A long walk may be better for your heart than multiple shorter ones

I'm not convinced that this study really means we need to start taking hour-long walks every day... I mean, think about it - 80% less likely to die from any cause? That sounds like a pretty big claim. What if those longer walks just happen to coincide with a good Netflix binge or a relaxing afternoon in the park? We shouldn't assume that's the actual reason behind the benefits.

And have you seen the shoes they're wearing in those pics? All fancy and expensive... I'm no expert, but isn't that just going to be an added expense on top of all the other things we need to shell out for?

Plus, what about those short walks that are supposed to be so good for us? 5-10 minutes a day? That's not exactly a lot of exercise if you ask me. I'd rather get my heart rate up and sweat a bit than just dashing around the block.

👟 The latest study on daily steps and heart health got me thinking... If taking shorter breaks isn't as bad for your heart as we thought, maybe it's not about getting to 10k steps a day either 🤔. What if just finding a way to make walking feel more enjoyable and manageable is key? Like, who says you have to walk for hours at a time? Even 5-10 minutes of steady walking can be beneficial 😊. And let's be real, it's all about making progress not perfection 🙏. So, instead of feeling like I'm failing if I don't hit my step goal, maybe I should focus on finding ways to incorporate more movement into my day that feel fun and sustainable for me 🌞.

🏃‍♀️ y'all gotta try this out... so its not just about how many steps u take but like the pattern n stuff 🕰️... i was thinkin bout this n my last walk an i was takin like 10 minute breaks every hour n it felt so different from when i used to just rush thru... i mean dont get me wrong 5-10 min walks r still good but its not the same as buildin up stamina n stuff 💪
