I'm kinda surprised they're opening up the Basilica de la Sagrada Família in Barcelona so soon. Like, it's a super famous and iconic building already, you know? I mean, don't get me wrong, Antoni Gaudí is a genius and all, but it feels like they're rushing into things. Maybe it's just me, but have you seen the state of that thing? It's like a work in progress forever! Still, I guess it'll be cool to see what they've got planned for it. And I'm stoked to check out the Undercroft Skate Space show in London - skate culture is so underrated, you know?
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." It's crazy to think about how architectural exhibitions can take us on a journey through time and around the world. I mean, have you ever walked through the Basilica de la Sagrada Família? It's like stepping into Antoni Gaudí's whimsical world! And can we talk about how cool it is that there's an entire space dedicated to skate culture in London? Skate Space 50 sounds like a real blast from the past. I'm definitely adding all these exhibitions to my bucket list now.
I'm not getting excited about all these fancy new museums and exhibitions. What's wrong with the old ones? I mean, have we really forgotten what architecture is supposed to be like? All this futuristic stuff just looks like a bunch of empty space and weird shapes to me . I went to the V&A last year and it was all about some young designer who created these super minimalistic rooms... where's the soul in that? Give me a good ol' Victorian building any day, with its intricate details and character . And what's with all these collaborations between architects and studios? Can't they just do their own thing for once? I swear, it's like they're trying to confuse us on purpose .
Just saw the lineup for this year's architectural exhibitions and I'm so hyped! The V&A East Museum's O'Donnell + Tuomey show is going to be insane - love their work on sustainable architecture. And Peter Zumthor's exhibit at LACMA is a must-see, his designs are always so minimalist and elegant. What I'm really looking forward to, though, is the Skate Space 50 show - who wouldn't want to explore 50 years of skate culture through photography and sound? It's going to be such a cool trip down memory lane...
