Bulls' season-opening winning streak ends with a thud against hot-shooting Knicks

Bulls' Unbeaten Streak Comes to an End with Disappointing Performance Against Knicks

The Chicago Bulls, who had been on a scorching hot start to the season, saw their unbeaten streak come to a sudden end at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks, fueled by a blistering 48% three-point shooting performance, handed the Bulls a 128-116 defeat.

Despite Josh Giddey's impressive triple-double of 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists, the Bulls were unable to overcome their own shortcomings. They struggled with rebounding, allowing the Knicks to dominate on the glass, and also failed to match the Knicks' physicality, which seemed to give them an edge throughout the game.

Coach Billy Donovan was not too disappointed with the team's performance, however, as he acknowledged that the Knicks shot the ball well and gave the Bulls a tough challenge. "They shot it great, so give them credit, but we shot the ball well too," Donovan said. "I thought it was all the physicality things... We didn't do the things at the level that we needed to."

The game was a stark contrast to the Bulls' previous performances, which had showcased their impressive defensive capabilities. However, on Sunday, they were unable to contain the Knicks' offense, which exploited their weaknesses and took advantage of any loose balls.

For Giddey, the loss was tough to swallow, but he took responsibility for his team's performance, saying that "physicality wasn't there" and that they didn't rebound effectively. He also acknowledged that the Knicks shot well, adding that "you've got to find ways to win when teams are knocking down their shots like that."

The Bulls will look to bounce back from this disappointing defeat by hosting the 76ers on Tuesday. As Donovan noted, "it's another good team in Philly coming in, so we've got to address what we need to." With a renewed focus on executing the fundamentals, the Bulls hope to return to their winning ways and reclaim their spot as one of the top teams in the league.

man dis game 1st half was crazy ๐Ÿคฏ bulls were lookin all sorts of dominant but knicks just kept heatin up ๐Ÿ”ฅ 48% from 3 is insane, they musta hit like half the shots they took lol... then 2nd half bulls just kinda stopped, rebounding was a mess & physicality was knicks all day ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ coach donnie said it all too, gotta execute fundamentals or you get exposed ๐Ÿ˜”

๐Ÿค• I'm not surprised they lost, Bulls were already due for a collapse imo. They've been riding that hot start for too long, it's only a matter of time before they cool off. And yeah, rebounding is super key, they can't control how the Knicks shoot tho ๐Ÿ“ฆ๐Ÿ’” Donovan just played it safe, said all the right things but didn't address what went wrong. Giddey's comments were pretty on point tho, physicality matters and if they can't bring that, they're toast ๐Ÿ”ฅ

omg u guys did u see that game?? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ the bulls were just so sloppy on defense they got destroyed by the knicks lol josh giddey tried his best with 23 points and all but c'mon team! rebounding is key and the Bulls just couldn't get it done ๐Ÿ’” coach donovan said they had to match the Knicks' physicality which is fair but like what did they do on defense? ๐Ÿค” can't wait for the next game against the 76ers tho hopefully they'll bounce back strong ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh, what's up with this game ๐Ÿ˜’? I mean, the Bulls were supposed to be unstoppable right now, but they just got destroyed by the Knicks ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. They couldn't even get their rebounds on track ๐Ÿ’ช and those three-pointers from the Knicks just kept coming in ๐Ÿš€. It's like they just gave up on defense for some reason ๐Ÿ˜•.

I'm not really surprised though, I mean we all know how streaks can end ๐ŸŽ‰. But still, it's a tough one to swallow after being undefeated for so long ๐Ÿ’”. The Bulls need to regroup and figure out what went wrong, 'cause if they don't, Philly is gonna take advantage of that ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

And Giddey, man... he's such a baller ๐Ÿคฉ, but even he couldn't save the day ๐Ÿ˜”. He took all the blame himself, which I love about him ๐Ÿ’ฏ. The thing is, if you're not winning, everyone gets hurt ๐Ÿค•. So let's hope the Bulls can bounce back and show us what they're made of ๐Ÿ’ฅ!

Ugh ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... just when you think they're gonna get it together, they fall flat. Like, what's going on with this team? Can't even contain a random shooting night from another team. And Giddey's all about how physicality wasn't there... yeah, no kidding, that's not the problem. The problem is they can't play defense to save their lives. And Donovan's just making excuses, like "we shot well too"... dude, that's not it. They got destroyed on the glass and couldn't match the Knicks' energy. This loss is a big deal, might put them back in 8th place already. ๐Ÿค”

I'm really confused by this game, you know? The Bulls were supposed to be unbeaten but they lost to the Knicks ๐Ÿค”. It's like, I get it, the Knicks shot well from three-pointers, 48% is a lot! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ But at the same time, the Bulls couldn't even get the rebounds right and that was a big deal in this game. And what's with all this "physicality" stuff? I don't know if I understand what that means but it sounds like an excuse for not doing well ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. The Bulls had some good moments, like Josh Giddey having a triple-double, but they just couldn't get the win in the end. I hope they can bounce back from this and start winning again soon! โšก๏ธ

I feel bad for the Bulls, I mean, 0-1? That's not even close to being realistic ๐Ÿค• But you know what? This loss could be a blessing in disguise! They can work on those rebounding issues and find ways to match the Knicks' physicality. And let's be real, Josh Giddey is still only 22, he's got this ๐Ÿ˜Ž. The Bulls have a tough game coming up against the 76ers, but I think they'll bounce back strong. They've got this! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค” The Bulls' unbeaten streak is basically a thing of the past now ๐Ÿ“‰ They went from being on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ to getting totally exposed by the Knicks ๐Ÿ’ฆ Their 48% three-point shooting was just insane ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, we all know they're good at it, but come on! ๐Ÿ‘€

According to data, their average points scored per game over the last month was around 120-125, which is pretty impressive ๐Ÿ“Š However, this loss drops them back down to like 110-115 ๐Ÿ“‰ Still a great performance overall.

The Bulls' rebounding woes are concerning though ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ They're averaging just 42 rebounds per game over the last month, which is way below their season average ๐Ÿ“ˆ Not good for a team that prides itself on defense.

Josh Giddey's stats were insane ๐Ÿ‘ But at the end of the day, it was a team effort... or lack thereof ๐Ÿ˜… The Bulls need to figure out what's going wrong and fix it ASAP ๐Ÿ’ช

man this loss was rough for the bulls ๐Ÿค• they had been playing like champs but the knicks just came at them with a whole different level of intensity and it showed on the scoreboard ๐Ÿ“Š the bulls need to work on rebounding and physicality ASAP, can't keep getting outmuscled by teams ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ josh giddey is gonna have to bring his A-game next time out ๐Ÿ‘€ hope they can bounce back from this one against the 76ers ๐Ÿ’ช
