Cambridge Audio unveils three wireless bookshelf speakers at CES

Cambridge Audio has unveiled three new active bookshelf speakers, dubbed as L/R Series, at this year's CES. The flagship model is the L/R X, which boasts a whopping 800W of power per speaker, making it the largest and most expensive option in the lineup.

Priced at $2,299, the L/R X features an impressive 2.5-way acoustic design, complete with a 28mm Torus tweeter and dual 5-inch woofers, as well as a pair of force-canceling passive radiators. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi streaming capabilities via Cambridge Audio's StreamMagic app and LED underlighting for added aesthetic appeal.

Sitting in the middle of the lineup is the L/R M, priced at $1,599, which shares the same acoustic design principles as its flagship counterpart but with significantly reduced power output. Although it's a more affordable option, it still packs a punch with 300W per speaker and Wi-Fi streaming capabilities.

The smallest and most budget-friendly option in the lineup is the L/R S, priced at $549, which uses a 21mm hard-dome tweeter and a 3-inch long-throw woofer. While it's the cheapest option, it misses out on Wi-Fi streaming capabilities in favor of Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity.

All three speakers are available in black, white, green, blue, orange, and walnut colors and will be released later this year.

OMG, I'm so stoked about these new L/R Series speakers from Cambridge Audio!! $2k might seem steep but honestly, 800W per speaker is HUGE!!! The design looks super sleek too! The LED underlighting is a great touch Can't wait to get my hands on one (or all?) of these babies

πŸ€” so they're just gonna drop 3 speakers with crazy prices... I mean, $2,299 is outta my league πŸ€‘ but I guess if you're into audiophile stuff, it's worth the splurge. 800W per speaker? That's insane! But at that price point, what makes me skeptical is how do they make 'em sound that good? what's the science behind all this? where's the research to back up their claims? πŸ“š

I'm low-key surprised they didn't go for something way more innovative with the design πŸ˜‚. I mean, the L/R X is literally the largest speaker out there, but is it just going to be a beastly beast or can we expect some advanced tech behind that 800W power? Like, how's the sound quality really gonna hold up in a real-world setting?

And what's with the different color options πŸ€”? I get it, they wanna appeal to a wider audience, but six colors is still kinda a lot. Can't they just stick with 2-3 and call it a day? Anyway, Wi-Fi streaming on all three models sounds like a great feature, can't wait to see how the StreamMagic app holds up πŸ‘

πŸ€“ The L/R Series from Cambridge Audio seems like an impressive offering for audiophiles on a budget. I think the key to their success lies in the 2.5-way acoustic design, which provides a more comprehensive sound reproduction experience. The inclusion of force-canceling passive radiators is particularly noteworthy, as it helps to minimize cabinet resonance and deliver a smoother frequency response.

While the flagship L/R X model may be out of reach for many, I think the middle-of-the-line L/R M offers a great balance between performance and affordability. At $1,599, it's still a significant investment, but the 300W per speaker output is certainly enticing. As for the budget-friendly option, the L/R S, while missing Wi-Fi streaming capabilities, still packs a solid punch with its Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity.

It'll be interesting to see how these speakers hold up in real-world applications and whether Cambridge Audio's StreamMagic app can provide a seamless user experience. Overall, I think the L/R Series has some promising elements that could make it a top contender in the high-end speaker market 🎧

🀩 Oh man, these new speakers from Cambridge Audio sound insane! I mean, 800W per speaker is crazy! 🀯 You could literally blast your music all day without worrying about damaging the thing. And the design? πŸ’‘ I love the force-canceling passive radiators - it's like they're saying "hey, we've got this whole 'canceling out sound waves' thing figured out". πŸ˜‰

And can we talk about the Wi-Fi streaming capabilities for a sec? πŸ“» It's such a game-changer. Imagine being able to stream your favorite music or podcasts from anywhere in your home without having to jump through hoops. It's just so convenient.

That being said, I do have to wonder... is 800W really necessary? πŸ˜• I mean, the L/R M still packs some serious power (300W per speaker) and it's like half the price of the flagship model. Maybe the X is just a bit too much for most people? πŸ€”

🎧 just saw the new Cambridge Audio bookshelf speakers at CES... 800W per speaker? 🀯 that's insane! they gotta be good though, right? i mean, who needs that kind of power in their living room? 🏠 anyway, not sure if i'd splurge on one. seems like it's out of my price range πŸ€‘ but for the audiophiles out there... go for it! πŸ’Έ

OMG 🀯 I'm so down for these new bookshelf speakers from Cambridge Audio!!! The L/R X is giving me LIFE πŸ’– with that 800W of power per speaker - my home theater system would totally vibe with it! But, I gotta say, the price tag is kinda steep for me 😳 $2,299 is a lot to spend on speakers, even if they do sound amazing. The L/R M looks like a more practical option for me though, since it's still powerful but at a lower price point πŸ’Έ. And omg the color options 🎨 - I'm loving the walnut and green ones! Can't wait to see these in person and hear them out for myself 🎧

omg u gotta be kiddin me 800w per speaker? who needs that much power for a bookshelf speaker lol what's next 1200w subs or something? but seriously though i'm hyped for the L/R X, that's some sick specs they're goin with a force-canceling passive radiator? genius move

OMG u guys!! 🀯 Cambridge Audio just dropped some SERIOUSLY sick new bookshelf speakers πŸ“šπŸŽ΅ at CES! I'm low-key obsessed with the flagship L/R X model, 800W per speaker is insane πŸ’₯πŸ’Έ Priced at $2,299 it's a splurge but trust me these bad boys will sound like a million bucks πŸ’ΈπŸ”Š Wi-Fi streaming capabilities and force-canceling passive radiators? 🀯 Yes please! Can't wait to get my hands on one (or two, or three... πŸ˜‰)

OMG u guys! 🀯 Cambridge Audio just dropped the most EPIC active bookshelf speakers EVER! I'm talking 800W of POWER per speaker for that L/R X flagship model - that's CRAZY talk! πŸ’₯ And the price? A whoppin' $2,299! That's like, a small fortune, but if u wanna rock out with crystal clear sound, it's worth it, IMO 🎡. I'm def checking these out and adding them to my wishlist ASAP! 😍 The fact that they have Wi-Fi streaming capabilities and LED underlighting is the cherry on top! 🍰 Can't wait for these babies to hit stores this year! πŸ’Έ

omg u guys! 🀯 they just dropped these new active bookshelf speakers from Cambridge Audio and i'm HOOKED πŸ’₯ I mean, who needs a home office when you can just buy an entire system that'll make your room sound like a pro studio?! πŸ˜‚ I know the flagship L/R X is kinda pricey at $2k but trust me, it's WORTH IT πŸ€‘ those 800W of power per speaker are insane! and Wi-Fi streaming capabilities? yaaas, i'm all about being connected to my music wherever i go πŸ’»

Just saw the new speakers from Cambridge Audio 🀯! I mean, 800W per speaker? That's insane power for a bookshelf speaker! I'm more of a budget listener myself, but I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into these high-end speakers.

The L/R X is definitely the flagship model, but I think it's worth considering the L/R M if you're looking to save some cash. It still packs a punch and has those cool force-canceling passive radiators 🎧. And hey, the L/R S might not have Wi-Fi streaming, but Bluetooth aptX HD is still a great option.

What really gets me excited, though, is the design aspect of these speakers. They come in so many colors and styles - it's like they're art pieces or something! The LED underlighting on the X model looks particularly stunning πŸ’‘. Can't wait to see them in person at CES this year πŸ‘€

The prices for these speakers are kinda crazy πŸ€‘... I mean, $2,299 for a speaker? That's like buying a decent car or a nice house! For that kind of cash, you could get a whole home audio system with better sound quality and more features. And don't even get me started on the L/R S, it's like they took all the leftover parts from the other two and slapped them together... 21mm tweeter? 3-inch woofer? That's not impressive at all πŸ€”

I'm loving the new L/R Series from Cambridge Audio 🀩! I mean, who wouldn't want a speaker that's basically a high-end boombox with 800W of power per speaker? The price is steep, but if you're an audiophile on a budget, it's worth considering. The force-canceling passive radiators are a game-changer - I've never heard speakers sound so clear and detailed in my life 🎡.

The L/R S is still a solid option for those who want to get into high-quality audio without breaking the bank. 549 bucks might seem like a lot, but trust me, it's worth it for the sound quality alone. And can we talk about how cool the LED underlighting looks? It adds this whole new level of sophistication to the speakers.

Overall, I'm excited to get my hands on one (or all) of these bad boys and see what they're capable of 🎧

Ugh I'm literally soooo hyped about these new bookshelf speakers from Cambridge Audio!!! 🀩 I mean what's not to love? They're like, super powerful (800W of power per speaker?! that's insane) and they look so sleek with those force-canceling passive radiators - it's like music in a whole new way! And the best part is they have Wi-Fi streaming capabilities, so you can just plug them into your router and stream your fave tunes without any hassle. But omg the L/R X is like, totally out of my budget πŸ€‘ at $2,299 it's more than I make in a month! Still I'll be getting myself an L/R S cuz it's like, super affordable at $549 - that's just crazy for how good it sounds! Can't wait to get mine and blast some sick beats all day long πŸ’₯
