FBI Launches Hunt for Gunman Who Shot Brinks Guard in Brighton Park

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking information about a brazen shooting that took place on December 23 outside the Chase Bank location in Brighton Park, where an armored truck guard was shot and seriously injured.

A reward of up to $10,000 has been offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter. According to authorities, the gunman made a verbal demand for money before shooting the guard at around 9:53 am. The victim was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The FBI described the suspect as a male with a slim and athletic build, wearing a dark puffer jacket, a dark face mask, dark sunglasses, dark pants, and dark athletic shoes. He escaped on foot in a bronze Hyundai Elantra sedan with tinted windows.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the FBI's Chicago Field Office at (312) 421-6700.
 
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one 🤯... I mean, what's even the point of a guy running up to some bank and just shooting someone for no reason? Like, can't he see how messed up that is? And then just escapes in a car with tinted windows, like he's got some kind of get-out-of-jail-free card 😂. I'm all for protecting people's safety, but this guy's actions are just so... reckless 🚨. And what really gets me is that the FBI's offering a $10k reward for info leading to his arrest - which basically means he's got some kinda financial security or something 🤑. Anyways, I hope they catch this guy soon and make sure he faces justice 💯.
 
man this whole thing just got me thinking... we gotta wonder what drives someone to do something so reckless and violent... like, is it desperation? Is it a cry for help? Or is it just pure evil? 🤔 either way, it's a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there's always hope... but only if we put ourselves in their shoes (if they'd even listen, lol). it's easy to point fingers and say "that guy's crazy", but what about all the other factors at play? is it lack of opportunities? poverty? mental health issues? 🤑 we can't just dismiss someone as a "bad egg"... we gotta try to understand where they're coming from. and more importantly, how can WE prevent this kind of thing from happening again? 💡

Just had this happen in our neighborhood last year too... all these armored trucks gotta be making people nervous, i guess 🤔. Anyway, think about it, someone's willing to risk their life for a payout... how much are they really getting out of this? $10k might not even cover the medical bills for that guy 😬

Ugh man this is crazy I was walking through Brighton Park yesterday and it's like everywhere has security nowadays I feel bad for the guard who got shot 🤕💔 You can't even get a loan without someone trying to rob you or hurt you, it's wild. I hope they catch this dude soon and bring him to justice, but what's with the FBI just launching an investigation on Christmas Day?
