FCC to rescind ruling that said ISPs are required to secure their networks

I'm like totally against this move by the FCC 🙅‍♂️. I mean, think about it, if they're gonna rely on "voluntary commitments" from carriers to secure their networks, that's just a total cop-out 💔. It's not like carriers are gonna take cybersecurity seriously without some hard-hitting regulations forcing them to 🤷‍♂️. And what's with this "collaborative" approach? That just sounds like code for "we're not really doing anything, but we'll pretend to work together with the industry to avoid actual change 😒". I'm all about free market stuff and competition, but when it comes to network security, we need some real oversight and accountability, not just a bunch of empty promises 🤞.

i think it's crazy that they're ditching the mandate, i mean what about all the hackers out there? like, shouldn't we be doing more to protect ourselves from cyber attacks? this whole voluntary thing just seems like a way for the industry to save face and avoid getting sued. and what about all the consumers who don't have a clue how this works? they're going to be left high and dry when their networks get hacked. it's like, come on FCC, do something! 👀
