Former Eagles will get their shot – or another one – at hoisting the Lombardi

It's still a slam dunk that at least one former Eagle will be sipping champagne this Sunday in Santa Clara as the Seattle Seahawks battle the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. The 2025 Eagles, despite falling short of their quest for consecutive championships, have set up a number of their old teammates and coaches to get another shot at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.

Among those who might be calling it like it is - 'champions' - are Eagles defenders idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss. While both missed five games this season, Elliss tied for the team high with four pressures against the Broncos in the AFC Championship. The Patriots scooped him up off waivers after being cut by the Eagles in November.

On the other side of the field, Mack Hollins, a former Birds receiver who won a Super Bowl ring with the 2017 Eagles, could be celebrating his second championship if the Seahawks emerge victorious. His career numbers suggest that he's emerged into solid role player over the latter half of his career, including 550 yards on 46 receptions and 2 TDs for the Patriots along with special teams contributions.

New England Patriots defensive edge Patrick Johnson, a 2021 Eagles seventh-round pick who played only nine games this season before being cut in November, found himself back with the team after re-signing to the practice squad. He remains as a free agent and will hopefully get another shot at the playoffs.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe, an undrafted DB from Alabama who has seen his career take a dramatic turn since joining the Patriots on their practice squad last year, could soon be calling himself a Super Bowl champion. After playing 28 games over his first two seasons with the Eagles and only starting in three of them, he's become one of the top defenses in the NFL, starting six of the 10 games he played this season.

On the Seahawks side of the ball, fullback Brady Russell has emerged from being a practice squad player into an important special teamer after spending two seasons playing for the Eagles. He spent just one target all season when the Seahawks converted him to fullback under new OC Klint Kubiak and saw his usage skyrocket to 6%.

While not on the field, former Eagles assistant head coach Leslie Frazier might be beaming with pride if he's in attendance this weekend as a member of the Seahawks coaching staff. The former DBs coach for Andy Reid won rings with both the Bears and Colts but will have to take out his old Eagles hat if it makes an appearance in that role.

Ultimately, one thing is certain - no matter who wins or loses on Sunday, at least one former Eagle will be basking in the glory of a Super Bowl championship.

🤔 I'm calling BS on this whole "slam dunk" for the Eagles. What's the real reason they're setting up old teammates and coaches to win? Is it just coincidence that these guys happen to fit the team's current needs at the same time? 🤑 And what about Patrick Johnson, re-signing with the Patriots as a free agent after being cut by the Eagles? That doesn't add up. I want to see some sources or evidence behind this story before I believe it. Can someone please provide me with some credible info on how the Seahawks are setting up their old players for success? 📊

I think what's really cool about this whole situation is how it shows that even though our old team isn't doing so well, some of the guys we invested in are still killing it elsewhere 🤩! It's like they're proving to us that they were worth the risk, and that's a great lesson for all of us - sometimes you gotta believe in people and give them chances to shine 💡. And let's not forget about Brady Russell, who went from being a practice squad player to an important contributor on special teams... that's like me trying to get my first job after college, I guess 😂! You just gotta be patient, work hard, and trust the process 🙏.

I gotta say, this Seahawks team has come a long way since they were struggling mid-season 🤯! From idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss to Mack Hollins and Josh Jobe, it's awesome to see all these former Eagles guys getting another shot at the big time 💪. And let's be real, if the Seahawks win, Brady Russell is gonna be sipping champagne too - he's officially a Super Bowl fullback now 🎉! But for real though, I'm hyped for the game and can't wait to see how these guys match up against the Pats defense 💥. GO SEAHAWKS!!! 🏈🔵

omg 🤩 can you even believe how many ex eagles are gonna be on the field this sunday?! it's like andy reid is blessing them all with super bowl rings 🏆💫 idl milton williams and christian elliss could be sipping champagne already with the pats, but i still got faith in those guys they came so close last season 🤔 and mack hollins too he's like "hey, i might not be the flashiest receiver anymore, but i'll still get you that TD" 🎉 meanwhile, patrick johnson is just trying to cling to his playoff life 🤦‍♂️ gotta love how far joe jobe has come from being an undrafted db to a top defense in the nfl though 💥 brady russell's transformation into a fullback is everything too lol who knew practice squad players could become superstars 🙌

omg can u believe how hyped idl millton williams and christian elliss are gonna be if seahawks win 🤩 i know they missed some games but their numbers this season were still 🔥, and now they get another chance at the super bowl lol mack hollins is lowkey my favorite tho, he's like the ultimate underdog story and i'm rooting for him so hard 💪 patrik johnson better get his act together if he wants to make a comeback 🤞 josh jobe is literally the most underrated player ever i was like "who's this guy?" and now he's all over the nfl 😂 brady russell tho, from practice squad to starting fullback? that's like the ultimate move 🔝

😒 I'm so over how they always have to remind us that the Patriots have a bunch of ex-Eagles players on their team 🤦‍♂️. It's like we can't even root for our own guys without them being poached by the competition 🙄. And what's up with Mack Hollins getting all the love? I mean, he's okay, but let's not forget about some of the other talented ex-Eagles players who are actually making a real impact on their new teams 💁‍♀️.

OMG 😍💥 I'm literally DYING over Josh Jobe!!! 🤯 He's come SOOO far since joining the Patriots' practice squad last year! That guy has been on fire this season and I am LIVING for it 💪🏽 He's proved so many people wrong, including himself, and now he could be a Super Bowl champ?!?! It gives me all the feels 😭🎉

🤔 I'm kinda hoping Mack Hollins can pull off another ring with the Seahawks 🎉. It's crazy to think about how far he's come from being cut by his own team last season, now potentially celebrating a second championship 🙌. IdL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss also gave me chills tho, they're like the ultimate underdogs who just want that ring 🔥. As for Patrick Johnson, I'm rooting for him to get another shot at the playoffs - that guy's got the skills 🤞. And can we talk about Josh Jobe's career transformation? The dude went from undrafted DB to top defense in like what 6 months?! Mind blown 😲. Brady Russell's ascension to special teamer is also super inspiring, I love how he's taken on new roles and found success 🎯. Fingers crossed for the Seahawks this Sunday! 💪

omg i'm so down for this super bowl 🏈💥! I think idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss are gonna bring home that W for the seahawks 🌊🔴, they've been looking fire all season long 🔥👀 Mack Hollins is also due for a major comeback after his last stint with the patriots 🎯💪 and Josh Jobe's got this corner thing on lock 🔒👊 Brady Russell might not be on the field but special teams is where it's at 🤹‍♂️, let's get ready to rumble!

man this super bowl is gonna be lit 🤩! i'm so hyped for milt and ellis to bring home another title with seattle 🏆 they've got this!!! and idk about hollins, but he's still a bird at heart lol 🐦 plus josh jobe is living his best life as a pat's corner 🤪 and brady russell just went from practice squad to fulltime player 💥 what's next?

man this is gonna be so crazy! 🤯 I'm loving how the Seahawks are bringing back some of their old guys and giving them another shot, it's like they're saying "hey we still believe in you" 😊 idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss are definitely due for a big game, and Mack Hollins is always gonna be up for a championship. 🎉 And can't forget about Josh Jobe, that dude's come so far since joining the Patriots practice squad, I'm rooting for him to make some huge plays in this one! 🙌

Man, it's crazy to think about how some of these guys are still flying high 🤯. I mean, idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss are like the OG defenders 💪, been around the block a few times, but they're still bringing the heat 🔥. And then there's Mack Hollins, he was on fire in Philly back in the day 🎉, now he's living his best life in New England 😊.

And what about Josh Jobe? The guy went from nowhere to Super Bowl contender 💥, that's some next-level stuff my friend! I'm also loving how Brady Russell is killing it as a special teams machine 🤯. It's like the Seahawks are giving all these guys a second chance and they're crushing it 💼.

I gotta say, though, it's gonna be sad to see some of these guys not bring home that championship ring 🙅‍♂️. But hey, at least they've got each other to celebrate with 🎉. And let's be real, one team is still gonna take home the Lombardi Trophy, and it'll be a total slam dunk 💥!

🏈😊 I think its gonna be super cool to see idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss representing the Eagles... they worked hard for it even if they didn't get to play all 16 games 🤷‍♂️. Mack Hollins is like a dark horse candidate tho, who knows he could bring home another ring with the Seahawks! 🐦🏆 As for Patrick Johnson and Josh Jobe, its awesome how their careers took off after being on the practice squad 💪. And you can bet Leslie Frazier will be hyped no matter what goes down 😁.

🤩 I'm so hyped for this Super Bowl! It's amazing to see all these talented players from the Seahawks and Patriots going up against each other. idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss are my guys, they're so clutch on defense 🙌. And Mack Hollins is looking solid as a receiver, his career numbers are insane 💥. I'm also loving Josh Jobe's story, from being undrafted to becoming one of the top defenses in the NFL 🤯. Fullback Brady Russell is another guy who's making waves with his new role on special teams 👏. Can't wait to see which team comes out on top and gets that Super Bowl champagne 🥂!

omg i'm literally screaming right now! i've got my squad cheering for seahawks and idk how mack hollins ended up with the patriots but i guess it just shows that he's still got it 🤩 anyway, i feel bad for patrick johnson since he was cut from his team in november but i'm hoping he gets another chance to shine 💫 and omg leslie frazier is going to be so proud of josh jobe if they win lol my boy will be basking in the glory of a super bowl ring 🥳

Ugh, this league is so stacked 🤯💥. It's crazy to think about how many guys from the Eagles are gonna be celebrating a ring regardless of who wins. idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss were already getting some major playing time before they even got cut by their own team! And then you have Mack Hollins, who kinda just showed up out of nowhere in his second team to get another shot at a title... meanwhile, guys like Patrick Johnson are still fighting for scraps as a free agent 🤦‍♂️. It's all about the benjamins honey 💸

The world may never know what could've been for the 2025 Eagles 🤔😏, but one thing's for sure, those who didn't make it to the big game are still chasing that championship ring 💎👊. The quote is: "There is no such thing as a free lunch."

Man I'm hyped for this one 🤩. It's crazy to think about how many former Eagles are gonna be sipping champagne after this game. I mean idL Milton Williams and Christian Elliss might've missed some games, but they're still bringing that fire to the Patriots' D. And can you believe Mack Hollins could win another ring? He's like the ultimate underdog story 🤗.

But what really gets me is how far these guys have come since being cut by the Eagles. Josh Jobe's gone from undrafted DB to top corner in the NFL, and Brady Russell's transformed into a vital special teams player. It just goes to show that football's all about second chances 🔄.

And let's not forget Leslie Frazier, who's now rocking the Seahawks' coaching staff 😎. He might've left Philly, but he'll always be an Eagle at heart. This game's gonna be so much fun to watch – can't wait to see which Eagles alum comes out on top 🏆
