According to the Chester County Health Department, the incident occurred on Sunday along Warwick Furnace Road. While details about the nature and severity of the injury are scarce, officials confirmed that the animal caused "perforation of the skin."
The department is urging residents not to attempt to catch or interact with the coyote, as its status regarding rabies is currently unknown. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been deployed to locate the animal, setting traps at its last known location.
Residents in Warwick and East Nantmeal townships are advised to report any sightings of a coyote behaving abnormally or aggressively to the game commission's dispatch line at 1-833-PGC-WILD.
