Hudson’s Detroit announces rooftop bar Pine Hall - Detroit Metro Times

New rooftop bar Pine Hall set to take flight at Hudson's Detroit, a nod to the city's rich past.

The Union Square Hospitality Group, behind the James Beard Award-winning restaurant group and Shake Shack burger chain, is bringing its first-ever Detroit project to the city. Pine Hall, a neighborhood-inspired rooftop bar, will open this spring in the new Hudson's Detroit tower.

Named after the popular restaurant that once stood on the site of the old J.L. Hudson's Department store, which closed its doors in 1983 and was demolished in 1998, Pine Hall is expected to become a locals favorite. The bar will be designed to bring people together, fitting into whatever moment calls for it.

With seating capacity around 300 guests, Pine Hall will also feature an outdoor deck offering breathtaking views of downtown Detroit. Union Square Hospitality Group's Danny Meyer described the bar as "a neighborhood bar" in a press release, where customers can make it part of their regular rotation.

Meyer hopes that Detroiters will take to Pine Hall like one of the city's own, embracing its casual and welcoming atmosphere. With its grand opening set for this spring, Pine Hall is poised to become another must-visit destination in Detroit's thriving nightlife scene.

I'm really stoked about Pine Hall rooftop bar opening up in Hudson's Detroit tower 🍹🌆. It's awesome that Union Square Hospitality Group is bringing its first-ever Detroit project to the city and paying homage to the rich history of J.L. Hudson's Department store, which was a major part of Detroit's past. The idea of a neighborhood-inspired bar where locals can hang out and make it a regular spot sounds perfect for me 🤗.

I love that Pine Hall will have an outdoor deck with sick views of downtown Detroit, it's going to be a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a drink and take in the sights. The fact that Danny Meyer is hoping that Detroiters will embrace its casual and welcoming atmosphere really resonates with me - there's nothing better than feeling like you're part of the community when you're out at a bar 🌴.

Spring opening can't come soon enough, I'm ready to get my rooftop bar fix in Detroit!

omg i'm so hyped!! 🤩 pineapple hall is going to be lit!!! i mean, who wouldn't wanna hang out at a rooftop bar with views of detroit? it's like shake shack but better, because it's not just a burger joint 😂. and i love how they're bringing back the name pine hall, it's like they're paying homage to the city's rich past. danny meyer is going to make sure this place is welcoming and casual, just like detroiters 🤗. i can already imagine myself sipping on a drink with my friends and taking in the views... it's gonna be a game changer for detroit's nightlife scene!!! 💥

I'm not sure if a rooftop bar really feels necessary in downtown Detroit 🤔... I mean, the city's got some amazing local spots already that offer great views and a chill vibe. But at the same time, it's hard to deny the appeal of sipping a craft cocktail on a rooftop with the city lights twinkling around you ✨. Plus, it's always cool to see big-name restaurants like Shake Shack open up in new cities... they bring a level of quality and consistency that can be hard to find elsewhere 🤞.

I'm curious to see how locals will react to Pine Hall - will they take to the idea of another rooftop bar, or will it feel like too much of a similar vibe? Only time will tell, I guess 😊.

I'm stoked about Pine Hall rooftop bar in Detroit 🤩! I mean, who doesn't love a good spot to chill with friends and enjoy the city views? It's awesome that they're bringing back that old J.L. Hudson's vibe, but with their own twist. A neighborhood-inspired bar sounds like exactly what we need - a place where people can just relax and be themselves. I'm all about that casual, welcoming atmosphere 💆‍♀️. And 300 guests? That's perfect for a regular hangout spot 🤝. Let's hope it becomes one of those places where locals make memories with their friends 👫. Can't wait to try it out this spring ☀️!

I'm really stoked about this new rooftop bar Pine Hall 🍹🌆. I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out on a rooftop with a sick view of downtown Detroit? It sounds like the Union Square Hospitality Group is trying to bring that neighborhood vibe to the bar, which I think is gonna be super cool. A 300-guest capacity and outdoor deck? That's exactly what I need after a long day 😴. Plus, Danny Meyer seems to know what he's doing with his casual and welcoming atmosphere - I'm sure it'll become a local fave in no time 🤞. Can't wait to check it out this spring!

🌆 I'm low-key excited about Pine Hall rooftop bar! It's dope that they're bringing back the name of a legendary spot from Detroit's past, you feel? The idea of it being a neighborhood bar where locals can hang out is fire 🍹💥. 300 seats isn't too big or too small, so I'm sure people will be able to grab a table and enjoy those stunning views of downtown. Plus, Shake Shack burgers are already a thing, so this place better bring the heat 🔥. The vibe sounds super chill and welcoming – it's gonna be a spot where friends can meet up after work or just hang out on a night out. Can't wait to check it out when it opens! 🤩

I think it's really cool how Union Square Hospitality Group is bringing a new vibe to Detroit with Pine Hall! 🤗 They're going for that neighborhood feel, which I think is perfect for the city - all about community and making everyone feel welcome. And can we talk about those views of downtown? 😍 300 guests is just right for a chill rooftop spot, not too big or too small. It's gonna be one of those places where you can grab a drink with friends and make it a regular hangout. I'm hyped to try it out this spring! 🌞

I'm not sure about this rooftop bar thingy... 🤔 I mean, it sounds nice and all, but isn't a 300-guest capacity kinda small for a "neighborhood bar"? And what's with the outdoor deck? Are they expecting like, super long lines of people waiting to get in? 🚗 Also, how much are we talking about in terms of prices? Is this gonna be some high-end joint or can you get a decent drink for under $10? 💸 I need some sources on that too...

omg i'm so stoked about pine hall 🤩! it sounds like they're really getting the vibe right - a neighborhood-inspired bar that feels like home, you know? 300 guests might seem small compared to other bars, but i think that's actually gonna be a pro - smaller spaces can feel way cozier and more intimate. plus, the outdoor deck with views of downtown detroit is giving me all the feels 😍 it's amazing how pine hall is embracing the city's history and culture, too - the name alone tells you they're paying homage to the old j.l. hudson's department store. i'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye on this one, can't wait to try it out! 🎉

I'm so hyped about Pine Hall rooftop bar 🌆💥! It's gonna be sick to have a spot where locals can chill and enjoy the view of downtown Detroit while sippin' on some craft beers 🍺. I love how it's designed to bring people together, that's what this city is all about community vibes 💕. Plus, having it in Hudson's Detroit tower is genius, it's like a new chapter for the building and the city as a whole 📚. Danny Meyer's vision of Pine Hall as a neighborhood bar sounds spot on, I can already imagine it being my go-to spot to catch some sunset views with friends 🌅💬. Spring is gonna be lit in Detroit!

I mean, I know some people are gonna love this rooftop bar thingy, but can we talk about how it's a total replica of old-school Detroit? Like, yeah the name is cool and all, but it's basically just a nod to the city's rich past without adding anything new. And 300 guests is super small for a bar, imo 🤔. I also think it's kinda weird that they're calling it a "neighborhood bar" when it's literally in the middle of downtown. Can't they get with the times and make it more like a modern spot? 🌆

🤔 I'm not sold on rooftop bars yet... they're just so Instagrammable 😒. Like, what's the fun in paying top dollar to be surrounded by a bunch of pretentious people taking selfies? 📸 And what's with the "neighborhood-inspired" vibe? Is that just code for "we couldn't afford actual community engagement"? 🤷‍♀️ I mean, I love Shake Shack as much as the next person, but this feels like another overpriced, touristy thing to me. 💸 Can we please focus on supporting local businesses instead of chasing after some fleeting social media trend? 😒

I'm so down for a rooftop bar that's actually gonna be neighborhood-friendly for once... I mean, who needs all that pretentious stuff when you can just have good vibes and great views of the city? The fact that it's named after some old restaurant that used to stand on the site is kinda cool too, like Detroit's history and nostalgia are being incorporated into the design. And 300 guests isn't too shabby, I guess - we don't need no huge clubs when you can just have a chill spot to grab a drink and catch up with friends. The outdoor deck with those "breathtaking views of downtown" sounds amazing 🌆🍹, but what's the real draw here? Is it the food? The drinks? Or is it just the fact that we're finally getting some decent nightlife options in this city that's been sleeping on its cool factor for too long 😴👏

I'm kinda stoked about this new rooftop bar in Detroit 🤩. I mean, a neighborhood-inspired spot with great views of the city sounds like just what we need - somewhere locals can chill out and hang out without it feeling too touristy. The fact that they're named after an old restaurant on the site is pretty cool too. It's like a nod to the past, but also a fresh start for the new generation. I'm curious to see how it'll be, will it live up to the hype? 🤔 Maybe we can get some feedback from people who've been there before?

omg i cant wait 2 try pine hall 🍹🌆 it sounds like the perfect spot 2 grab a drink n enjoy some great vibes 🤩 u gotta love dat they're all about makin people feel welcome n part of the community, thats so cool 😊 300 guests or not, its still gonna b a hit with detroiters! plus, da views of downtown r gonna be insane 🌆👏 cant w8 2 see dis bar in person & give it a try 💖
