ugh I cant even imagine having to deal with somethin like this its so unfair that some disbarred solicitor is holdin up his inheritance and leavin him in limbo he should be gettin a penalty not face another financial hit from his dad's legacy its not right at all
this is some serious stuff going down... disbarred solicitor holding onto client docs for who knows how long? that's just wrong. I mean i get it, firms fail, people lose money, but what about all these people left in limbo like john falmouth? he can't even confirm his inheritance or cover living expenses on his own because of some dodgy lawyer's mess. and the sra stepping in to help is a good start, but months to get things sorted? that's just not fair. what kind of system are we living in where people are being penalized for something they didn't do? gotta ask: what's the protocol on disbarred solicitors holding onto client money? who regulates these folks? and how can we prevent this from happening again?
This is such a messed up situation - a disbarred solicitor holding onto inheritance documents for their own gain is just not right. I mean, what if these people are counting on that money to survive? It's like they're being left in limbo, not knowing how to move forward or even get the support they need from their own law firm.
The fact that the SRA stepped in so quickly is a good start, but it's still a lot of uncertainty and stress for these individuals. I wonder if we can learn anything from this about the way our system regulates solicitors? Are there more checks in place to prevent something like this from happening again?
It's also worth noting that there are probably plenty of resources available online for people dealing with probate and inheritance, but who knows or has access to them when they're in a state of crisis? I hope the SRA can provide better support and guidance for those affected.
