'I respect him an awful lot': Carrick reveals Solskjær backing for Manchester United role

Carrick Reveals Solskjær's Support for Manchester United Role

Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick has revealed that former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær was fully supportive of his appointment, citing their close friendship as the reason. The two were teammates at United during the 2006-07 season and worked together under Solskjær from December 2018 to November 2021.

Carrick managed United for three games after Solskjær's sacking but departed upon Ralf Rangnick taking over, citing loyalty as a factor. When asked if he had spoken to Solskjær since beginning his second interim tenure, Carrick confirmed that they had spoken and expressed his gratitude for the support.

Solskjær has been a vocal supporter of Carrick's appointment, wishing him and the team all the best after their recent victory over Manchester City. However, Carrick clarified that he would not be seeking advice solely from Solskjær due to their close friendship, instead opting to speak with other friends if needed.

For his upcoming match against Arsenal, Carrick emphasized that each game is unique and cannot be approached as a "copy and paste" strategy. He will need to adapt the team's approach to suit the specific circumstances of the game and identify new elements to build upon their previous performance.

The recent display by Patrick Dorgu, who operates both as a wide attacker and wingback, was a highlight of Carrick's first match in charge. The coach praised Dorgu's work rate and versatility, stating that he would not want to pin him down to a specific position. With Solskjær's backing and Carrick's emphasis on adaptability, Manchester United fans are hopeful for a promising future under their interim head coach.

OMG 😂 like what's up with this new info tho? 🤔 so carrick's saying solskjaer was super supportive of his appointment but also said he wouldn't be seeking advice from him cuz they're best mates lol 😂 makes sense though, you don't wanna get advice from someone who's basically family, right? 👪 anyway, sounds like carrick's gonna try to come up with a new game plan for each match and not just copy what solskjaer did in the past 📝 that's cool, hopefully it pays off! 💼

just imagine if carrick can bring back united's magic 🔮💫 with solskjær's support 🤝🏽 and his own unique style ⚡️ he's not afraid to try new things and adapt to different situations 🔄👍 that's what makes me excited for the upcoming match against arsenal ⚔️👊 carrick's focus on versatility is exactly what united needs 🔴⚪️ fingers crossed he can deliver a winning performance ✨

Yaaas, I'm loving the vibes around Carrick's appointment as Man U's interim boss! It's amazing that Ole Gunnar Solskjær is being super supportive and backing him all the way 🙌🏼. Their friendship and shared experiences make a huge difference, but it's awesome to hear that Carrick won't be seeking advice just from Ole - he's got other connections too 💪! The recent win over Man City was a great morale booster, and I'm excited to see how the team will adapt for the Arsenal game 🏆. That Patrick Dorgu kid is a genius on the pitch - so versatile and hardworking 🤩! With Solskjær's backing and Carrick's emphasis on being flexible, I think Man U fans can look forward to some exciting matches ahead ⚽️!

I'm loving the vibes with Michael Carrick at the helm 🌈💪. He's got Ole Gunnar Solskjær's support, which is no surprise given they're old school mates 😂. It's great that he's speaking up about how each game is unique and not just a 'copy and paste' strategy - it sounds like he wants to bring a fresh approach to the table 🔄.

I'm also stoked to see Patrick Dorgu getting some love for his versatility ⚽️! He seems like an awesome player to work with, and it's awesome that Carrick wants to give him the freedom to play wherever he likes on the pitch. Can't wait to see how the team develops under Carrick - fingers crossed they can get back to their winning ways 🤞!

By the way, I was thinking about this after you mentioned Solskjær's support for Carrick... doesn't that sound like a big weight off Carrick's shoulders? 😊

Man... it feels like I'm watching the same old story unfold at Old Trafford 🙄. You know, back in my day, we had that iconic Treble-winning season with Solskjær and Beckham leading the charge. Those were some wild times! Carrick's got a tough job ahead of him, but if anyone can bring some stability to the team, it's him. And having Ole's support behind him is definitely a plus 🙏. Still, you've gotta feel for Ralf Rangnick, trying to navigate all that drama... anyway, I'm curious to see how Carrick adapts his strategy for each game - hope he doesn't get too caught up in trying to recreate the good old days 😅.

aww man i feel like carrick is in a tough spot 🤕 but it's great that he has solskjaer's support ❤️ it's awesome that they were teammates back in the day and have such a strong bond 🤝 now he just gotta focus on adapting his strategy for each game ⚽️ and making sure dorgu is utilized to his full potential 🎯 i'm rooting for man ut to turn things around! 💪
