Jerry Bruckheimer and Sir Richard Taylor to be Honored at Visual Effects Society Awards – Film News in Brief

Jerry Bruckheimer and Sir Richard Taylor will be feted at the Visual Effects Society Awards with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Visionary Award respectively. The 24th annual VES Awards ceremony on February 25 at The Beverly Hilton promises to be an exciting celebration of exceptional creative achievements in the visual effects industry.

Film producer Jerry Bruckheimer has been recognized for his impactful career that spans blockbuster hits such as "Pirates of the Caribbean," "F1: The Movie," and television series like "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." His influence on both film and television that utilize VFX will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Wētā Workshop Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Sir Richard Taylor, co-founder of the Wētā companies responsible for designing and providing physical effects for notable films including "The Lord of the Rings," "Avatar" trilogies, and "Thor" series, will receive the Visionary Award.

VES Board Chair Kim Davidson said that the awards are a celebration of exceptional creative achievement, adding that the recipients have made remarkable contributions to the visual effects industry. Actor-comedians Randy and Jason Sklar will host this year's ceremony, bringing levity while honoring the talent and craft of visual effects.

Nominees for the 24th Annual VES Awards will be announced on January 13, further raising anticipation for the event.

Ugh, I'm so over how these awards ceremonies are always a total production 🎉💸. Can't they just have a small gathering like everyone else? And now they're gonna charge even more to attend... The Beverly Hilton is not exactly cheap, you know? 🤑 It's like they want to keep the VFX community rich and famous, but who really cares about the money? The real issue here is the lack of diversity in nominees. It's all white guys again... where's the love for all the other talented artists out there who bring that magic to the big screen? 🤷‍♀️ At least they're trying to make it more "fun" with those comedian hosts though, might be entertaining...

You know who else deserves a Lifetime Achievement Award 🤩? People like my old friends from high school! They're still going strong, and it's amazing what they've accomplished over the years. Not just Jerry Bruckheimer, but everyone who's made a difference in their field, no matter how big or small that may seem. The VES Awards are a great way to recognize all the hard work and dedication that goes into creating those awesome visual effects we see on screen 🎥. And can't wait for the nominees announcement - my husband is a huge fan of Wētā Workshop's work, so I'm sure he'll be super excited to hear about Sir Richard Taylor 🤓!

I'm low-key hyped about these VES Awards! Jerry Bruckheimer is a legend in his own right, especially with all those iconic franchises under his belt 🤯 and Sir Richard Taylor's work on The Lord of the Rings and Avatar is just mind-blowing. I've gotta give it up to Wētā Workshop for pushing the boundaries of VFX. Randy and Jason Sklar are gonna bring some funny vibes, that's a plus! Can't wait for Jan 13 when we find out who else made the cut 🤔

OMG, I'm so hyped for the VES Awards 🤩! Jerry Bruckheimer is a total legend in my eyes, I mean who else can make movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and F1: The Movie?! 😂 And Sir Richard Taylor's work on Lord of the Rings and Avatar? Mind. Blown. I've had my fair share of sleepless nights trying to finish those epic projects at school too 🤣... err, I mean, studying for exams can be tough too you know? 😊 Can't wait to see what other talented folks get recognized this year!
