Lisandro Martinez: Manchester United defender won't be rushed after return to training

Manchester United will approach the upcoming game against Nottingham Forest with caution, given that Lisandro Martinez's return from knee surgery has been deemed too hasty. The Argentine defender has been training with his teammates but was withdrawn early after suffering a slight twinge in his knee.

The 27-year-old had been out since February due to a cruciate ligament injury and was eager to get back on the pitch, but head coach Ruben Amorim is taking a cautious approach. "He wants to go to this one," Amorim said. "He's not going to this one, he is going to take time."

Despite Martinez's absence, having one of his six-man leadership group back in the squad will be a significant positive for the United boss. The Argentine defender gives the team an edge in every training session and that is also really good for us," Amorim added.

However, it remains to be seen how quickly Martinez will regain his full fitness levels after the injury. United's manager knows that Dyche was right in saying that a conventional 4-4-2 formation might have yielded more wins at Old Trafford last season.

When questioned about Dyche's comments, Amorim said he understood why the Forest boss had said it but countered that "if you are a pundit and you don't say very strong things, I don't want to watch you. I'm the same."

With only two weeks until kick-off against Nottingham Forest, United will need to ensure they are properly prepared for the challenge ahead without their star defender.

omg can u blieve the state of martinez's knee tho?! 🀯 it's like he just got back from a tiny tweak and already he's struggling again πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ i get that ruben wants to be cautious but come on, how many times is he gonna have to go down before he can even make an appearance? 😩

anywayz i'm def hyped for the game tho, not having martinez in the squad gives us a chance to see what the rest of the team's made of πŸ€” and i gotta say, dyche has a point about the 4-4-2 formation πŸ“ˆ maybe it was time for them to switch it up anyway?

i just hope martinez gets back to full strength soon tho, he's such an asset to the squad ❀️ we need him on the pitch ASAP πŸ‘

Omg did u know that i just tried vegan pizza 4 the first time & its actually super good πŸ•πŸ˜ idk how i lived w/o it! but back 2 the Man U game... i think its kinda weird that Martinez is already training again after knee surgery tho? didn't they say he needed more time? πŸ€” like, dont wanna be all speedy and get hurt again πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜¬ anyway, hope Lisandro recovers soon & they can just focus on the game!

πŸ€” gotta feel bad for Lisandro Martinez, had been out since February and now he's being held back again... πŸ€• hope he gets it right this time and doesn't rush back into training too soon 😬 4-4-2 formation might be the way to go, don't wanna risk another injury πŸ’”

I'm getting that feeling of dΓ©jΓ  vu when I hear about Lisandro Martinez's return being rushed back from injury πŸ€”. The fact that he was withdrawn early from training with a slight twinge in his knee is pretty concerning. Manchester United can't afford to have him coming back too quickly, especially if it means compromising on performance. It's good that Ruben Amorim is taking a cautious approach, but we need to see how quickly Martinez recovers from this latest setback πŸ₯.

The question remains whether Dyche was right in saying that 4-4-2 might have been a more effective formation at Old Trafford last season πŸ’‘. As a fan, it's hard not to get caught up in the debate about formations and tactics πŸ˜…. But for now, let's just focus on getting Martinez back to full fitness and making sure United are prepared for the Forest game 🎯

I feel bad for Lisandro Martinez πŸ€•, been out since Feb and now he's gotta start all over again 😬. Ruben Amorim is being super cautious tho πŸ‘, I get it, knee surgery can be a bit tricky πŸ’‰. The fact that he's training with the team is a good sign though πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ. With one of his leadership guys back in the squad, United will definitely have an edge πŸ’ͺ. Hopefully he can get back to full fitness soon ⏱️, it'll be a big boost for the team 🌟

omg i feel like martinez's knee is still a bit wonky πŸ€• hope he can make it through the game without any major issues, don't wanna see him re-injuring himself again 😬 tho, gotta give props to amorim for being cautious, safety first, right? πŸ™

OMG, like I totally get why Ruben Amorim is being cautious with Lisandro Martinez's return πŸ€•. You can't rush back from a major injury, right? It's better to err on the side of safety than risk him re-injuring himself again πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. Plus, Dyche's comments about 4-4-2 formations making sense for Old Trafford is like, totally valid imo 😊. It's not just about having a star player back in the squad, but also about making sure they're fully fit and ready to go before throwing them into a big game πŸ’ͺ. Wish Lisandro a speedy recovery and hope United can pull off a win without him 🀞!

I gotta say, I'm worried about Lisandro Martinez right now πŸ€•. He's been out for ages and he just got back on the training pitch too soon? That doesn't feel good at all... Like, I get it, he wants to play and all that but you don't wanna risk making the injury worse and being out even longer 😩.

It's always like this with football injuries - you can never be 100% sure if someone is gonna come back right 🀞. And then there's the manager saying they need to change formations... I mean, I know Dyche has some good points but it feels like we're just trying out different things at this point instead of finding what actually works πŸ’.

Still, with Martinez back in the squad, that's gotta be a big boost for us πŸ™Œ. He's one of those players who makes a difference on the pitch and I love watching him play πŸ”₯. So fingers crossed he gets back to full fitness and we can focus on winning this game against Nottingham Forest πŸ’ͺ!

I feel bad for Martinez, he's been out for ages and now he's gotta start slow πŸ€•, but on the other hand, it's good that United is being cautious with him, we can't afford to lose him in the middle of a game πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. I love how Amorim is being honest about Dyche's comments though, as long as he's confident in his team's abilities, I'm all for it πŸ’ͺ. The 4-4-2 formation thingy is also making sense to me, maybe United should give that a shot and see what happens πŸ”„. But what do you guys think? Should Martinez be rushed back or should they play it safe? πŸ€”

I get why they're being cautious with Martinez's return... he was itching to get back on the pitch after a long injury layoff πŸ€”. But at the same time, having him back in the squad is gonna be a huge boost for the team! It's like having another gear in the car ⚑️. The thing is, though, I'm still a bit worried about how quickly he'll get his fitness levels back up... we can't afford to take any more risks on that knee πŸ€•. And yeah, Dyche was right about the 4-4-2 formation not working last season 😬. United's gonna have to be careful and strategic in their approach against Nottingham Forest without Martinez... they need to make sure they're ready for anything βš–οΈ.

man, i think its safe to say that martinez's return might not be as smooth as everyone thought πŸ€”πŸ’₯ it was a bit too soon and now they gotta take it easy on him. thats good cuz we all know how knee injuries can go 😬. but seriously, having him back in the squad is def gonna give them an edge, just don't wanna see him get re-injured 🚨. gotta respect amorim's cautious approach tho πŸ’― #MartinezReturn #CautionIsKey #UnitedVsForest

ugh man... i feel bad for martinez, been out for ages and now he's gotta slow down again πŸ€•. but at the same time, gotta respect ruben amorim's cautious approach - safety first, you know? πŸ™ it's not like they can afford to risk him getting hurt worse. and yeah, dyche has a point about that 4-4-2 formation... but i'm sure amo will find a way to adapt without martinez. the team's got some solid talent, let's see them shine ✨.

omg i no wut ur talkin bout 🀣. so lisandro martinez is back from knee surgery but ruben amorim dont wanna rush him out there yet. like, fair play imo. u cant just stick ur knee back together w/ duct tape & glue lol. its not good 4 the lad or 4 the team. they need him fully fit & healthy if they wanna beat those forest folks πŸ†. btw i love how ruben amorim clapped back at dyche btw πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ

Omg dont worry about martinez 4 now πŸ™ he just came back from a serious injury so its normal hes not 100% yet πŸ’ͺ he wasnt even allowed to train fully πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ and his knee still hurts πŸ˜“ but having him back in the squad is def a big boost πŸŽ‰ for them, even if hes not ready yet πŸ•°οΈ

I'm worried about Lisandro Martinez, dude... he's been out since Feb and just got back on training, but now he's pulled up with a twinge in his knee again πŸ€•. I remember when Rio Ferdinand was coming back from injuries, it took him ages to get back to form. We can't rush these players back onto the pitch. The 4-4-2 formation might have worked last season, but we need to adapt now. Coach Amorim's being wise to take it slow. It's better to be safe than sorry, especially with a big game against Forest just around the corner ⚽️.

Omg, can u beleev Lisandro Martinez just came back from knee surgery? πŸ€• Like, he was doing so well in training but had to stop cuz of a tiny twinge... 😬 Guess the doc said no rush back yet tho πŸ’” Anyway, at least he's back in the squad now! πŸ‘ But, like, how long will it take him 2 get full fit again? πŸ€” The gaffer is being super cautious, lol, gotta respect that πŸ™

I'm a bit worried about Lisandro Martinez's knee issue πŸ€•... seems like he's rushing back too soon, you know? Head coach Ruben Amorim is right to be cautious tho πŸ‘. A 4-4-2 formation could have been an option last season and it might've worked out better for them πŸ”„. Still, gotta give props to Martinez when he's back on the pitch πŸ’ͺ... his leadership will definitely make a difference in those training sessions πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ
