Man jailed after sending more than 100 'menacing' messages to Labour MP

A Cambridgeshire man has been sentenced to 23 months in prison for sending over 100 "menacing" messages to Labour MP Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, threatening to kill the Prime Minister and other high-ranking politicians. The barrage of disturbing emails began on August 29th and continued until September 1st, with a total of 109 messages exchanged between Lee White, 52, and the Tooting MP.

Police have described the messages as containing racial abuse and threats against Keir Starmer, the Labour Party leader, and other cabinet ministers. In an interview with police, White claimed he had sent the emails because his relative's house was allegedly burgled and covered up. He stated that the messages escalated when he became bored, further inflaming tensions by threatening to kill his probation officer and Parkside police station in Cambridge.

In November 2024, White continued sending menacing messages – this time targeting his own probation officer, stating he would kill everyone with grenades and guns if he weren't jailed. The court heard that the MP had already faced security concerns following a separate incident involving another individual who hurled racist slurs at her and attacked one of her staff members.

The judge imposed a 23-month sentence on White for sending threatening communications, harassment without violence, and other related offenses. His actions left Allin-Khan's office "deeply concerned" and forced the MP to cancel in-person advice surgeries due to security fears.

Investigator DC James Lewis praised the outcome: "Lee White's menacing messages were deeply unpleasant and disgraceful – I'm glad he has been sentenced."

omg, like, this dude is literally the ultimate example of how not to deal with problems 🤦‍♂️! sending 100+ threatening emails to a politician? that's just crazy talk 😱. i mean, i get it, if someone's house got burgled and they think it was covered up, but geez, lee white, you gotta chill out, bruv 🙄. and then he escalates to threats against his probation officer and police station? nope, not cool, mate 👎. and to make matters worse, he's already been warned about harassing messages, so like, what was he expecting? a pat on the back for bad behavior? 😒. anyway, glad the judge sent him to time 🚔, but also think the MP should get some serious protection from the gov 🤝. DC James Lewis is speaking truth 💯

man, can you believe that kinda guy? 🤯 sending all those threatening emails to a politician... it's just disgusting. i mean, if someone's relative's house gets burgled, you call the police, don't send out wild threats on social media or email. and what really got me was when he said he'd kill his probation officer... like, chill dude 🙄. 23 months is a decent sentence, but i'm just glad no one was hurt in all this drama 😊. and poor Dr Allin-Khan has to deal with security concerns now? that's just not right 🚫. anyway, glad the authorities caught up with him and put a stop to it 👮‍♂️

🤯 This guy's behavior is straight outta a thriller movie! Like, 109 messages?! That's a whole lotta crazy. Can't believe his excuse about the burgled house was legit though. It's sad to think that some people get so worked up over something that's not even their problem.

I feel bad for Dr Allin-Khan, she must've been really scared. I mean, threatening to kill the Prime Minister? That's a whole new level of intimidation. Glad the police were on top of it and the judge handed down an appropriate sentence. 23 months is still too long if you ask me, but better than nothing.

This whole thing just highlights how intense online harassment can be. It's not just words, it's real-life consequences for people like Dr Allin-Khan. We need to do more to prevent this kind of stuff and protect our public figures from these threats. 💯

🤯 Man, this guy was literally sending threatening emails for like a month and then got 23 months in prison 🕰️. I mean, can't believe someone thought it was cool to threaten the PM and other politicians with racial abuse... that's just messed up 😷. And what really gets me is he said his relative's house got burgled and covered up which sounds like a pretty weak excuse to me 🤔. Anyway, glad he's getting time for his actions, but can't help feeling bad for Dr Allin-Khan and her team having to deal with all that stress 😓.

omg this guy is mental lol like what was he even thinking sending all those creepy emails to Dr Allin-Khan? i mean, i get that his cousin's house got burgled and all, but come on dude, threatening to kill the PM and other politicians over it? it's just not cool. and poor Dr Khan, she's gotta deal with this kinda thing? 🤕 i feel for her, sorry to say but 23 months is still too short for someone who was so reckless with their words online...

Ugh, this is just so frustrating 🤯. Like, what's with the lack of accountability on this platform? Can't we get a decent sentencing for cyberbully types? 23 months in prison seems pretty lenient considering the severity of the threats made... I mean, threatening to kill the Prime Minister? What even is that?! 😂 It feels like some people still think they can just do whatever and not face consequences. And what really gets my goat is how this guy continued sending messages after being arrested, targeting his own probation officer 🤦‍♂️. The system's got it backwards, imo...

omg this is crazy 🤯 like what even is wrong with people? sending 100+ threatening emails to a politician? that's just so not cool 😒 and what's with the whole "my relative's house got burgled" excuse? sounds made up to me 🙄 i mean i get it, getting your stuff stolen can be super upsetting, but that doesn't give you the right to be all aggressive and threatening on the internet...i don't know how that would even work in court 😂 anyway glad the judge sentenced him to 23 months tho - hopefully he'll have some time to think about his actions 🤔
