just had a kid friend who's been through some stuff with mental health issues and now he's thinkin' about carryin a knife for protection what if there's another officer involved? 
. I'm glad the police are taking responsibility and letting an outside agency investigate, but at the same time, you can't help but wonder if there were other options that could've been explored before things escalated to this point

You'd think that in today's world, we should be more open to understanding people who might be going through tough times. Mental health is still a big issue, but it seems like sometimes our fear and training take over before we even consider reaching out.
