NASA Astronaut Jonny Kim to Discuss Eight-Month Space Station Mission - NASA

NASA Astronaut Jonny Kim to Share Insights from Eight-Month Mission on International Space Station

Jonny Kim, a NASA astronaut, is set to share his experiences during an eight-month mission on the International Space Station. The news conference, scheduled for December 19th at 3:30 p.m. EST, will take place at the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The event will be live-streamed on NASA's YouTube channel and can also be streamed through various online platforms using social media. However, journalists planning to attend in person must submit their requests by December 18th at 5 p.m., while phone participants should contact the newsroom by two hours prior to the start of the conference.

Kim recently returned to Earth on December 9th along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky, logging 245 days as an Expedition 72/73 flight engineer. During his mission, Kim contributed to numerous scientific investigations, including studying bioprinted tissues containing blood vessels and evaluating the remote command of multiple robots in space.

Kim's research focused on advancing space-based tissue production to treat patients on Earth, with experiments also exploring the development of in-space manufacturing of DNA-mimicking nanomaterials. These technologies could potentially improve drug delivery and support emerging therapeutics and regenerative medicine.

The news conference provides an opportunity for Kim to share his insights into life on the International Space Station and the scientific discoveries made during his mission. The event will be attended by representatives from NASA's Johnson Space Center, offering a chance for journalists to learn more about space research and operations at <http://www.nasa.gov/station>.

I'm low-key thinking that we don't need all this live-streaming hype πŸ“Ί. I mean, Jonny Kim is gonna talk about his mission, right? What's the point of having millions watching? It's just a bunch of scientists talking, you know? Can't they just share their findings on the NASA website and be done with it? Less drama, less stress for everyone involved πŸ™„. And what's up with the super strict RSVP rules? I'm good either way, to be honest πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

😊 I'm so stoked that Jonny Kim is sharing his experiences from the ISS! Eight months in space is like, whoa, can you even imagine? 🀯 I've been following his research on bioprinted tissues and it's literally blowing my mind. The potential to treat patients on Earth with these technologies is huge πŸ’š. And, dude, studying DNA-mimicking nanomaterials in space? That's like, the future of medicine right there! πŸš€ I'm definitely tuning in to this news conference on December 19th - can't wait to hear more about his insights and learn from an actual astronaut 😊.

πŸš€πŸ‘¨β€ astronauts are just so inspiring lol... like the whole "being stuck in space" thing is a cakewalk 🍰. But seriously, Jonny Kim's insights on bioprinted tissues containing blood vessels and nanomaterials could be super game changers for treating patients on Earth πŸ’Š. I mean, who wouldn't want to live forever with their DNA-mimicking nanomaterials πŸ’₯? It's like something out of a sci-fi movie πŸš€. Anyway, can't wait to watch the news conference and see what he has to say about life on the ISS πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

Ugh, can't believe they're making Jonny Kim share all this stuff publicly now πŸ€”πŸš€. I mean, don't get me wrong, he's an awesome astronaut and all, but eight months on the ISS is a huge deal, right? Like, how much info do we really need to know about bioprinted tissues or space-based manufacturing of DNA-mimicking nanomaterials? 🀯 It's cool and all, but can't NASA just keep some secrets hidden from us poor humans who aren't living on the ISS? 😜 Just saying...

omg u guys i cant even believe nasa astronaut jonny kim is coming to share his story!! i was literally on the edge of my seat when he returned from ISS last month πŸš€πŸ‘½ and now we get to hear all about it live!!! did u know that he spent 245 days in space?? mind blown! 😲 i heard its gonna be super detailed info about bioprinted tissues and robots in space - sounds like some crazy cool sci tech! πŸ€–πŸ’‘ cant wait to watch the livestream on nasa's youtube channel! πŸ‘

πŸš€ 8 months is like livin in a bubble, dude. Space Station life ain't all it's cracked up to be. Dehydration, radiation exposure... ain't no joke, fam 🀯. Glad he's back on Earth, gotta give it to NASA for keepin it real about the risks πŸ™

I'm super not excited about this news conference πŸ€”. I mean, how many times can we hear the same old speeches about space exploration? It's like we've heard it all before πŸ™„. And what's up with the strict timing for journalists? Who needs to submit requests by 5 p.m. on Dec 18th? That sounds super stressful ⏰. I'd rather have a more chill Q&A session where people can ask whatever they want without feeling like they're being timed ⏱️. And honestly, I'm not sure how much more space tech we need to know πŸ€–. Can't we just focus on solving our problems here on Earth instead of looking up at the stars? 🌎

πŸ€” I'm still not convinced that living in space for 8 months is the answer to all our problems. I mean, have we really thought this through? I've seen some of these bioprinted tissues they're working on and it just seems like a bunch of hype. We're talking about putting humans in space with limited resources and then expecting them to grow their own organs and cure diseases. It's just too ambitious for me.

And what about the environmental impact of all this space travel? I've seen some numbers that say it takes more energy to get people to space than it does to power a small city on Earth. Not to mention the carbon footprint from all those rockets landing back down... πŸš€πŸ’¨ It's just not adding up, you know?

I'm all for pushing the boundaries of human knowledge, but let's be realistic here. We've got some real problems to solve on this planet before we start playing astronaut.

omg is that crazy how long he was up there like 8 months 🀯 i wonder what it feels like to live in space lol does he have any weird habits or stuff he misses from earth? πŸ€” and what's with these bioprinted tissues, is it like 3d printing but for bodies? πŸ“¦ also how do they keep themselves clean up there, no toilet paper just water? πŸ’§

omg u gotta see this πŸš€ NASA astronaut Jonny Kim is gonna share the lowdown on his epic 8-month mission on the International Space Station! πŸ’« i mean, can u even imagine living up there for that long? 😲 he's all about advancing space-based tissue production to help patients on earth πŸ’Š and researching DNA-mimicking nanomaterials 🧬 sounds like some crazy cool science stuff! πŸ‘ gotta tune in on dec 19th at 3:30pm est πŸ‘€ live-streamed on youtube and other online platforms πŸ‘Œ
