NASA Awards Massive Contract for Virginia Launch Range Operations

In a major move, NASA has awarded a lucrative contract to ARES Technical Services Corporation for launch range operations support at its Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The estimated $339.8 million deal, which could be worth up to $1 billion if all options are exercised, will have a one-year base period starting on February 10 and extend through 2031.

Under the contract, ARES Technical Services Corporation will provide launch range operations support services including radar, telemetry, logistics, tracking, and communications for various types of vehicles such as rockets, aircraft, satellites, balloons, and unmanned aerial systems. The company will also offer information and computer systems services, testing and installation of communication systems at launch facilities, and maintenance of range technology.

The scope of work is broad and will take place primarily at NASA Wallops with additional support from the Bermuda Tracking Station in Bermuda, Poker Flat Research Range in Alaska, and other temporary locations. The contract features a mix of cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price pricing structures.

NASA officials are confident that this partnership will provide critical support for launch range operations at Wallops Flight Facility.

πŸš€ just heard about this huge contract with ARES Technical Services Corp πŸ€‘ can't believe how much money is being thrown around, $339.8 million and it could get to 1 billion πŸ’Έ i mean, what's the point of having a space agency if they're gonna rely on some private corp for launch range ops? πŸ€” shouldn't NASA be handling their own infrastructure? 🚧 anyway, this partnership might bring in some new tech and expertise... we'll see how it all plays out πŸ’»

OMG yaaas πŸ’₯ ARES Technical Services Corp is gonna kill it with this NASA contract!!! They're literally the best in the game when it comes to tech and ops, I've been following them for ages and they never disappoint 🀩. The fact that they got a deal worth up to $1 billion is insane, I mean can you even imagine all the awesome projects they'll get to work on with NASA? πŸš€πŸ’« This is like, the ultimate validation of their skills and expertise, and I am SO here for it πŸ’―

I think this is gonna be super awesome πŸš€! I mean, who doesn't love space launches? But on the other hand, isn't it kinda weird that NASA's gonna outsource their own launch range operations to another company? Like, aren't they, like, in charge of everything? πŸ˜•

But wait, what if this is actually a great move for NASA? I mean, ARES Technical Services Corp seems legit πŸ€”. They've got the skills and expertise to handle all that techy stuff. And think about it, having multiple locations to support launch operations could be a huge advantage?

Ugh, my brain hurts just thinking about it 😴. Can't make up my mind...

πŸš€πŸ‘½ man, can you believe NASA is still trying to figure out how to not crash any rockets? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ I mean, $339.8 million is a pretty penny for a contract that's basically just gonna make sure their stuff doesn't go up in flames all the time... which, let's be real, is basically what they're paying ARES Technical Services Corporation to do.

But hey, at least it's not like they're just gonna use this money to build some fancy new spacecraft and leave the launch range maintenance for someone else. That'd be a total waste of cash if you ask me πŸ˜’. Still, I guess it's progress or whatever. I mean, who knows what kinda advancements we'll see come out of this deal? Maybe they'll finally figure out how to make space travel not so... spacy πŸš€πŸ‘½.

πŸ’Έ just saw this news about NASA giving a massive contract to ARES Technical Services Corp for their Virginia launch range ops... it's like, what's the point of even having a launch range if you're not gonna make some cash lol? $339.8 million is pretty steep but I guess when you're talking about space exploration and national security, that kind of money is necessary πŸš€πŸ’₯ I'm curious to see how this partnership works out for them - will it be more efficient or just a way for NASA to fill their pockets with cash πŸ’Έ?

So like NASA just dropped a HUGE contract to ARES Tech Corp for their Virginia launch range ops πŸš€πŸ’Έ, worth like $339.8 mil and potentially up to $1 bil! 🀯 That's some serious cash πŸ’· for radar, telemetry, logistics, and all that jazz. They're talkin' rockets, aircraft, satellites, balloons, and unmanned aerial systems πŸ›°οΈπŸ›Έ. I mean, the scope of work is pretty broad, but hey, who doesn't love a good contract? πŸ’Ό It's got cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price pricing structures too πŸ“Š, so we can expect some interesting math going on behind the scenes. NASA's all about it though, sayin' this partnership'll provide critical support for launch range ops at Wallops πŸš€. Can't wait to see how this plays out! πŸ€”

Man, it's crazy to think about how far space tech has come, but like, what happened to the good ol' days of watching VHS tapes of NASA missions on repeat? πŸ“Ί I mean, don't get me wrong, this contract is a big deal and all, but can you imagine having to wait for weeks to watch a live launch? πŸ˜‚ Now it's just click-and-watch with a 1-second delay... not the same, right?

But seriously, $339.8 million is wild, I guess it's gotta be tough to keep those launch ranges running smoothly, what with all the different types of vehicles and stuff... *sigh* I wish they'd still have more retro-style rocket launches at Wallops Flight Facility, you know? πŸš€

OMG, like, I'm so surprised they chose ARES Technical Services Corporation 🀯! I mean, have you seen their portfolio? They've got experience with all sorts of launches and stuff... I was thinking maybe SpaceX or Blue Origin would get the contract, but I guess I was wrong πŸ˜‚. Plus, it's not like NASA can just choose anyone, they gotta follow these super strict guidelines πŸ“. But hey, $339.8 million is a LOT of money πŸ’Έ, so I'm sure ARES will be able to deliver on their promises... hopefully πŸ˜‰.

OMG 🀩 this is huge news! like nasa needs to make sure their launch range ops r running smoothly, especially with all the new missions they're planning πŸ’« and a contract of $339.8 mil is NO JOKE πŸ’Έ I'm low-key hoping ARES Technical Services Corp does an amazing job 🀞 because it's not just about the money, it's about getting those rockets to space safely πŸš€

πŸš€ I'm all about space exploration and it's awesome to see NASA investing in the infrastructure needed to make it happen πŸ™Œ. The fact that they're going with ARES Technical Services Corporation for this massive contract is a good move, I think. It's always nice to have experienced companies like them on board when it comes to ops and maintenance πŸ”§. Plus, it'll be interesting to see how their services are utilized across different launch locations πŸ“. Just curious though, what do you guys think about the potential value of this contract? Could it lead to some new breakthroughs or missions in the future?

omg, can you believe NASA is investing so much money into the Virginia launch range πŸš€πŸ’Έ? it's crazy to think they're gonna make it worth $1 billion by 2031... i mean, that's some serious cash πŸ’Έ. and the scope of work is huge too - radar, telemetry, logistics, tracking, comms for all kinds of vehicles... like, what even can't be tracked from there πŸ€”? anyway, i'm stoked to see NASA pushing innovation and making progress on those space missions πŸš€.

omg u no how much i've been waiting for nasa to get its act together on the wallops launch range πŸš€πŸ’ͺ finally! this contract is a big deal, like, $339.8 million worth of big deal 😱 and it's not just about launching rockets into space, it's about making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes too - radar, telemetry, logistics... that kinda stuff πŸ€–πŸ’»

i mean, think about it, this contract is a huge investment in the future of space exploration and it's not like nasa is doing it alone either 🀝. they're partnering with arets technical services corp to make sure everything runs smoothly. it's all about efficiency and making sure that launch range operations support is top-notch πŸ”’

anyway, i'm hyped for this contract! πŸ’₯ it's gonna be interesting to see how it plays out over the next few years πŸ€”.
