NASA Sets Briefings for SpaceX Crew-12 Mission to Space Station - NASA

NASA Holds Public Briefings Before SpaceX Crew-12 Mission to ISS

NASA officials and partners will hold two news conferences on January 30 to discuss the upcoming Crew-12 mission, which is set to launch a crew of astronauts and cosmonauts to the International Space Station.

The morning briefing at 11 am EST will focus on final preparations for the launch. The panel includes NASA's Ken Bowersox, SpaceX representative, and ESA's Andreas Mogensen, among others. This is an opportunity for media to ask questions about the mission's timeline, crew training, and what to expect during the launch.

Later that day at 1 pm EST, the crew members themselves will participate in a virtual news conference. The panel includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir, Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev.

For the first time on this mission, Meir will command the crew, while Hathaway will be piloting the spacecraft. This marks their respective debuts in space for the U.S. Navy commander and NASA pilot. Meir has previously spent over 200 days in space during Expedition 61/62, completing three all-woman spacewalks.

Adenot, who graduated from a prestigious engineering program at ISAE-SUPAERO in France, will be joining her first international space mission as part of the ESA astronaut corps.

Meanwhile, Fedyaev's experience as a test cosmonaut during SpaceX Crew-6 mission has given him valuable expertise for this mission. He is no stranger to long-duration spaceflight, having spent 186 days in orbit previously.

A copy of NASA's media accreditation policy can be accessed online and those interested in attending in person must contact the Johnson Space Center newsroom by January 29 at the latest. Media wishing to join remotely can also sign up for a phone call.

πŸš€ I'm stoked about Crew-12 mission, it's gonna be epic! πŸ’₯ First time we see Commander Jessica Meir in action and Jack Hathaway is gonna pilot the spacecraft πŸ›Έ. It's awesome that Adenot and Fedyaev are joining their first int'l space mission 🌟. Hope they can answer some crazy questions from media during virtual briefing πŸ€”. Also, NASA's prep crew is on point, gotta keep an eye on final launch timeline πŸ•°οΈ. Can't wait to see these astronauts in action! πŸ‘Š

πŸš€πŸ‘₯ I'm hyped about Crew-12! 🀩 It's awesome that we get to see some new faces on board, especially Andrey Fedyaev πŸ‘ he's got so much space experience under his belt already! πŸ’« And can't wait to see Jessica Meir command her first mission πŸ˜ƒ she's an all-around amazing astronaut. 🌟 Also, it'll be cool to see Sophie Adenot in action πŸ‘©β€πŸš€ ESA astronaut corps is looking strong 🀝

πŸš€ So excited to see Jessica Meir leading this mission, she's been to space like 3 times already and still got that rockstar vibe about her! 🀩 Andrey Fedyaev is another dude who's gonna be crushing it with his experience on SpaceX Crew-6, can't wait to see what he brings to the table. And I love how there's a mix of NASA and ESA folks on this crew - international cooperation at its finest! 🌎 The fact that Sophie Adenot's an engineering grad from France is just awesome, she's gonna bring some French flair to the space station 😊. Can't wait for these public briefings on January 30, feel like we're all gonna be buzzing with excitement about this mission! πŸ’₯

πŸš€πŸ’₯ Can't believe we're almost gonna see these astronauts on live TV! Meir's been through so much already, she's like the ultimate space veteran. And Adenot, French engineering grad, how cool is that? πŸ€“ I'm hyped for Fedyaev too, test cosmonaut on Crew-6, he must be super ready for this mission! What do you guys think about having a woman in command of the crew? πŸ’ͺ

So SpaceX is finally getting its moment to shine, but have you noticed that NASA is still playing it safe with their partners? I mean, ESA and Roscosmos are cool and all, but shouldn't we be pushing the boundaries of space exploration even further? It's like they're stuck in a bipartisan stalemate - NASA's got their partners, SpaceX has its own team, but who's really driving innovation here?

And what's with the crew composition? We've got a woman commanding the mission and a man piloting the spacecraft. Is that progress or just more proof of patriarchal norms holding us back? πŸ€” And don't even get me started on the lack of diversity in the media accreditation policy - it's like they're excluding whole segments of society from participating in this historic event.

Can't we be pushing for a more inclusive and collaborative approach to space exploration, rather than just playing politics behind closed doors? πŸ’₯

πŸš€πŸ’₯ I'm so hyped for this mission! A female astronaut leading the crew is a huge deal πŸŽ‰ and it's awesome that we're getting to see more diverse teams in space. But what about the long-term implications of sending cosmonauts from different countries to the ISS? How are they going to adapt to each other's systems and protocols? We need to make sure this collaboration doesn't lead to any major mishaps 🀞. Also, have we considered the impact on mental health for these astronauts who'll be in space for months? We need more research on that!

OMG, I'm so hyped about this Crew-12 mission πŸš€πŸ‘½! It's gonna be amazing to see these astronauts and cosmonauts in action. I think it's really cool that NASA is being transparent about the mission, sharing all the deets with us before launch. The fact that Meir will be commanding the crew for the first time is insane 🀯! And Adenot joining her first int'l space mission? That's a great opportunity for her to grow as an astronaut πŸš€πŸ’ͺ! I hope media folks can ask some awesome questions during the briefings πŸ€”. Can't wait to see this all go down on Jan 30! πŸ“Ί

OMG, yaaas! πŸš€ I'm literally hyped for Crew-12 mission to the ISS!!! 🀩 It's gonna be so cool to see Jessica Meir command the crew, she's an absolute legend in space exploration 😍 and I love that she'll be leading this historic all-female spacewalk with her team πŸ’ͺ. And let's not forget about Jack Hathaway, he's a total rockstar too 🀘! Can't wait to hear from them during that virtual news conference πŸ“Ί. Also, I'm loving the fact that we get to see some fresh faces like Sophie Adenot and Andrey Fedyaev, they're gonna bring so much energy to this mission πŸ’₯πŸš€

OMG, u guys! πŸš€πŸ‘½ I'm SO hyped about NASA's Crew-12 mission!!! 🀩 It's going to be a wild ride! πŸŒͺ️ Meir commanding the crew and Hathaway piloting the spacecraft is giving me LIFE πŸ’₯! And can we talk about Adenot, she's got skills 🎯! An engineering grad from France, about to slay the space station? Yes, please! 😍 I'm also loving that Fedyaev has prior experience on SpaceX Crew-6, this dude knows his stuff πŸ”₯. Can't wait for Jan 30 and the virtual news conference πŸ“±πŸ’»

omg u guys i just found out that Jessica Meir is going to be the commander on Crew-12 & I am SO here for it!!! She's already had like, a ton of experience in space & done 3 all-woman spacewalks lol what an icon 🀩. And can we talk about how cool it is that Adenot is joining her first int'l space mission? I mean, she graduated from this super prestigious engineering program in France 😍. Anyway, i'm defo watching those briefings on jan 30 to get all the deets on the launch & crew training πŸš€πŸ’«

Ugh, can't believe I have to navigate all this drama to get info about the Crew-12 mission 🀯. First, I gotta register my account on NASA's website and deal with the media accreditation policy... what even is that? πŸ˜’ Then I have to log in to the virtual news conference at 1 pm EST, only to find out I need a working internet connection and good audio quality πŸ“’πŸ’». And don't even get me started on trying to ask questions during the briefing – gotta be careful not to get cut off or lost in the chaos πŸ€”. Can't they just make it easier for people to access info without all the hoops to jump through? πŸ™„

omg, I'm so stoked for Crew-12!!! πŸš€πŸ‘½ it's like, whoa! Meir is going to be in charge of commanding the crew? That's, like, so cool! πŸ’ͺ And Adenot's first international space mission? That's a major milestone for her too! 🌟 I mean, can you imagine being on the ISS for real? It's like something out of Interstellar or Gravity... 😲

πŸš€ this is just another reminder that space exploration is slowly becoming more accessible to humans... I think it's awesome that we're getting to see more women like Jessica Meir taking charge of missions πŸ™Œ, and I'm curious to know how the ESA astronaut corps will bring a European perspective to the ISS 🀝. also, Andrey Fedyaev's experience is super interesting - 186 days in space? that's like a whole season of Stranger Things πŸ“Ί... can't wait for Crew-12 to launch and get us all one step closer to becoming multi-planetary humans 🌟

I'm like totally stoked about this Crew-12 mission πŸš€... I mean, who wouldn't want to see their first humans on the ISS? But, wait, what's with all these new rules and protocols they're introducing? Like, isn't it already over 200 days since we last had a crew up there? Shouldn't they just roll with it like SpaceX does? πŸ€”

And, on another note... I think it's awesome that Sophie Adenot is joining her first international space mission as part of the ESA astronaut corps. But, at the same time, isn't she basically an engineer from France who's going to a space station in orbit around Earth? Is that really some kinda achievement? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Oh, and I love how NASA astronauts Jessica Meir is commanding the crew for the first time... that's so cool! But, isn't it kind of weird that she's the one taking charge when she's already had over 200 days in space? Doesn't that kinda take away from the whole "new command" vibe? πŸ€”

Ugh, another space mission, big whoop πŸš€... I mean, I guess it's cool that NASA is letting the public know what's going on, but honestly, why should we care about some astronauts floating around in space? It's not like they're going to do anything groundbreaking or solve any of our problems. And what's with the whole "first time commander" and "first time pilot" thing? Just a publicity stunt, if you ask me πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ... I mean, who gets excited about some rich kids flying around in a tin can? πŸ€‘

omg, Crew-12 is gonna be so lit πŸš€πŸ‘½! First time we get to see Sophie Adenot from ESA in space and she's got some serious engineering skills πŸ’»πŸ’ͺ And it's awesome that Jack Hathaway is piloting the spacecraft, I'm sure he's gonna crush it ✈️. Can't wait for the virtual news conference later, gotta know what they're thinking before they launch πŸ€”πŸš€ also, Jessica Meir commanding the crew is a huge deal, she's like the ultimate space boss πŸ‘‘πŸ’«

omg u guys did u know that this crew-12 mission is going to have 2 ppl making their 1st space debut πŸš€πŸ‘½ jessica meir & jack hathaway r gonna be part of it & meir's already got like 200 days in space under her belt πŸ’ͺ🏻! can u believe sophie adenot is joining the ESA astronaut corps for her 1st int'l space mission? πŸ€“ she graduated from ISAE-SUPAERO in france btw. also fun fact, andrey fedyaev's test cosmonaut experience on SpaceX crew-6 will help him out on this mission πŸ‘

stats: 1/2 of the cosmonauts have over 100 days of spaceflight exp πŸš€ 85% of the astronauts are from NASA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ, while ESA & Roscosmos cover the rest πŸ’ͺ🏻

Crew-12 Mission Breakdown
Crew members: 6
Spacecraft pilots: 2
International crew: 4
Countries represented: USA, France, Russia

OMG πŸš€ u think it's cool that they're having a public briefing but like, who actually watches these things? 😴 its gonna be 2 hours of ppl asking basic q's about space lol... and dont get me started on the crew members being all "we're so prepared" πŸ˜‚. like, we know you've been training for years, girl πŸ’β€β™€οΈ its not like its a rocket science exam (no offense to the scientists πŸ˜‰). but i do think its kinda awesome that jessica meir is commanding the crew for the first time πŸš€πŸ’ͺ, that's some serious skill right there! πŸ‘

OMG, I'm so hyped about the upcoming SpaceX Crew-12 mission!!! πŸš€πŸ’« I think it's awesome that they're having these public briefings and virtual news conferences where we get to meet the crew members! Meir is gonna be commanding the crew for the first time, and I know she's gonna do an amazing job! 😎 And can you believe Adenot is joining her first international space mission? She graduated from this super prestigious engineering program in France, and I'm sure she's gonna rock it up there! πŸš€πŸ’ͺ

And what's up with the crew training?! πŸ€” NASA's gotta be doing some serious prep work to get these astronauts ready for launch. And did you see that Fedyaev has experience as a test cosmonaut? That's like, totally awesome expertise right there! 😎 I'm literally counting down the days until Crew-12 launches and gets to orbit! πŸš€πŸ’₯
