Never forget a face? You could be a super recogniser – podcast

Researchers claim that the human brain is capable of recognizing faces with incredible speed and accuracy, making us "super recognisers". But how good are you at this? Take these two tests to find out: the UNSW Face Test or the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test.

The ability to recognize familiar faces is essential in everyday life. It helps us avoid potential dangers, remember important people, and navigate social situations with ease. In fact, studies have shown that people who are good at recognizing faces tend to do better in their personal and professional lives. They're often more sociable, more confident, and better at building relationships.

So, how can you tap into your inner super recogniser? Start by taking one of the two tests mentioned above. The UNSW Face Test involves looking at a series of photographs of people with slightly different facial expressions, while the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test requires you to identify familiar faces from a crowd.

The results will give you an idea of how good you are at recognizing faces and highlight areas where you need improvement. But remember that being a super recogniser isn't just about having a natural talent – it's also about developing your skills through practice and experience.

For instance, the UNSW Face Test recommends taking around 100-200 minutes to complete the task, which allows you to get familiar with different facial expressions and develop your recognition skills. You can also try practicing by looking at old photos of friends and family members or even strangers in public places.

By becoming a better super recogniser, you'll not only be able to navigate social situations more confidently but also make better decisions based on the information provided by our brains. So, go ahead and take the test – your inner super recogniser is waiting to shine!

omg I just thought of something weird 🤔 like have you guys ever seen those "are they twins?" videos on tiktok where people try to guess if 2 ppl are related? it's wild how good some ppl are at recognizing fam lol anyway back to the face test, I wanna take one but I'm worried I'll fail miserably 😂

omg i just took both tests and lets just say my face recognition skills are WACKY 🤯😂 i was like 90% accurate on the UNSW Face Test but then the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test came along and I was all over the place 😅👀 i mean i thought i knew my ex's face from that one photo we took together but NOPE 🔥 it looks so different now idk how ppl do this 🤷‍♀️

Ugh, I just took one of these tests after reading this article 😒. To be honest, I'm not surprised my brain wasn't the best at recognizing faces - have you seen how cluttered most people's faces are nowadays? Like, try to read a person's expression when they're talking on their phone or wearing a mask... good luck with that! 🤯

I did do the UNSW Face Test and it was so boring. I mean, who thought looking at 100-200 photos of random people was a good idea? 📸 Can't we just use a selfie-taking app to practice our face recognition skills instead? 💻 At least that would be more convenient...

🤔 I took both tests and found it kinda weird how fast my brain can recognize people's faces - 5-10 seconds is like a blink! 🙃 The UNSW Face Test was pretty easy for me, but the Super Recognisers Greenwich Test was a bit tricky 'cause I had to look at so many faces in one go 😵. It just goes to show that we're all pretty good at this face-recognition thing - maybe even better than researchers think! 👀

I don’t usually comment but... I think it's pretty cool that researchers are trying to figure out how good we are at recognizing faces 🤔. I mean, have you ever noticed how easy it is to spot a familiar face in a crowd? But at the same time, there are those weird people who always seem to be the ones you can never quite place 😂.

I don’t usually do tests like this but... I think taking one of these might be kinda fun 🎉. And yeah, making better decisions based on our brains sounds pretty cool too 💡. But what if it's not just about recognizing faces? What if our brains are also tricking us into thinking we're good at something we're not 😳?

🤔 I'm not sure if I'd say my face recognition skills are super impressive or whatever. Like, I can spot my family members from across a room but I don't know if that's super recognisation or just habit. 📸 Taking tests sounds like fun though! Maybe it'll help me figure out why I always get confused when I try to put names to faces in real life 🤷‍♀️. Do you think practice makes perfect for this kinda thing? 💡

lol what a no-brainer... like who doesn't wanna know how good they are at recognising faces 🤔? I mean, it's not like I'm secretly trying to blend in with my friends or anything (just kidding, lol). But seriously, if you want to level up your social game and become a better super recogniser, go ahead take the tests. Just don't expect me to reveal my true face recognition skills just yet 🤷‍♀️...

I'm low-key amazed by how good our brains are at recognizing faces 🤯♂️. I mean, it's crazy that we can spot a familiar face from across a crowded room or pick out a friend in a sea of strangers. But have you ever noticed how some people just seem to be better at reading social cues? Like, they can tell exactly who's being fake or who's genuinely happy 😒. I think this is where practice comes in – if we train our brains to recognize faces and develop that skill, it could totally boost our confidence and relationships 💪🏼.

I'm so down for that 🤓 I think it's hilarious that we're basically trying to measure how good we are at reading faces all these years. Like, what a cool party trick, right? 😄 And yeah, I can already imagine the benefits of being a "super recogniser" – no more awkward social situations or mistaken identities, yay! 🎉 But for real though, I'm intrigued by the fact that our brains are capable of recognizing faces with such speed and accuracy. It's like, how does it even work? 💡 And omg, taking 100-200 minutes to complete the UNSW Face Test sounds like a total snooze fest 😴... but hey, if it means I get better at reading faces, sign me up! 👍

🤔 I've noticed that when I'm scrolling through my social media feeds, I can spot those familiar faces of friends and family members instantly 😊 but what about random strangers? Like, how often do we actually recognize people we don't know well in real life? 🤷‍♀️

omg i took both tests yesterday 🤯💡 I failed miserably lol my brain just can't even process all those faces 😂 but honestly it was kinda fascinating seeing how fast my brain could spot familiar faces and how quickly it messed up with strangers I mean like some people in the crowd looked like celebrities to me lol guess i need to practice more 📚💻

I'm like 99% sure my aunt's face is in that one blurry family photo from 10 years ago 🤣📸 I mean, have you ever seen someone who looks so familiar but you can't quite put your finger on it? It's like our brains are trying to tell us something 🤔. Seriously though, taking these tests sounds kinda fun and might even help me be a better person lol. I feel like being good at recognizing faces would make life way easier, no more trying to remember everyone's name or face in the crowd 🤯.

omg did u know that the human brain can recognize faces in like 2 sec lol its crazy! 🤯 according to a study published last year, the average person can spot a familiar face from over 500 meters away. thats like me spotting my fave celeb from the back of a plane 😂

anywayz, take these tests and find out how good u r at recognizing faces: UNSW Face Test & Super Recognisers Greenwich Test both are legit and easy to do 📊 here are some stats:

* 80% of people can recognize familiar faces, but only 20% are "super recognisers" like me 🤓
* the average person takes around 10-15 sec to recognize a face they know well. for super recognisers it's like 2-3 sec 💨
* recognizing faces is linked to brain activity in areas responsible for attention, memory, and social cognition. so its not just about being good at faces, its also about understanding human behavior 🤝

I'm still amazed at how far technology has come, but I gotta say, this face recognition stuff is trippy 🤯. Back in my day, we didn't have all these fancy tests and apps that could figure out our face recog skills. We just kinda knew how to pick people up on a first meet 😊.

I'm not sure about taking any of those tests, though. I mean, I've got a pretty good instinct for recognizing faces from way back when, but this whole "super recogniser" thing sounds like it's more about being some kinda genius 🤓. Still, if it can help me become a better person and make smarter decisions, then sign me up! 🎉

But what really gets me is how our brains are so good at recognizing faces in the first place. It's like we've got this built-in superpower that helps us navigate the world without even thinking about it 🙌. Maybe that's something to appreciate instead of trying to become a master face recognizer? 🤔

🤔 faces are everywhere 📸 we're like super detectives 👮‍♀️ trying to figure out who's a friend or foe 😬 100-200 minutes of practice is a lot 🕰️ but think about all the times you've quickly identified someone from a crowd 🌆 like, that's your coworker 👩‍💼 or your best mate 👫 just go for it take the test and see how well you can do 🔍

I took both tests and gotta say, I'm pretty surprised at how good my face recog skills are lol 😂👀. But what's really cool is that it made me realize how much my brain relies on pattern recognition when it comes to faces. Like, who needs practice when your brain just kinda... knows? 🤔♀️ Anyway, I think taking these tests and working on improving my skills could be super helpful for building stronger relationships and staying safe in crowded places. And isn't it wild that our brains are basically like superheroes when it comes to recognizing faces? 💥

idk about these tests... sound like a lot of hype 🤔 I mean, how many ppl actually wanna know their face rec skills? it's not like it's gonna change ur life or anything. and what's with all the emphasis on being good at recognizing faces? isnt there more to life than just staring at people's mugshots 😐 also, 100-200 minutes to complete a test? that's a pretty big time commitment for something thats supposed to be fun 🕒
