NFL insider 'can see' Patriots landing Eagles star WR A.J. Brown this offseason

Patriots Eyeing A.J. Brown as Top Target in Free Agency, Insider Claims.

The New England Patriots' search for a new wide receiver could be coming down to one name: A.J. Brown. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, who spoke on "Unfiltered with Ricky Bo & Bill Colarulo" show in Philadelphia, the Patriots are likely to make a serious push for the Eagles star receiver.

Schefter's take is that Brown would fit perfectly under new head coach Mike Vrabel, and it makes sense given the Patriots' ongoing search for a reliable receiver. With Vrabel at the helm, the Patriots could be rolling the dice on a high-risk, high-reward move to acquire Brown.

Brown, 28, has been at the center of trade speculation in recent months after expressing discontent with his role in the Eagles' offense. His numbers have taken a hit since November's trade deadline, and he only had three receptions for 25 yards in their playoff loss. However, this year, Brown recorded 40 receptions for 546 yards and four touchdowns in his final six games played.

The Eagles are unlikely to let him go without a fight, though. General manager Howie Roseman downplayed the idea of trading Brown when asked about it on Thursday. The team would face a significant cap penalty if they were to trade him this offseason, but some believe Brown could force the issue and make it impossible for the Eagles to keep him.

Trading Brown would reportedly land the Eagles some valuable draft capital, which they could use as some of their key defensive players will see their rookie contracts expire in the next year or two. The Patriots, meanwhile, have struggled with receiver play this season, making a move for Brown all the more intriguing.

Brown's past experience with Vrabel is also worth noting. The two spent three seasons together with the Titans, where they spoke highly of each other in the past. If the Patriots do make a push for Brown, it would likely put him firmly at the top of their wide receiver depth chart.

omg i think aj brown would be an amazing fit for the patriots 🀩 he's got so much talent and experience with mike vrabel already, it makes total sense why they'd want to bring him on board! but ugh the eagles are gonna have a hard time letting him go lol i mean we've all seen how much brown can do when given the right role, and with vrabel at the helm he's basically guaranteed to put up huge numbers. 40 receptions for 546 yards in his last six games? that's insane! 🀯

idk about a.j. brown to patriots tho πŸ€”... if he's gonna be that reliable receiver pats need, i think they should really focus on building their oline first 🀯 and then see how that plays out? also, vrabel's style is kinda different from mccoy's, not sure how well they'd mesh πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

I think its pretty cool that AJ Brown is getting so much attention from teams like the Patriots πŸ€”. People say hes being lazy with his stats in Philly but I think thats unfair. He's had some tough months and injuries have played a big part. If he joins the Pats, I think Mike Vrabel can get him back on track - they worked well together before 😊. The Eagles are gonna want to keep him tho, they need that WR depth. Its all about who wants it more - Patriots or Eagles?

idk why ppl r so down on matty ice tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ he's been good 2 patriots 4 years now & u gotta think about chemistry w/ vrabel, they've got history together so it's def possible he'd be a fit but also gotta consider eagles rnt gonna let him go 4 cheap lol, i mean browns had some decent games down the stretch, 40 receptions @ 546 yards is no joke! πŸ“ˆ and trading him would hit u with a major cap penalty... think browning out w/ pats could work πŸ€”

I think the Pats should definitely go after A.J. Brown πŸ€”. He's had some big games and could be a great fit under Mike Vrabel's system. The fact that they worked together in the past is a plus too. But, I'm not sure if it's worth risking their entire draft picks to make it happen πŸ’Έ. They've got some talented young players coming up for their defense, so using those as trade bait might not be ideal 🚫. Still, A.J.'s numbers have been decent lately and he's only 28, so I think the Pats should at least explore the possibility 😊.

I think this could be an awesome move by the Patriots! A.J. Brown is such an incredible talent and I'm sure he'd thrive under Mike Vrabel's coaching 🀩. The numbers don't lie, right? He's been killing it on the field lately! πŸ˜† It would be a high-risk, high-reward move but if they can get him to buy in, they could have an absolute game-changer on their team πŸ’₯. The Eagles might be hesitant to let him go due to the cap penalty, but maybe Brown will force their hand and make it impossible for them to keep him 😏. What do you guys think? Should the Patriots take a shot at A.J. Brown? πŸ€”

I think A.J. Brown could be a game-changer for the Pats πŸ€”πŸ’ͺ if they can get him on board... he's been quietly crushing it since November and I think Vrabel would really help bring out his best skills πŸ‘πŸΌ. But, I'm not surprised the Eagles are hesitant to trade him - Howie Roseman is pretty savvy when it comes to managing their roster πŸ€‘. The Patriots' receiver situation has been a mess this season, so if they can pull off a move like this, it'd be a huge upgrade πŸ“ˆ. What do you guys think? Should the Pats take a chance on A.J. or is he too high-risk? πŸ’¬

idk about this AJ Brown hype tho πŸ€”... seems like he's had some decent numbers lately but like 40 receptions in 6 games is still kinda low for someone they're trying to give a big contract to? πŸ“ˆ Patriots need someone who can do more than just show up and get yards, they need someone who can actually make plays down the field. 🀝 Brown's past experience with Vrabel is cool I guess, but it's not like he's going to be the same player he was in Tennessee... teams change and players adapt πŸ“š

I'm curious to see how this whole A.J. Brown situation plays out πŸ€”. If the Patriots are really targeting him as their main guy, I think they'd be taking a risk on someone who's had a bit of a slump recently πŸ“‰. But at the same time, he's still got some serious production numbers and seems like a great fit for Mike Vrabel's system πŸ’ͺ. The question is, will the Eagles actually let him go without a fight? I don't blame them really, they've already taken on a lot of cap space by signing Carson Wentz in the first place πŸ€‘. It'll be interesting to see what happens when free agency starts... might be some serious drama in Philly πŸ’₯!

The Patriots' pursuit of A.J. Brown is a intriguing development πŸ€”. With Mike Vrabel at the helm, it's not hard to see why they'd want a proven receiver like Brown, given his impressive numbers in his final six games πŸ“Š. However, the Eagles would be foolish to let him go without a fight πŸ’ͺ, considering the significant cap penalty that comes with trading him. On the other hand, trading Brown could net them some valuable draft capital, which they can use to bolster their defense πŸ”’. The Patriots' struggles at receiver this season have made them desperate for a reliable target, making Brown's potential fit all the more appealing πŸ‘€. One has to wonder if Brown will force the issue and make it impossible for the Eagles to keep him 😬.

think the patriots taking aj brown would be a big move πŸ€”. brown's numbers have been decent this season, and with vrabel as head coach, he might thrive in the system. but the patriots have struggled with receivers lately, so it's not like they're in a great spot to make a splash. the eagles are definitely attached to him too, and trading him now would be a big hit to their cap situation πŸ’Έ. if brown forces the issue, though, i think he'd be hard to keep without breaking the bank πŸ€‘

πŸ“šπŸ’‘ A.J. Brown could be a game-changer for the Pats 🏈

Imagine a diagram with two circles: one representing the Patriots' offense and the other representing A.J. Brown's skills 🀯

* The circle on the left has a big fat question mark πŸ€”
* But when you draw A.J. Brown in that circle, it looks like this: +546 yards + 4 TDs πŸ“ˆπŸ‘

The connection between Mike Vrabel and A.J. Brown is key πŸ”—

It's like drawing two connected nodes on a graph πŸ’»:

A.J. Brown (node A) β†’ Mike Vrabel (node B)
Both are highly skilled, both know what they want 😊
Together, they could unlock the Patriots' offense πŸš€

πŸ€”πŸ“Ί A.J. Brown could be the key to the Pats' success 🌟! With Vrabel at the helm, they need a reliable WR and Brown fits the bill πŸ“. His numbers have taken a hit since November, but his last 6 games were πŸ”₯! I think he'd thrive under Vrabel's system πŸ’‘. The Eagles would be crazy to let him go without a fight 😱. They'd lose some valuable draft capital πŸ‘€. But if Brown forces the issue, maybe it's for the best 🀞. The Pats need a WR who can make big plays 🏈!

I'm intrigued by this news πŸ€”. I mean, A.J. Brown would be a huge get for the Pats, and Mike Vrabel's coaching style could definitely play to his strengths. But, you know, I need to see some numbers to back up Schefter's claim πŸ“Š. I'm not buying into the hype just yet. The Eagles seem pretty committed to keeping Brown, too - if they do decide to trade him, it'd be a major blow. And let's not forget that draft capital is gold πŸ’°... but at what cost? Would a big-name receiver like Brown really help the Pats win it all in 2025? Only time will tell πŸ•°οΈ.

😊 I think A.J. Brown could be a great fit for the Pats, but let's not get ahead of ourselves... he did struggle in the playoffs πŸ€”. On the other hand, the Patriots have been pretty inconsistent with their receivers all season. If Vrabel can bring out the best in him, it'd be awesome to see! 🌟 Maybe the Eagles are just trying to make a trade to get some cap relief? 😐 Either way, I'm excited to see how this all plays out! πŸ’ͺ

πŸ€” I don't get why the Eagles would wanna let A.J. Brown go right now πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. They just signed Jalen Hurts to a big contract, that's like half their cap space πŸ’Έ. Trading Brown would be like selling a prized possession and not getting anything in return 😐. Vrabel knows Brown from the Titans, so he'd know how good he is πŸ™Œ. If they can get him without breaking the bank, it's a win-win for both teams 🏈πŸ’ͺ

just saw this... A.J. Brown could be the answer to Patriots' WR woes πŸ€”... think its gonna take some convincing for Eagles to let him go tho πŸ’ͺ... don't wanna be a hater, but Patriots need someone with his upside 🏈... Vrabel's influence is definitely a factor here... if they go all in on Brown, it'll be interesting to see how it plays out πŸ‘€
