‘NOLA King’ release date - when to watch 'Tulsa King' spinoff

Paramount+ has announced the upcoming crime drama series "NOLA King," which serves as a spinoff of Taylor Sheridan's hit show "Tulsa King." The new series sees Samuel L. Jackson reprise his role as Russell Lee Washington Jr., also known as 'Lee,' a New Orleans-based criminal and associate of Sylvester Stallone's character Dwight 'The General' Manfredi.

According to the official summary, the story follows Lee as he returns to New Orleans, a city he abandoned 40 years ago, to rekindle his relationship with family and friends. However, this move incurs the wrath of his former employers in New York, making him vulnerable to old NOLA foes, both criminal and cop.

The series is inspired by the possibilities of second chances created by Dwight's character in Tulsa, as stated by Sylvester Stallone. The show will serve as a family-driven franchise that elevates beyond a mob boss series, with Jackson anchoring the new adventure in NOLA.

"NOLA King" will be available exclusively on Paramount+, following the success of other Taylor Sheridan shows such as "Mayor of Kingstown" and "Landman." Production for the series is expected to start in February 2026, with an anticipated fall 2026 release.

I'm not sure I get excited about another show based on the mob life 🤔. It's been done so many times before and I'm still waiting to see how it all goes down differently this time. Samuel L. Jackson is a great actor, but let's be real, he can't carry an entire series by himself 💁‍♂️. And what's up with the whole 'second chances' vibe? Is that supposed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside or what? 😒 Also, another Taylor Sheridan show on Paramount+ just feels like more of the same to me 📺. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good crime drama as much as the next person, but how many times can we revisit the same themes before it starts to feel stale? ⏰

Think this is gonna be a great show 🤔. I mean, Samuel L. Jackson is already killing it in Tulsa King, so I'm hyped to see him bring his character back to life in NOLA. The idea of Lee trying to reconnect with family and friends after all these years is really compelling - you can tell he's got some deep-seated issues 🤷‍♂️. And the fact that it's a family-driven show instead of just another mob drama is a nice twist. I'm also curious to see how the New Orleans setting will play out, it's such a unique and fascinating city. Can't wait to dive in when it drops this fall 🎃

I'm kinda excited about this new crime drama series 🤔💥 "NOLA King"! Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Lee is a great move – he's always brought that charisma and intensity to his characters. I love how the show explores second chances, it's such an inspiring theme 😊. As a fan of Taylor Sheridan's work, I've been enjoying "Mayor of Kingstown" and "Landman", so I'm expecting big things from this new series 📺💪. The idea that Lee is returning to New Orleans after 40 years is really interesting – it raises questions about how his past will affect him in the present...and if he'll be able to outrun his old foes 🚗🕵️‍♂️. Can't wait for it to drop this fall!

This new series is gonna be lit 🤩 I'm so stoked that Samuel L Jackson is back on screen as Lee, he's always been a fave of mine. The idea of him going back to NOLA after all these years is super intriguing, and the fact that it's a family-driven show is great. It sounds like they're trying to make something more than just another mob drama, which I love. And starting production in Feb 2026 means we'll get to see this sooner rather than later, can't wait! 🎥💥

🤦‍♂️ so I just saw this news about Samuel L Jackson's new show NOLA King, and honestly it sounds kinda meh... like, how many times can we reuse a 'guy returns to hometown' plot? 🤷‍♂️ it's been done before with shows like Narcos or Ozark. Plus, isn't the Tulsa King spinoff already out and doing fine on its own? 💸 seems like Paramount+ is just trying to cash in on Taylor Sheridan's success... 👀 I guess only time will tell if NOLA King lives up to the hype 🤔

I'm not surprised Paramount+ is diving into more crime dramas, but what's up with the lack of original content that showcases our diverse city life? I mean, we got shows like "NOLA King" and "Mayor of Kingstown," but where are the ones highlighting community leaders and social reformers? It feels like they're more focused on mob bosses and gangsters. 🤔

And what's with the spinoff thingy? Can't they just create a new show entirely? Do we really need to rely on sequels and prequels all the time? I'm excited for Samuel L. Jackson, though - he's always been a talented actor. But overall, I think this move is just another example of how Hollywood's out of touch with the real New Orleans. 💸

omg u guys idk how i'm gonna feel about samuel l jackson repping nola on paramount+ he's like the real deal and all but lees character in tulsa king was so dark and edgy i hope they tone it down a bit in nola king cuz 40 yrs in the nba ain't exactly the most wholesome backstory lol what kinda story r they gonna tell w/ samuel l as lee? is he reuniting w/ old flames or just tryna lay low w/ the fam?? gotta know more about this!! 🤔👑

u no what's crazy about this new show? it's like they're just rehashing old stories from other shows 🤦‍♂️ samuel l. jackson is supposed to be some kinda mob boss and then he just goes back home and tries to reconnect with ppl? that sounds super predictable lol anyway, i guess if u a fan of the original "tulsa king" show or just wanna see more of syvester stallone's character, this might b interesting 🤔 but personally, i'm not stoked about it 🙅‍♂️

omg u gotta keep up with this taylor sheridan guy lol he's like the king of new york/nola crime dramas now Paramount+ just announced a new show called "NOLA King" and samuel l jackson is back as lee, that's so cool! 🤩 but i'm kinda curious about how they gonna make this show family-driven without it getting too sappy, taylor sheridan has shown us he can balance the drama with some decent character development 👀 anyway, cant wait for feb 2026 and hopefully its gonna be even better than tulsa king 💯

I'm low-key hyped for this new Sam Jackson show, NOLA King 🤔👊. I love how it's a spinoff of Tulsa King and still brings back Russell Lee Washington Jr., but also explores his own story in New Orleans. It sounds like a family drama with some serious crime drama elements, which is my jam 😎. The fact that it's set in NOLA makes me want to binge-watch the entire series, from beignets to Bourbon Street 🍹👌. Can't wait for February 2026 when production starts and we get our first sneak peek 👀

omg i'm so hyped about this new samuel l jackson show 🤩 nola king is gonna be lit! i love how it's a spinoff from tulsa king and we get to see more of dwight's character in the process 💯 plus lee's backstory is super interesting, i wonder what led him to leave nola 40 years ago 🤔 anyway, can't wait for samuel l jackson to bring his iconic character back to life 😎 and with tay lor sheridan behind the scenes, you know it's gonna be a masterclass in storytelling 📺 let's get ready for some juicy drama and family vibes 💕

🤔 man I wonder what makes a guy like Lee take a leap of faith and come back to his roots after 40 years away? Is it really about rekindling old relationships or is there something more at play here? maybe its just people being human and wanting to recapture the past but also not be stuck in it forever 🌃

🤔 I'm so down for another show set in NOLA! Samuel L Jackson's character sounds like a total complex dude - all this about rekindling old relationships but also facing new threats? 🚨 It's gonna be intense. I love how the show is inspired by Dwight's character from Tulsa, it's like they're building on something good here. Can't wait to see what happens with Lee and his NOLA crew! 👍
