Rayner urges Starmer to keep promise on leasehold reform

I'm telling you, this is a total mess! 🤯 The idea of capping ground rents is not only long overdue but also a no-brainer. These investors are literally getting away with murder... I mean, charging people rent on homes they don't even own the freehold for! It's like something out of a bad sci-fi movie.

And now, with Starmer wavering, it's like he's putting all their interests ahead of the people who actually care. I get it, politicians can be swayed by big donors and whatnot, but come on! This is a basic human right we're talking about here – the right to own your home without being ripped off by faceless investors.

I mean, I'm no expert, but even I know that's not how capitalism works. It's time for Starmer to show some backbone and stand up to those who are trying to screw over ordinary people. We need real change, not just empty promises! 💪

man... it's like, don't get me wrong, Labour's on the right track with the leasehold reform promise 🤦‍♂️, but come on, we can do better than just "sticking to their guns" here 💪. I mean, I've seen some of these wealthy investors trying to water down the commitment and it's like, they're not even trying to hide it 😒.

And for real, families are getting screwed over by this system 🤯 - no transparency or accountability, just a bunch of pension funds raking in the cash while people can't afford their homes. It's like, what's next? 😅

But at the same time, I get where Keir Starmer is coming from... he's trying to please everyone and all that 💭. But if Labour doesn't stick to its guns on this one, it's gonna lose momentum and those 5m leasehold homes are just gonna keep getting screwed over 🤦‍♂️.

I guess what I'm saying is, let's hope Keir comes through with the plan and shows some real leadership 💪. We need someone who's willing to take on the big players and fight for the little guy 👊.

I'm getting a bit worried about Keir Starmer's stance on this leasehold reform thingy... 🤔 I mean, 5 million people are affected and it's a huge deal for them, but at the same time, those investors are pulling strings and causing tension within the party. It's like they're playing a game of tug-of-war with the government and Labour's promise. I hope Angela Rayner's got some serious weight behind her when she's pushing Starmer to keep his word on capping ground rents... 💪
