Samsung’s Midrange OLED Got Under My Cinephile Skin

Samsung's Midrange OLED TV, the S90F, is a formidable contender in the world of high-end television. With its QD-OLED panel and Tizen smart software, this mid-range model offers an outstanding viewing experience that rivals more expensive flagship sets.

While not immediately dazzling in everyday viewing, the S90F shines when pushed to its limits with high-quality content. Its deep and nuanced contrast, splashy yet naturalistic quantum dot colors, and fantastic processing all combine to create a cinematic touch that draws viewers into the action. The TV's performance in areas like basic contrast and black levels, screen uniformity torture tests, and motion blur is among the best I've ever tested.

One area where the S90F truly excels is its off-axis accuracy. Even when seated at an angle, the colors and brightness remain accurate, making it a great choice for those who watch from multiple positions. This is an area where most LED TVs struggle, and even some OLEDs can't match.

However, there are a few areas where the S90F falls short. The TV's lack of Samsung's latest matte-like anti-glare coating and its reliance on a lesser-known quantum dot technology may be drawbacks for some viewers. Additionally, the TV's HDMI CEC Anynet system can be finicky at times, and it lacks support for ATSC 3.0.

Despite these minor complaints, the S90F is an excellent mid-range OLED TV that offers a great balance of performance and price. Its revamped Tizen OS is swift to set up, and its picture setup process is remarkably easy. The TV's processing is also excellent, with high-end features like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.

Overall, the S90F is a confident and accomplished mid-tier OLED that should appeal to videophiles looking for an upgrade over their current OLED. As it slowly drops in price, it will only become more compelling. Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly option or a step up from your current OLED, the Samsung S90F QD-OLED is definitely worth considering.

I'm loving the sound of this new TV - the S90F seems like a real game-changer! I mean, it's not perfect, but its off-axis accuracy is insane 🤯. I've had issues with TVs where the picture gets all washed out when you're sitting at an angle, so that feature alone is a major win for me. And HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support? Yeah, that's a big plus in my book 💥. The only thing keeping me from jumping on this TV right now is the price - mid-range means it's not as cheap as I'd like 😐. Still, if you're looking to upgrade from your current OLED or just want a high-quality TV without breaking the bank, this seems like an amazing option 📺.

man I'm so stoked about this new S90F TV, its like they really knocked it out of the park with that QD-OLED panel and Tizen smart software 🤩. its not the most flashy tv ever but when you push it to the limit with some sick gaming or movie nights it just shines 💥. off-axis accuracy is on point too, even when youre sitting at an angle the colors dont get all washed out like they do on other TVs. my main gripe is that it lacks that new matte-like coating and some of those fancy HDR features arent available but overall its a solid mid-range OLED that just feels like a better value than alot of those flagship sets 🤑

OMG u guys!! 🤩 I just can't get enough of the new S90F TV!!! 💥 It's like Samsung finally listened to our prayers and made an OLED that doesn't break the bank 🤑! The picture quality is insane, I'm literally talking cinematic experience right in my living room 🍿👀 And have you seen the off-axis accuracy?! 🔥 No more weird color shift when you're sitting at an angle 😂. Now, I know some ppl might say it lacks that matte-like anti-glare coating and the HDMI CEC system is a bit wonky 🤪 but honestly, I'm not even mad about those things 🙅‍♀️. The S90F is like, the perfect middle ground between price and performance 💯. And let's be real, who needs ATSC 3.0 when you can already get HDR10+ and Dolby Vision on this thing? 🎥👏 Can't wait to pick one up ASAP!!! 💸

I mean, who needs HDR10+ when you can just watch Netflix 🤷‍♂️? Kidding, sort of. Seriously though, this mid-range OLED TV from Samsung actually sounds pretty impressive, especially with its off-axis accuracy and quantum dot colors. It's like they took all the good stuff from the high-end models and said, "You know what? We can sell it for less." The only thing that might be a bummer is if you're one of those super tech-savvy folks who needs all the bells and whistles. Other than that, I'd say this TV is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade from an older OLED model without breaking the bank 💸.

📺 Just got my hands on the new Samsung S90F and I'm loving the picture quality 🤩. The quantum dot colors are insane! 💥 And the contrast? Forget about it, it's like watching a movie in your living room 🍿. I was a bit skeptical about mid-range OLEDs, but this thing is giving flagship TVs a run for their money 💪. My only complaints are that it lacks some fancy features and its HDR settings can be a bit finicky at times 🤔. BUT, the picture quality is so good that it's worth putting up with those minor issues 🎥👍

I gotta say, this midrange OLED TV from Samsung is looking pretty good 😊. The QD-OLED panel and Tizen smart software are major wins for its price point. I mean, it's not going to blow your mind in everyday viewing, but when you watch a movie or play some games with high-quality content, this thing comes alive 💥. The contrast and color accuracy are top-notch, and the processing is really smooth. However, I do have some reservations about the lack of that matte-like anti-glare coating and the finicky HDMI CEC system 🤔. Not a deal-breaker for me, but something to consider if you're in the market for an OLED TV. Overall, though, this is a great option for those looking to upgrade from their current OLED or just want a solid mid-range choice 💯.

OMG u guys I just read about this new samsung s90f tv and I'm literally SHAKING 🤯 it's like the perf midrange oled ever made! I mean I watched a few videos on youtube and the pics look SO GOOD 🔥 the contrast and colors are insane! but what I love most is how well it handles motion blur lol even my old sony led tv can't compete with that 😂 has anyone else seen this one?

📺 Just watched a movie on this thing and I gotta say its colors are insane!!! Like, the quantum dot tech is no joke! 🤯 The contrast is so deep it feels like you're inside the scene... not sure about the lack of that anti-glare coating tho, my eyes got tired after a while 👀 Anyway, 4K gaming on this thing is smooth as silk 💻

I'm so stoked to see Samsung throwing its hat into the mid-range OLED TV ring 🤩! The S90F's got some serious game with that QD-OLED panel and Tizen software - it's like a dream come true for anyone who loves a good cinematic experience on their telly. I mean, yeah, it's not going to blow your mind in everyday life, but when you're watching something epic, like a blockbuster movie or a sick gaming session, this thing comes alive 🔥! And let's be real, the off-axis accuracy is where it shines - no more wonky colors and brightness from the side 😎. My only gripe is that it's still got some of the old Samsung issues with HDMI CEC... but for the price, I say it's worth it 💸. Anyone else had a chance to test out this bad boy? 👀

I think the S90F's lack of that matte-like coating is gonna be a dealbreaker for some people 🤔. I mean, who wants to watch TV with glare all day? But hey, the picture quality is still top-notch, so maybe it's not a huge issue. The Tizen OS does seem pretty user-friendly, which is a big plus in my book 💻. And at that price point, it's definitely worth considering if you're looking for an OLED upgrade 📺.

🤔 I mean, what's with these new OLED TVs? They're like a mixed bag, ya know? The good stuff is that they're actually pretty great for watching high-end content and all that jazz 🎥. But then you gotta factor in the price tag, which can be kinda steep. And don't even get me started on the tech behind them... QD-OLED this and HDR10+ that... sounds like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to me 😒. I mean, at the end of the day, it's just a TV, right? Can it really make a huge difference in your viewing experience or what? 🤷‍♂️

this midrange tv is actually pretty impressive 🤔... i mean its not gonna blow your mind while just chillin at home but when you throw some quality content at it its like woah 👀. and yeah its got those fancy HDR10+ and dolby vision features that all the cool kids love 💻. but i gotta say, the lack of that matte anti-glare coating is a bit of a bummer 🤦‍♂️... and whats up with no atsc 3.0 support tho? still not sure if its worth the price tho 🤑

omg I just got the new iPhone 15 and it's so bright 🌞📱 I was watching that Marvel movie on my old TV and the colors were literally not even close to how they are on this phone 😂 but anyway, have you guys seen any good movies lately? or should I watch that new Star Wars one? I've been hearing great things about it 🚀

I'm still not convinced about this QD-OLED thingy 🤔. I mean, it's great and all that, but isn't it just an expensive LED TV with some fancy paint job? 😒 And what's up with the lack of that matte-like coating on Samsung's flagship sets? That's where I'd really see the difference making a impact on my viewing experience... not this QD-OLED business. 🤷‍♂️ Also, don't even get me started on those HDMI issues - ATSC 3.0 support? What's the point of that when most content isn't optimized for it anyway? 💸

So Samsung's got another one of those, huh? I mean, who needs a fancy coat when you can just throw some quantum dots at it and call it a matte finish, right? 🤣 But seriously, this S90F thingy sounds like a solid mid-range option for anyone looking to upgrade their TV game. The off-axis accuracy is on point, so even if you're sitting in the corner, your fave shows will still look rad. And let's be real, who doesn't love a good HDR10+ and Dolby Vision? It's like the Samsung team just gave everyone a big ol' box of popcorn and said "enjoy your upgrade!" 🍿

I'm really loving the S90F's colors, they look so real and pop on screen 🤩... I was skeptical about mid-range TVs but this thing delivers, the picture quality is top notch! 💯... for those who watch from different angles it's a game changer, no more harsh shadows or washed out images 😎... don't get me wrong the price might not be too low but considering all that you're getting, it's worth every penny 💸... only thing I'd wish for is better HDMI support 🤔...
