As the search for the UK's first "town of culture" heats up, the Guardian is turning to the public for suggestions. The coveted title is set to be awarded to a town that embodies unique cultural charm and character.

A host of towns have already made the cut, including Ramsgate in Kent, Falmouth in Cornwall, Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, and Portobello in Edinburgh, which boast rich histories, vibrant arts scenes, and stunning landscapes. However, there are many more towns that could be deserving of this prestigious recognition.

Now it's your turn to weigh in. What town do you think deserves the "town of culture" title? Is it a bustling metropolis with world-class museums and theaters, or perhaps a charming market town with a thriving arts community?

Whatever your choice, share your nomination with us and tell us why this town stands out from the rest. Whether it's its stunning architecture, vibrant music scene, or annual festivals that bring people together, we want to hear all about it.

Don't be shy – share your suggestions via our online form and help shape the UK's cultural identity for years to come.

omg i'm so down for this lol 🤩 like what's a town of culture but not london?? i think york is gonna blow everyone away with its rich history, stunning minster, and famous festival like the great yarmouth norwich festival which is literally the best music fest in the uk. or maybe even st Ives in cornwall for its amazing art scene, beautiful harbour, and all the talented artists who make it their home ❤️ i'm totes sending them my suggestion ASAP 📝

I'm totally faving this idea 💡! I think Sheffield would be an amazing choice for the "town of culture" title 🤩. It's got such a rich history, from its industrial heritage to its vibrant arts scene. The Millennium Gallery is like, a hub for creative types, and the city's got loads of street art scattered all over. Plus, it's not too big or too small – just the right size for a town that feels really special. I've been there on a few occasions and it's always had this energy about it 😊. What do you think? Have any other suggestions? 🤔

I think I mentioned this before, but I'm still rooting for Bath 🤔. They've got the Roman Baths, Georgian architecture, and a festival scene that's off the charts 🎉. But what really puts them over the top is the way they balance history with modernity – from street art to cutting-edge museums. It's like they're embracing their cultural heritage without getting too caught up in it. What I think makes Bath stand out is its unique blend of old and new, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in culture 🗺️.

I think i'd nominate St Ives in Cornwall 🌊🎨. The town has a super relaxed vibe, with loads of amazing street art and galleries showcasing local talent. And let's not forget about the stunning beaches and coves – it's like a hidden gem (pun intended) waiting to be discovered! What really gets me is how the town comes alive during the summer months with heaps of festivals and events celebrating music, food, and community spirit 🎉👥. I reckon St Ives would totally rock that "town of culture" title 💖

The "town of culture" title is a no-brainer for me - it's gotta be Brighton! I mean, have you seen that place? It's like a microcosm of Britain's cultural melting pot. From its iconic pier to its thriving LGBTQ+ community, there's something for everyone. But seriously, the fact that it's a small coastal town with a huge global reputation is just proof that size doesn't matter when it comes to cultural significance. Plus, have you seen the street art scene? It's like a canvas of creativity and self-expression! The UK needs more towns like Brighton, where culture meets commerce and people come together to celebrate what makes us tick 🌈🎨
