High School Hoops: Thursday's Thrilling Upsets and Dominant Performances

In the Public League Tournament, Perspectives-LT edged out Chicago Richards 76-64 in the second round, while Phillips cruised to an 87-25 victory over Goode.
In the North Division, Young dominated Alcott 84-19, while Taft secured a hard-fought 60-58 overtime win against Schurz. The Lake View Panthers also made headlines with a lopsided 125-21 victory over Roosevelt. On the other side of the division, Jones edged out Northside 67-60.
Simeon High School proved to be nearly unbeatable in its second-round matchup against Carver, winning 85-14. Corliss trailed Ag. Science by just eight points at halftime but ultimately fell short with a 57-49 loss. Morgan Park took down EPIC 87-42 and Julian defeated DuSable 94-43.
In the West Division, Curie pulled off an impressive upset against North Grand, winning 58-31 in overtime. Meanwhile, North Lawndale crushed Collins 69-57, while Crane secured a narrow win over Orr with a 62-31 score.
The Chicago Prep showdown between Rochelle Zell and Walther Christian was too close to call. In the Metropolitan League, Wheaton North defeated St. Charles North 58-49 in a closely contested game.
