. like, come on, it's not that hard - it means the mushy food from that medieval movie, and it fits all the clues perfectly! Erik's whole "it's only in sleep" thing just makes me think of those gruel-filled scenes from Game of Thrones

seems like erik is trying to trick us with those tricky tree & sea lines... but what if he meant something more literal? 
maybe it's not about words at all? idk but CRUEL does seem suspiciously common...

. I've been playing Wordle for ages (remember when you could only play with 3 lives? 
), and I'm pretty sure I know the answer... but I need to think for a sec

. I mean, it makes sense - you'd be in a tree (think of those branches), not in the day (it's a nighttime thing 
), and it's not something you find in dirt or air... And Erik said it was between CRUEL and GRUEL? Genius! 
! The way Erik Kain laid out the clues is super clever, got me thinking outside the box (or tree). My first reaction was "what's with the sea and woods combo?" But then it clicked - he said "not in the day" which made me think of nighttime. That's when I thought of SLEEPS 
! It fits all the criteria: not in the woods or mountains, but you can find a tree-like structure (like a bed frame), and it's only in sleep not in play. Plus, you never see dirt or air, just me 
. So yeah, I'm going to take a chance and say CRUEL
