Wall-to-Wall Cultural Capital: Inside Observer’s Art Power Index Party

The who's who of New York City's art elite gathered at Maison Nur in the Lower East Side for Observer's annual Art Power Index party, a celebration of visionaries shaping the art world. The event was marked by stylish outfits, striking wall projections, and a DJ spinning behind the scenes.

Among the honorees were gallerists, artists, and award winners who have made significant contributions to the industry. Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan, Artsy CEO Jeffrey Yin, and artist Derrick Adams received awards for their innovative work and tireless advocacy for artists. The evening also celebrated pioneers like Muys Snijders, head of art services at Private Client Select, and Ylinka Barotto, Perrotin director and former Guggenheim curator.

The award winners were recognized for their efforts to make artist projects come alive in gallery spaces, museums, and other institutional settings. They highlighted the importance of collaboration and creativity in driving change in the art world. The evening's festivities also featured a private collection of Nur Khan, New York nightlife's self-proclaimed "pied piper" and owner of Maison Nur.

The final honoree of the evening was artist Dustin Yellin, who received the Social Sculpture Award for his work on community-driven projects like Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Brooklyn. His acceptance speech emphasized the need to find common ground and love each other more in order to build bridges between different communities.

Throughout the event, guests sipped Pisco sours and espresso martinis while admiring art pieces from various artists. The room buzzed with excitement as attendees mingled and celebrated their achievements. The evening was a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity in shaping the art world.

😏 I'm telling you, this whole event smells like a PR stunt 🤥. Like, come on, all these high-powered art folks getting together, what's really going on here? Are they just celebrating each other's bank accounts 💸 or is there something more sinister at play? That private collection of Nur Khan's 🤑 could be a clever ploy to distract us from the real agenda.

And don't even get me started on the Social Sculpture Award 🎨. Dustin Yellin's speech about finding common ground and loving each other more... yeah, right 😒. Sounds like a bunch of fluffy PR fluff to me. What I really want to know is what's behind all these awards and accolades? Who's really calling the shots here? 🤐

Ugh I'm so over these Art Power Index parties, always thinkin they're the epitome of cool just cuz some rich people are sippin on fancy cocktails 🍹... Meanwhile artists like Dustin Yellin who's actually makin a difference in their community with social sculpture projects gettin recognition? Shouldn't it be about the art itself not just who's wearing what designer labels 😒

omg u no what's so cool about this party 🤯... i mean, i know it sounds posh but like, it's actually really inspiring 2 c these ppl making art & galleries happen! they r all doing their part 2 bring ppl together thru art & innovation 💡

i love dat the honorees emphasized collaboration & creativity - that's what we need more of in life, right? 🤝 and i'm obsessed w/ the idea of community-driven projects like pioneer works 🌆... it's so refreshing 2 see ppl using art 2 build bridges n make a difference

anywayz, can we get some pics from this party tho? 📸... or better yet, a vid of dustin yellin's speech 😂... that acceptance speech tho! love how he talked about finding common ground & loving each other more 💕

I'm so down for events like this 🎉, people who are making a real difference in the art scene deserve some love 💖. It's dope that they're celebrating visionaries and pioneers 🤩, it's always inspiring to see creatives pushing boundaries 🔥. The fact that they're highlighting collaboration and creativity is super important 🙌, we need more of that in our world right now 🌎. And Yellin's speech about finding common ground was so refreshing 🌈, let's keep spreading love and positivity ✨!

🎉 That award ceremony sounds like it was LIT 🕺, I mean, who wouldn't want to hang out at Maison Nur sipping Pisco sours and admiring sick art? 😍 It's dope that they were honoring visionaries who are actually making a difference in the industry. Like, ylinka Barotto being a former Guggenheim curator is no joke 🙌. And it's cool that Dustin Yellin's acceptance speech was all about love and community vibes ❤️. Maybe we can learn from these art world types? 🤔

Man, have you seen those outfits?! 🙌 They're straight outta 2012, when I used to go to fashion week all the time. Now it's like everyone's trying to one-up each other with designer everything! 😂 And that DJ spinning behind the scenes? It was always like that back in the day, but now it's just on a whole different level... or maybe I'm just nostalgic for the good old days 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, congrats to all those award winners – they totally deserve it! Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan is actually my aunt's cousin once removed (don't ask), and she always talks about how much she loves this stuff. I'm sure it's super exciting for her to be recognized like that 💕. And Dustin Yellin, man... community-driven projects are everything. We should totally get a group together and make some art happen 🎨💖.

🎨 just saw those pics from the Observer's Art Power Index party and I'm obsessed 💥 who wouldn't want to be recognized by the art elite? 🤔 but seriously, it's amazing to see people like Derrick Adams and Dustin Yellin being honored for their contributions to the industry. I think what I love most about events like this is how they bring together creatives from all walks of life to celebrate innovation and collaboration 💪 we need more of that in our world! 🌎 and honestly, who wouldn't want a private collection at Maison Nur? 🤩 Nur Khan's nightlife empire is everything I'm talking about! 👀

🎉 The Art World's New Era? I think it's dope that Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan, Artsy CEO Jeffrey Yin, and artist Derrick Adams are being recognized for their innovative work. It's about time we shine a light on those pushing boundaries and advocating for artists. 🌟 The Social Sculpture Award winner, Dustin Yellin, is also super inspiring with his community-driven projects. It's all about finding common ground and loving each other more - can't wait to see what's next! 😊 This party was the perfect blend of style, art, and connection. We need more events like this that celebrate creativity and collaboration. 💥

ugh, another night where everyone who's anyone in NYC gets together to show off how fancy they are 🤵‍♀️. but seriously, it's awesome to see all these innovators getting recognized for their work 💯. that dustin yellin dude is a total inspiration, I mean who wouldn't want to build bridges between communities and make art happen? 🌉💫 and omg the private collection at maison nur? i need to get invited to this party ASAP 🎉👀

🎉 I think it's awesome that they're giving props to people who are actually making a difference in the art world 🤩! Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan is killing it with her innovative work, and Artsy CEO Jeffrey Yin is doing some amazing things for artists too 💯. And can we talk about Muys Snijders? They're like the unsung hero of art services 😂! I'm also loving that they included Dustin Yellin, who's all about community-driven projects and love ❤️. It's so cool to see people from different backgrounds coming together and celebrating each other's successes 🌈. And let's not forget the music – Pisco sours and espresso martinis are always a good combo ☕🍹!

😩 I'm so done with the art elite thinking they're above everyone else just because they have fancy degrees and expensive taste 😂. Like, sure, Christine's CEO Bonnie Brennan is awesome and all, but does she actually create anything herself? 🤔 I mean, I guess it's cool that they're recognizing people who are making a difference in the art world, but can't we just celebrate the artists themselves for a change? 🎨💖 Not some corporate big shots or rich collectors. It feels like the art scene is getting more and more out of touch with reality... sigh 💔

OMG u guyz 🤩, this Art Power Index party sounds like such an epic event!!! 💥 I mean, who wouldn't want to rub shoulders with the art elite & see some stunning wall projections? 🤯 And can we talk about the guest list tho?! Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan & Artsy CEO Jeffrey Yin are low-key the OGs of the industry 💁‍♀️! But what's really inspiring is that these winners are all about making artist projects come alive in gallery spaces & museums. It's like, they're breaking down those walls between communities & bringing people together through art 🌈. And Dustin Yellin's acceptance speech was EVERYTHING – let's spread some love & find common ground, fam! 💖 Can't wait to see what other creative vibes this year has in store 🎉👀

omg i cant even 🤯, so many talented ppl in one room! like what can u say about christies ceo bonnie breannon tho? she's killing it over there 😂, artsy CEO jeffrey yin is another big name, and derrick adams' work is just wow 💥. but i gotta give a shoutout to dustin yellin too 🙌, his acceptance speech was so inspiring, we need more ppl like him spreading love & unity 💖. and muys snijders as head of art services? that's some next level stuff 🔥!

omg i'm so down for an event like this 🎉🖌️, i mean who wouldn't want to be surrounded by all those talented ppl? but seriously though, it's awesome that they're recognizing people like Derrick Adams and Dustin Yellin who are actually making a difference in the art world. and can we talk about how cool it is that they have a private collection of Nur Khan at the party? i mean, that's like, the ultimate nightlife experience 🍹🔥

Man, I'm still reeling from that Art Power Index party 🎉🖌️! It's crazy to see all those influential folks in one room, you know? Like, Bonnie Brennan from Christie's is totally killing it as CEO - she's a total boss 💼. And Ylinka Barotto at Perrotin, wow, what a trailblazer for women in art 🤩. I love how the event celebrated innovation and collaboration - that's exactly what we need more of in this world! But, can we talk about Dustin Yellin's acceptance speech for a sec? His message about finding common ground and loving each other was so relatable, you know? We gotta keep building those bridges between communities 💕. I'm also super curious about the private collection at Maison Nur - anyone have any scoop on that? 🤔

The Art Power Index party is like, super glamorous 🎉 but also really cool because it's all about celebrating people who are making a real impact in the art world. I mean, having Christie's CEO Bonnie Brennan and Artsy CEO Jeffrey Yin as honorees is a big deal - they're basically the leaders of the art industry right now 💼.

It's awesome to see artists like Derrick Adams and Muys Snijders getting recognition for their work too. They're not just making art, they're also advocating for other artists and pushing boundaries in the industry 🌟. And then there's Ylinka Barotto, who's been around the block a few times - it's great to see her still going strong after all those years of curating and collecting art 🎨.

What really stood out to me, though, was Dustin Yellin's acceptance speech. I love how he emphasized the importance of finding common ground and loving each other more - that's something we can all get behind ❤️. It's not always easy to bring people together, but when it happens, it's magic ✨.

I'm so over these fancy art parties 🙄💁‍♀️. Like, I get it, someone's gotta be recognized for making art happen, but can't we just talk about the real MVPs – our kids? 😂 They're the ones pushing boundaries and shaping the future without all the pretentiousness 💖. I mean, have you seen a kid's art project? It's like they're speaking straight to your soul 🌈! These art world types might be making waves, but my mini-me is creating tidal waves in my living room 🏠💥. Maybe we should be celebrating our little innovators instead of just the big names 💡.

Man I was so down for that event 🤩, but some people were hating on how expensive it is to attend parties like that... I mean, I get it, it's a celebration of amazing people doing their thing, but come on, $500 a ticket? That's just not right 😒. And what really got my attention was when Dustin Yellin gave his speech about finding common ground and loving each other more... it's like, we're all in this together, you know? Let's not forget that art is supposed to bring people together, not drive them further apart 💖.

omg i mean like who else can make a party about art sound cool lol but seriously tho what's up with all these big shots getting awards and recognition? don't get me wrong i love some good art and all but it feels like they're only doing it for themselves and the fame that comes with it. like what about the actual artists who are struggling to make ends meet? shouldn't they be the ones getting the recognition? 🤷‍♀️
