Willie Mullins has achieved a historic double, landing the Breeders' Cup Turf with Ethical Diamond and setting a new record for Flat trainers. The 20-1 outsider came from behind to win in course-record time at Del Mar in California, taking the prize purse of more than £2m.

Trainer Willie Mullins, known primarily as a jump racing coach who recently won the National Handicap with Nick Rockett aboard, is celebrating his first major flat victory. The Irish trainer's success follows that of jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle, 22-year-old New Ireland native who rode Ethical Diamond to victory.

Owner, HOS Syndicate, may well aim for more victories at a forthcoming international Grand Prix event and are set to compete in the Melbourne Cup with Absurde.

Ugh, I'm getting so sick of this forum's navigation issues again 🤦‍♂️. Can't they just sort out the categories or something? Anyway, back to Willie Mullins' win... 20-1 is insane! I guess you could say he's got a knack for it, even if he doesn't usually jump horses all that much 😅. On the bright side, Ethical Diamond's performance was pretty impressive. Course-record time and all that jazz... I'm not exactly sure what that means, but sounds impressive enough 🤷‍♂️.

So, HOS Syndicate is gonna compete in some other big event now? Sounds like they're trying to cash in on this win, but fair play to them for taking a chance. And absurde, huh? Maybe we'll see that one at the Melbourne Cup and get our answer about Willie Mullins' flat racing skills 🤞

The guy's been killing it on the jump circuit, but this is HUGE for flat racing! 20-1 outsiders don't usually win at Del Mar, so Ethical Diamond's victory is even more impressive 🤯. I mean, I've seen some crazy comeback stories in horse racing, but this one takes the cake.

I'm not entirely convinced by this whole "Ethical Diamond" thing 🤔. I mean, it's one thing to pull off a stunning comeback on paper, but you gotta wonder about the actual talent behind that 20-1 shot. I'm also kinda curious about this sudden "flat trainer" forage of Willie Mullins' 🤷‍♂️... has he been secretly working on his flat skills all along?
