Li Deru, a 62 year old Chinese woman from southern China, has taken social media by storm with her remarkable ability to sing in six foreign languages – including English, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, and Italian.
She is unable to speak standard Mandarin or recognize the English alphabet. Her love for singing began innocently enough: her grandchildren introduced her to popular songs on their smartphones.
