French Cruise Ship Lifting Lockdown After Norovirus Outbreak The luxury cruise ship Le Soleil de la Méditerranée was forced to cancel its Mediterranean itinerary and impose a strict lockdown on its passengers after a sudden outbreak of norovirus.
The ship, carrying 1,500 crew members and 2,000 passengers, had been enjoying the sun kissed waters and scenic ports when symptoms began to appear.
The ship's owner, French shipping company Ponant, has a reputation for exceptional service and attention to detail. However, its high end clientele was dealt a blow when the norovirus outbreak struck.
