11-year-old girl killed in hit-and-run with school bus in Brooklyn, police say

Tragedy struck a Brooklyn neighborhood yesterday as an 11-year-old girl was killed in a devastating hit-and-run accident involving a school bus. The incident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Bath Avenue, where the young girl was struck by the bus.

According to police officials, the bus driver failed to stop after colliding with the girl, leaving her lying in harm's way. EMS quickly responded to the scene and transported the victim to Maimonides Hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

The NYPD is currently searching for the school bus driver, who allegedly fled the scene without staying. The Collision Investigation Squad has taken charge of the investigation, working tirelessly to identify the suspect and bring them to justice.

The identity and age of the young victim have yet to be disclosed by authorities, leaving families and loved ones grappling with their loss. As the city mourns this senseless tragedy, officials stress that they are actively pursuing leads and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

๐Ÿ˜” just thinking about that poor 11-year-old girl is making me really sad... hit-and-run accidents like this are just senseless ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’”. It's a shame the bus driver just left her lying there, doesn't even stop to see if she's okay... it's just devastating ๐Ÿ’€. The city should really focus on road safety and make sure those in charge of buses follow the rules ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Fingers crossed they catch the guy who did this soon ๐Ÿคž

my heart is literally shattered thinking about that poor little girl ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ญ she didn't deserve to die in a hit-and-run accident... how could someone be so reckless & cruel? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ the fact that the bus driver just left the scene is even more heartbreaking, like they're trying to escape their own guilt or something ๐Ÿ˜”

anyway, my main concern right now is with the little girl's family and loved ones... they must be going through the toughest time of their lives ๐Ÿค— it's not fair that we can't give them some closure & answers about what happened. i just hope the police find that bus driver soon & bring them to justice ๐Ÿ’ช

This is a perfect example of how a system's failures can lead to devastating consequences ๐Ÿšจ. I mean, who lets a bus driver off the hook after hitting a pedestrian? It's like, what's the point of even having a traffic law? This kid was just 11 years old, for crying out loud! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ The fact that the bus driver didn't stop and check on the girl is unacceptable.

It's also raising questions about accountability and responsibility in our society. Is it the school's fault for not providing adequate training to their drivers? Are we really teaching them well enough? ๐Ÿค” And what about the city's infrastructure? Shouldn't they be prioritizing pedestrian safety instead of just pushing for more roads and development?

This tragedy is a wake-up call for us all, reminding us that our transportation systems are not designed with people in mind. We need to take a closer look at how we're allocating resources and making decisions about public safety. It's time for some real change ๐Ÿ”„.

Man, this is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿค•... I mean, a 11-yr-old girl's life cut short like that? It's just not right. Back in my day, we didn't see kids getting killed on the street like that, especially not by a bus driver who was supposed to be watching out for people. And now they're searching for this guy and trying to figure out what happened... I'm sure it'll be a tough case, but you gotta bring the person accountable for this kinda thing. My heart goes out to her family and all the others affected by this tragedy ๐Ÿค—.

.. just thinking about this news is giving me the chills ๐Ÿค•... it's like, what's the point of even having traffic rules if someone's gonna think it's no big deal to leave a kid lying in the middle of the road? It's heartbreaking for the family and community, but I guess we're all just thinking about our own mortality right now... how quickly can tragedy strike? And what does it say about us that we're more worried about the bus driver getting caught than the poor kid who got hurt first? ๐Ÿค”

Ugh, another tragedy in our so-called 'progressive' society ๐Ÿค•... like, what's the point of having all these fancy innovations if we can't even keep our streets safe for kids? ๐Ÿš— I mean, a school bus is supposed to be a safe ride, right? But nope, it turns out some driver was too distracted or whatever to stop and help. It's just so sad and preventable... can't we just slow down for a sec and think about the consequences of our actions? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Man... another one! ๐Ÿค• Just thinking about it gives me chills. You know how crazy busy 23rd Ave is, especially during rush hour... I remember when my little cousin was in elementary school, we used to take the bus home all the time, and I always worried that something like this would happen. Like, what if the driver gets distracted or something? ๐Ÿšจ It's just not right, you know?

And now, 11 years old, gone too soon... my heart goes out to her family and friends. They're going through so much pain right now. I hope they get some justice, and that the cops catch this guy who did what he did. He's gotta pay for his mistake, you feel me? ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ˜” this hit-and-run thingy is just so heartbreaking, man... it's like, a kid's life was literally cut short in an instant. I mean, can you even imagine if that were your own child or someone you love? ๐Ÿค• it makes me think about how we all gotta be more careful and present on the roads, 'cause one wrong move can lead to devastating consequences.

And what really gets me is that this poor kid's life was cut short, but I wonder, are we as a society doing enough to make sure our kids feel safe? Like, are there enough crosswalks and traffic lights in place, or are we relying too much on drivers' own judgment? ๐Ÿค” it's just a sad reminder of how fragile life can be.

The fact that the bus driver fled the scene is just, like, whoa... what kind of person does that? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ I guess it's a reminder that we all gotta stay vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the authorities. Anyway, my heart goes out to this family and everyone affected by this tragedy. ๐Ÿ™

I donโ€™t usually comment but I'm still trying to process this one... ๐Ÿ˜” It's just so shocking to think of an 11-year-old girl losing her life like that. I mean, can you even imagine being in her shoes? ๐Ÿคฏ The thought of a school bus driver just leaving the scene without stopping is just heartbreaking. I don't know how anyone could do something like that and not think about the consequences.

I'm also wondering if this is going to spark any changes in how our city deals with transportation safety, especially when it comes to kids on buses. ๐ŸšŒ๐Ÿ’ก It's a tragedy like this that really makes you think about what we can do better.

๐Ÿค• what's going on in this world? an 11-year-old girl just lost her life in a hit-and-run accident... can't believe it happened in broad daylight like that ๐Ÿšจ. it's so sad for the family and everyone who knew her. I feel like these buses are supposed to be safe, you know? shouldn't they have some sort of cameras or something to make sure drivers aren't reckless? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ it's just not fair that the driver took off without stopping ๐Ÿšซ. hope they catch this guy soon and bring him to justice ๐Ÿ’ฏ.
