3 people stealing cars, ATMs in spree across Queens and Brooklyn, police say

Three Suspects on the Run After Spree of Car Theft and ATM Burglaries in Brooklyn and Queens

A wave of brazen break-ins has swept through Brooklyn and Queens, with authorities suspecting three individuals are behind a string of car thefts and ATM burglaries that have netted them over $3,500 since mid-October.

The NYPD says the trio has hit at least 14 targets across both boroughs, snatching up to four vehicles and breaking into multiple businesses, including restaurants, salons, and delis. The thieved vehicles are said to be parked in various spots, from residential areas like East New York and Fresh Meadows to commercial districts like Williamsburg and Forest Hills.

The most recent incident occurred on December 27, when police believe the suspects made off with three more cars and multiple ATMs across a dozen new incidents. Since October, the group has struck at least eight times in East New York alone, as well as in Cypress Hills and Fresh Meadows.

While no one was injured during the burglaries, officials stress that the thieves are considered to be armed and unscrupulous. Police released surveillance images showing individuals wearing hoodies and masks, but they remain tight-lipped on descriptions of the stolen vehicles, citing concerns for public safety.

In fact, city crime data shows a 4% decrease in overall burglaries since last year, with grand larcenies down by about 2%. However, experts caution that such statistics may not entirely capture the scope of this particular incident.

As authorities continue to investigate and seek leads, residents are urged to come forward with any information regarding these suspects. Anyone with tips is encouraged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website.

omg u guys I'm so glad police are taking this seriously ๐Ÿคฏ the fact that these thieves r just doing multiple burglaries and car thefts in one day is wild ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ธ like how are they even getting away with it?! ๐Ÿค” and yeah, I get what the police are saying about not releasing descriptions of the stolen vehicles but c'mon we need to know what we're up against ๐Ÿ’ก anyway, let's focus on spreading awareness and looking out for each other in our community ๐ŸŒŸ

ugh this is getting out of hand ๐Ÿคฏ they're basically just stealing from people who are already struggling and leaving them with nothing ๐Ÿค‘ what's going on in brooklyn these days, seems like every other day there's another robbery and no one's doing anything about it ๐Ÿ˜’ at least 4 cars gone each time? that's insane, can't we focus on something else for once? ๐Ÿ’”

OMG I know it sounds super scary what's going on in Brooklyn & Queens but like let's look at the bright side ๐ŸŒž - crime rates are down by 4% overall which is def a win, right? ๐Ÿ’ช And think about how this is actually prompting people to come forward with tips, so that's progress! ๐Ÿค Plus, it's not like they're going to be able to spend all that cash before someone catches up with them, haha ๐Ÿ˜‚. The NYPD is doing their thing and I'm sure they'll get the bad guys eventually. Fingers crossed for a quick resolution! ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿคฏ I'm so worried about what's happening in Brooklyn and Queens rn. These car thefts and ATM burglaries are getting crazy. Like, $3,500 is a lot of money! ๐Ÿค‘ And it's not just that, people's personal property is being taken without any regard for their safety. I mean, who does this? ๐Ÿ˜’ The fact that the thieves are considered armed and unscrupulous makes me shiver. I'm glad no one got hurt, but at the same time, it's unsettling to think about.

I know the NYPD is on it, and they're trying to release surveillance images to catch these guys, but it's like, come on! ๐Ÿค” Why won't they give us more info about the stolen cars? I get that public safety is a concern, but I also want some closure. I hope the community comes together and helps catch these suspects soon. ๐Ÿ’ช

man, its crazy how one group of people can wreak so much havoc on a community ๐Ÿคฏ... like what drives someone to steal from innocent businesses and take advantage of others for their own gain? is it desperation, greed, or something else entirely? and you know what really gets me - the fact that these three suspects are on the run, not because they're caught or punished, but because they're too smart or too cunning to get caught in the first place ๐Ÿคฅ... it's like, where does that kind of selfishness come from?

๐Ÿค‘ I'm not buying it, they're just trying to cover up how weak the NYC police are ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ˜’. With 14 targets and over $3k in stolen goods, that's gotta be some pretty sloppy work if those three think they can get away with it. What's next, they'll be laughing all the way to their next heist? ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿค” I don't think we should be too quick to jump on this guys, ya know? They're just trying to make a living and stuff got really tough. $3,500 ain't bad, it's not like they're asking for much. And let's be real, if they could hit up 14 targets in one month, that's some sick skills right there ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, the NYPD is saying they're armed and unscrupulous but we don't really know what their story is, you feel me? They might've been doing this for years and just got caught up with the wrong crowd or something. We shouldn't be so hasty to condemn them without knowing all the facts ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

omg this guy is getting away w/ like $3k+ and nobody can catch him yet ๐Ÿคฏ the only good thing is that no one got hurt but still, gotta feel for all those business owners who lost their stuff ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿš— I mean, NYPD is trying to keep it lowkey about the stolen cars but honestly, how many more times can they hide something from us? ๐Ÿ™„

Ugh, this just shows how vulnerable our communities are, you know? I mean, $3,500 worth of stolen goods and people getting hurt by these masked individuals... it's like they're playing with fire ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ. You gotta ask yourself, what's the police department doing to keep us safe? Are they doing enough to bring these suspects down?

And don't even get me started on how they're not releasing specific details about the stolen vehicles... it's like they're trying to keep it under wraps ๐Ÿค. I'm all for public safety, but transparency is key here. We deserve to know what's going on in our own neighborhoods.

This whole thing just smells like another case of law and order being washed over with bureaucracy ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. It's time for the city to step up its game and take action against these thieves once and for all ๐Ÿ”ฉ. We need real leadership, not just empty promises ๐Ÿค”.

I find it rather intriguing that despite the overall decline in burglaries, this specific wave of car thefts and ATM burglaries has managed to net the suspects such a substantial amount of money โ€“ $3,500 to be exact ๐Ÿค‘. It raises questions about the effectiveness of current crime prevention strategies and whether authorities are adequately addressing the root causes of these types of incidents.

Furthermore, I'd like to see more comprehensive analysis on the correlation between this surge in burglaries and potential socioeconomic factors at play, such as poverty or lack of opportunities in certain neighborhoods ๐Ÿค”. While I understand the NYPD's concern for public safety, I believe it's essential to consider a broader perspective when addressing crime rates.

The fact that surveillance images are available but no clear descriptions of the stolen vehicles can be provided is quite telling ๐Ÿ˜•. It highlights the need for more robust community engagement and collaboration between law enforcement and residents in order to effectively identify and apprehend these suspects ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ Can you believe these thieves are already making off with over $3,500?! They're like "I'm rich" ATM break-ins... meanwhile, the NYPD is still trying to figure out which cars they've stolen ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚ And what's up with all these people driving around with no insurance? ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ‘€

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ก This is getting out of hand! Like, what's going on here?! First, we have people stealing cars left and right, and then they're hitting ATMs too? And it's not just that, but they're doing this for like, over $3,500?! That's insane! ๐Ÿคฏ And the fact that no one got hurt doesn't make me feel any better. It's all about being brazen and getting away with it, I guess... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

And what's up with the NYPD not giving us much to work with? Like, we have surveillance images, but they won't give out the descriptions of the stolen cars?! That's just not right. It feels like they're hiding something. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

I'm seriously worried about our community right now. Crime is on the rise and it feels like no one is doing anything about it. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ We need to come together as a community and report any suspicious activity. We can't just sit around and wait for someone else to do something! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ˜’ Can't believe we're still dealing with car thieves and ATM burglars in Brooklyn and Queens... like, what's next? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ At least they're not hurting anyone, but $3,500 is no joke, fam! ๐Ÿ’ธ I mean, I know crime rates are down overall, but this string of break-ins is just so... brazen. ๐Ÿ˜Ž And the NYPD is all secretive about it too, like they're hiding something ๐Ÿคซ. I guess that's why we need Crime Stoppers, right? ๐Ÿ™ It's always good to have a hotline for those who want to do the right thing (i.e., not be a car thief). ๐Ÿ˜‰

omg u guys i cant believe what's been happening in bkyln & qns ๐Ÿคฏ there r these 3 ppl runnin around stealin cars & bustin into atm's & restaurants like they own da place ๐Ÿ˜ฑ its crazy! and they're gettin away w/ like $3500 already ๐Ÿค‘ i hope the nypd catches them soon tho, cuz thats just not right ๐Ÿ˜ค but at least crime stats are down overall, so i guess dat's a lil bit of good news ๐Ÿ’ก

๐Ÿค” ugh i dont get why they have to release those surveillance pics already got one look at that group face and its like theyre trying to blend in lol what can we really expect from these ppl? ๐Ÿค‘ 3k is just money but it's the principle that matters right? how do u feel about the NYPD tho? think dey r doin enuf to keep us safe or r we just waitin for somethin bad 2 happen

ugh, another bunch of thieves on the loose ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ˜’ they're making off with all this cash and causing problems for legit businesses... it's just frustrating when you see that kind of brazen stuff happening in your own backyard ๐Ÿคฏ at least 3,500 bucks is a pretty sweet haul tho ๐Ÿ’ธ and the worst part is, no one was hurt... guess that's all that matters to them ๐Ÿ˜ meanwhile, crime stats are saying we're down by 4% overall, but who really trusts those numbers? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ sounds like these 3 suspects are just getting away with it for now ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, come on! A 4% decrease in burglaries is not exactly something to celebrate when these guys are just brazenly stealing cars and breaking into businesses left and right ๐Ÿคฏ. And now they're running around with like $3,500? It's just not adding up ๐Ÿค‘. And what's up with the NYPD being super tight-lipped about the stolen vehicles? Can't they at least give us some leads on what we're looking at here? ๐Ÿ˜’ The fact that they're saying these guys are armed and unscrupulous is definitely a concern, but can't we get some more concrete info? ๐Ÿ’ก It's like they're just trying to sweep this under the rug ๐Ÿคฅ. I hope the Crime Stoppers Hotline gets flooded with tips and these guys get caught ASAP! โฐ

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฌ this is crazy, $3,500 is a lot of cash... like who does that? ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, i get it, you need money but smashing up cars and stealing atms is not the answer... ๐Ÿ˜” what if they hurt someone during the chase or something? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway, 4% decrease in burglaries is kinda cool tho... ๐Ÿ‘

"Where there is much conflict, there can be no peace." - Martin Luther King Jr ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ’ญ It's like, crime rates are down overall in NYC, but then this one incident comes up and it's all over the news. What's going on? Are we seeing a trend of more organized thefts or just some random bad guys?
