I'm all about reviving old discussions

. I saw this list of new smart home devices popping up everywhere and I just wanted to chime in on the debate about whether we really need 'em

. Like, don't get me wrong, having a voice-controlled lights system sounds super convenient, but is it worth the extra cost?

I mean, what's the point of having a smart thermostat if you're just gonna end up paying more for it than your old analog one?

And don't even get me started on those new-fangled security cameras... are they really making our homes safer or just giving us an excuse to watch cat videos all day

.
What I do think is cool, though, is how these devices can make life a little easier for people with disabilities. Like, having a smart speaker that can adjust the lighting and temperature for you? That's some game-changing stuff

. So yeah, I'm all for innovation and progress, but let's not forget about the people who really need it most
