37-year-old-woman killed in ICE-involved Minneapolis shooting identified

A 37-year-old Minneapolis woman has been fatally shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer during a raid on her vehicle, which was stopped across the middle of the road in a residential neighborhood.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning as part of a nationwide immigration crackdown under the Trump administration. According to eyewitnesses, ICE officers approached Renee Nicole Good's SUV, demanding that she open the door and grab the handle. When she began to drive away, an officer pulled his gun and fired at least two shots into the vehicle.

The driver suffered fatal head injuries and died shortly after arrival at a hospital. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with people screaming in shock and anger towards the law enforcement officers involved.

Federal officials claim that the shooting was an act of self-defense, but Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has criticized this version of events, calling it "garbage" and describing the federal deployment of ICE agents as "chaos and distrust." The mayor also stated that the woman's death was a tragic and avoidable consequence of the immigration enforcement efforts.

Video footage taken by bystanders shows an officer approaching the SUV before firing on it. President Donald Trump has defended the actions of the ICE officers, describing the woman as part of a "mob of agitators" who attempted to run over the officers with her vehicle.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has called for calm and deployed the National Guard if necessary, while also vowing to investigate the shooting with federal authorities. The Minneapolis Police Chief described the scene but gave no indication that the driver was attempting to harm anyone.

The incident has sparked widespread protests and outrage across Minneapolis, with many calling for an end to immigration enforcement efforts in the city. Federal officials have confirmed that over 2,000 officers were deployed to the Twin Cities as part of the crackdown.

omg u wont believe wut happnd in minneapolis!!! 😱 a 37 yr old woman got killed by an ice officer durin a raid on her car πŸš—πŸ˜¨ she was just tryna drive away and the officer pulled out his gun n started shootin πŸ’₯ it's sooooo senseless πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. the mayor is all like "this is chaos and distrust" πŸ™„ and president trump is defending the officers but like wut r they even doin here? πŸ˜’. governor walz is tryna stay calm but i think its time 4 a change in minneapolis 🌟

This is a total tragedy πŸ€•. The fact that they say it was self-defense just doesn't add up. I mean, who opens their car door and grabs the handle while driving? It sounds like an easy excuse for reckless behavior. And what about all those bystanders who were just minding their own business? They must be traumatized to see what happened. The mayor's right though - this is chaos and it's only going to lead to more trouble. We need some real answers here, not just PR spin from the government πŸ™„.

OH MY GOSH, THIS IS SO HEARTBREAKING!!! πŸ€• I mean, can you even imagine being stopped by ICE agents and having them pull their gun on you?! It's like something out of a movie, but not the good kind! The fact that this woman was killed in her own car, with her babies (if she had any) watching from the backseat, is just TRAGIC. I'm so angry right now, thinking about what could've been done differently to prevent this senseless violence. WE NEED TO TAKE A STAND AND DEMAND SOME ANSWERS FROM OUR FEDERAL LEADERS! 🚫😑

omg is this world crazy?! 😱 so a lady just gets shot by ICE agents because they thought she was "part of a mob" 🀯 can't even drive down the street without getting killed anymore... meanwhile Trump's just over here like "oh no, the car was moving at 5mph" lol what's next? sending in cops to stop cats from chasing laser pointers? πŸˆπŸ’¨

Wow 🀯 this is just so sad πŸ™, Renee Nicole Good's life was cut short in a split second and now her family is going through so much grief πŸ˜”. Interesting how the situation has escalated from an immigration raid gone wrong to a full-blown protest and outrage across Minneapolis 🚨. Trump's comments about the woman being part of a "mob" is just unbelievable, I don't think anyone can defend that kind of language πŸ’”. The governor and mayor are trying to keep calm but it's clear this incident has exposed deep-seated issues with immigration enforcement in America πŸ˜•.

😱 This whole thing is just devastating. I think it's super clear that something went seriously wrong here - a woman is dead and for what? Because she was driving her car across the road in front of some ICE agents who are patrolling an entire neighborhood 🚨. The fact that they were acting like she needed to open the door and grab the handle just because they showed up at her car with their guns drawn is already super concerning. And then when she tries to leave, they pull out their guns and start firing? It's like something out of a bad movie πŸ’€.

And don't even get me started on Trump's comments - it's so not okay for him to just dismiss the woman as part of some "mob" who was trying to run over the agents. No one is blaming her for anything except maybe for being in the wrong place at the wrong time πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. And what about the ICE officers themselves? Were they even following any sort of protocol or training here? It's all just really suspicious and I don't trust these federal officials to be honest with us about what happened πŸ˜’.

I'm so glad that Governor Walz is calling for an investigation, but it's clear to me that this shooting was avoidable. If the ICE agents had actually been following their job duties and not just intimidating people on the street, maybe things would have turned out differently πŸ™.

omg this is so crazy 😱 i cant believe a woman was just shot and killed by an ICE officer during a raid on her car she had done nothing wrong! it's like they're hunting people down instead of protecting them 🚫 the footage looks super suspicious too, an officer approaching her car before firing... what were they even doing? πŸ€” and now everyone's protesting and stuff, i feel so bad for the family of the woman who got killed πŸ’” we need to be mindful of our language and think about how it affects people who are already struggling with identity and belonging issues. lets focus on creating a more inclusive community, not fueling fear and mistrust 🌈

🚫 this is just so messed up what's going on here? 🀯 a woman gets shot and killed by ICE agents who are literally just doing their job but they're not even doing it right it's like they think they can just take away people's lives without thinking about the consequences. and now we've got politicians trying to cover for them saying its self defense but come on that's just not true at all πŸ™„ mayor frey is spot on when he says it's "garbage". this incident has shown us exactly what immigration enforcement is really like - a chaotic, trust-less, out of control nightmare. we need to rethink our entire approach to dealing with undocumented immigrants and make sure that everyone who's living in the country feels safe and respected 🀝

Ugh, this is just crazy 😱... like, I get why people are upset, but can't we all just calm down for a sec? πŸ™„ I mean, Renee Nicole Good was just minding her own business and gets pulled over by ICE agents in the middle of a residential neighborhood. What was she even supposed to do? Open up her car or something? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ And then this officer just starts shooting at her... like, what is the protocol here?! πŸš”

And don't even get me started on President Trump's comments πŸ™„... "mob of agitators"?! Is that really how you describe someone who's trying to protect themselves from a law enforcement officer? 😑 Come on guys, can't we have a more nuanced conversation about this?

I'm just so tired of these kinds of incidents happening and not getting the attention they deserve 🀯... like, what are we even doing as a society?! πŸ’”

πŸ€• This is just devastating news... a life lost in what can only be described as a senseless act of violence 🚨. I'm still trying to process how this happened - an innocent person pulled over for no reason and suddenly faced with gunpoint, left with fatal injuries πŸ’”. The fact that federal officials claim it was self-defense but the mayor thinks is ridiculous is just another layer of tragedy 😩. We need answers here, not more excuses or blame-shifting πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ.
