man this guy trent alexander-arnold is having a rough time i feel bad for him, he's like a boy scout who got lost in the woods but xabi alonso trying to help him out is super cool it's like he's saying 'hey, you're from liverpool, chill, and enjoy the ride' and it's true, alexander-arnold needs time to adjust after that injury, maybe this is the wake-up call he needed anyway, i'm curious how the fans will react, are they gonna be super hostile or just give him some love only time (and alonso's message) will tell

I feel bad for Trent, he left under a cloud and now he's gotta face the music at Anfield. I mean, Alonso is trying to give him some words of encouragement but it's not like the fans are going to forget that he walked out on the club. Still, you can't deny the history between Alonso and Alexander-Arnold, they've got a special bond. And let's be real, Alonso has been through similar situations himself so he knows what it's like to get a rough welcome back. Maybe, just maybe, this match will be a chance for Trent to prove himself all over again and show the fans that he still has what it takes. Fingers crossed!

I'm not sure I buy Xabi Alonso's "just enjoy it" vibe . If Alexander-Arnold is leaving Real Madrid, that already says something about how he's perceived in Spain. And then this guy comes back to Anfield with a hamstring injury? That's like throwing him into the deep end without giving him time to warm up . I'm not saying he can't handle it, but come on, Xabi - be realistic here! The fans aren't going to make it easy for him just because you're his old mate. Where's the source on Alexander-Arnold being "born and bred" in Liverpool? That sounds like a pretty big claim to me .

I'm not sure if Xabi Alonso is being too optimistic about Trent Alexander-Arnold's return, tbh . I mean, Alexander-Arnold did leave in pretty dramatic fashion last time around , and the fans were pretty vocal about their disappointment. But at the same time, it's hard to deny that Alonso has a point - Alexander-Arnold is a top player, and he needs time to get back up to speed after that injury .

I'm hoping that some of the fans will be able to put aside their differences and welcome him back with an open mind (and maybe even a warm-up lap around Anfield ). Alonso's message of support for Alexander-Arnold is definitely a positive one, but we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out . Maybe the fans will surprise us and give Alexander-Arnold a hero's welcome after all . Wouldn't that be something though?
