As the Obama Center nears completion, a long-neglected Jackson Park pavilion finally gets its due

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s really cool that they’re finally giving the Burnham Building some TLC after all these years 🤗. It’s crazy how something that old can still be so beautiful and iconic. And yeah, I get why it needs some money to fix up - who wants to see a historic building just fall apart? 🤑 But at the same time, I feel bad for the people of Chicago because Jackson Park is already kinda struggling with underinvestment... they need more than just one project to get things going again 💸. And omg have you heard about the Obama Presidential Center that’s opening up nearby? That's gonna be HUGE! 🤯 But seriously, there are still so many other historic projects in Jackson Park that could use some love too... like that crazy old bridge - I mean, who builds a bridge and then just leaves it to fall into disrepair? 😂

🤯 finally, someone's picking up after the Burnham Building in Jackson Park 🙄 it's been a mess for years, and I'm not even gonna get into how embarrassing it was when that SUV driver tried to 'improve' the structure by smashing into it 😂. On a more serious note, it's awesome they're getting some cash from HUD to fix this place up - can't wait to see it shine again 🌞.

And omg, a new roof? Spanish clay tile no less? That sounds 💁‍♀️ luxurious. But seriously, accessibility and safety improvements are long overdue for Jackson Park 🚶‍♂️🚪. I mean, the Obama Presidential Center is gonna be massive - hope they can do right by this beautiful park and its history.

Clarence Darrow Bridge, though... still off-limits? That's like a ticking time bomb just waiting to happen ⏰. Come on, Chicago Park District, get that fixed ASAP! 🔧
