Australian Open: Aryna Sabalenka brushes aside teenager Iva Jovic as Coco Gauff is crushed by Elina Svitolina

Belarusian tennis star Aryna Sabalenka has brushed aside a teenage challenge from Iva Jovic in her quarterfinal victory at the Australian Open, while American teenager Coco Gauff suffered a crushing defeat to Ukrainian opponent Elina Svitolina.

In the highly anticipated match between the world No 1 and the 18-year-old American, Sabalenka dropped just three games against Jovic in a convincing 6-3 6-0 victory. The Belarusian star's performance was a testament to her experience and skill on the court, as she dominated the young challenger with ease.

Despite being the underdog in the match, Svitolina put up a strong fight, but ultimately fell short against Gauff. The Ukrainian player produced a solid display of tennis, but made too many unforced errors, including five double faults, which ultimately proved to be her undoing.

Gauff's performance was described as "shocking" by Sky Sports pundit Tim Henman, who praised Svitolina for taking advantage of the American's struggles with her serve. Jamie Murray, another Sky Sports commentator, also expressed disappointment at Gauff's display, stating that she "rightfully took it out on the racket in the tunnel at the end of the match".

The win marked Sabalenka's fourth straight Australian Open semi-final appearance, while Svitolina will now move on to face the Belarusian star in the next round. The Ukrainian player has shown resilience and determination throughout her career, and will be looking to capitalize on this momentum as she heads into the semi-finals.

As the heat stress scale reached a record-high 5.0 at Rod Laver Arena, Sabalenka's efficiency and composure under pressure were crucial in securing her victory. The Belarusian star's ability to adapt to the scorching conditions was a testament to her experience on the court, as she remained focused and determined throughout the match.

With the semi-finals just around the corner, both Sabalenka and Svitolina will be looking to build momentum and secure their places in the finals. The stage is set for an exciting showdown between two of the world's top players.

Aww man, can't say I'm surprised by Gauff's exit ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ... I mean, who wouldn't get dominated 6-0 at home? ๐Ÿ˜‚ Guess you could say Svitolina just took it to the USG (USA Games)? ๐Ÿ˜‰

On a more serious note, Sabalenka's performance was pretty impressive, especially considering how hot it must've been out there ๐Ÿคฏ. I'm loving her composure under pressure โ€“ she's definitely got what it takes to make a deep run in the tournament.

Also, gotta give props to Jovic for being brave enough to take on a top player like Sabalenka at just 18 years old ๐Ÿ‘. That's some serious guts right there ๐Ÿ’ช. Now, let's see how Svitolina bounces back from this loss ๐Ÿค”.

omg i'm literally dyin over aryna sabalenka!! ๐Ÿ˜ she was on fire out there ๐ŸŒช๏ธ! that 6-0 2nd set was insane ๐Ÿคฏ her movement and footwork were so sharp, she literally glided across the court ๐Ÿ’ƒ! and don't even get me started on her serve ๐Ÿ˜ฒ it's like she just served up aces all day ๐ŸŽ‰ i'm so hyped for the semis now!! sabalenka vs svitolina is gonna be EPIC ๐Ÿ”ฅ

OMG I'm so hyped for these semis!!! Aryna Sabalenka is on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽพ, but Svitolina is no slouch either! I love how she's always giving it her all ๐Ÿ’ช, and now she gets to take on Aryna in the semis. This is gonna be a battle for the ages ๐Ÿคฏ, can't wait to see who comes out on top! ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿ˜‚ I feel so bad for Coco Gauff she got totally destroyed on serve ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ, can't even get her serves right in the big match ๐Ÿ˜ฉ, and it's like Jamie Murray said she "rightfully took it out on the racket" ๐ŸŽพ, but I think that's just a nice way of saying she threw a tantrum in frustration ๐Ÿ™„. Poor girl needs to work on her mental game and learn to handle pressure ๐Ÿ’ช.

idk how americans can train tennis so badly lol ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ 5 double faults in one match? that's like a noob's worst nightmare ๐Ÿ˜‚ and yeah, sabalenka played her a$$ off ๐ŸŽพ coco gauff better get it together ASAP ๐Ÿ‘€

I gotta say, I'm soooo surprised Coco Gauff got destroyed by Elina Svitolina ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฏ that American teen was expected to take it all the way and now she's out? ๐ŸŽพ Sabalenka's win just proves how hyped people are for her and I think she's gonna choke in the semis lol ๐Ÿ™„ don't get me wrong, Aryna is an amazing player and all but I'm rooting for Svitolina to take it all the way now ๐Ÿ’ช
