Blue Jays’ John Schneider Sends Dodgers Message After Kyle Tucker Update

Blue Jays Manager John Schneider Leaves Little Doubt About Interest in Kyle Tucker, Notably Unlike Shohei Ohtani Visit.

Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins confirmed that outfielder Kyle Tucker visited the team's player development complex (PDC) in Dunedin, Florida last week. The news came just before the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings started, a period when teams typically make significant roster moves.

Blue Jays broadcaster Hazel Mae asked manager John Schneider about Tucker's visit, prompting Schneider to send a veiled message regarding his interest in signing Ohtani, who was recently signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers on a record-breaking deal. When questioned about Tucker's visit, Schneider mentioned that this time around, he could discuss it openly.

Schneider previously expressed skepticism over the Blue Jays' ability to sign Ohtani after the outfielder chose the Dodgers last year during his free agency. During that period, Schneider joked that if Ohtani were to visit the PDC again, he might return some gifts - presumably referring to the blue jacket and hat that Ohtani wore during his initial visit.

However, this time around, with Atkins confirming Tucker's visit, Schneider seemed genuinely pleased with what he heard. The outfielder discussed various aspects of his game, including his defense, baserunning, and baseball IQ. According to Schneider, these qualities make Tucker an excellent player whose skillset aligns well with the team's strategy.

The Blue Jays' efforts to attract Tucker appear more promising than their attempts to sign Ohtani. Schneider acknowledged that recruiting Ohtani proved challenging due to the Dodgers' offer. Nevertheless, the Blue Jays seem hopeful about signing Tucker and turning things around, at least in part thanks to a successful visit by the outfielder to their PDC.

You know what's crazy? I was just talking to my mate about how these MLB free agency moves are all so unpredictable 🤯. Like, yesterday the Dodgers were trying to get Ohtani and now they've got him locked down for a record-breaking deal 🤑. And meanwhile, Kyle Tucker is coming into play... which is actually kinda cool news! Schneider seems super stoked about it too 😊.

You know back in my day, we used to watch baseball games on the radio with our dads 👵🏻👴. It was all about listening to the players and trying to pick their pitches (or not 🤣). Now, these guys are all stars and get paid millions 💸! But hey, if the Blue Jays can sign Tucker, that's a solid move... at least in my humble opinion 😅.

I think it's awesome that the Blue Jays are actively courting Kyle Tucker now. I mean, who wouldn't want an outfielder with such impressive skills on their team? 🤩 It's great to see Schneider being open about his interest in signing him too. No more secretive messages for us! 💬 Compared to Shohei Ohtani, Tucker seems like a more feasible target. Maybe the Blue Jays can make some magic happen this time around and get a top-notch player on their roster 🎩.

I've seen this happen before, you know? Teams try out for different players and see how it goes. The Blue Jays are just trying to do what they can with what they have. Schneider's being pretty straightforward about his interest in Tucker, which is good. It's not like he's hiding anything. I think the Blue Jays got a good read on Tucker during that visit to Dunedin. They seem to be looking at him as someone who could make a difference, which is cool to see. Maybe they can finally get some of that offense going... ⚾💡

I'm totally stoked about this Kyle Tucker situation for the Toronto Blue Jays! 🤩 I mean, it's not every day you see an outfielder get that kinda attention from the management team. Schneider's got a point when he says Tucker's skills align perfectly with their strategy - the guy's a defensive rock and his baserunning is on point! 🔥

I gotta say, though, I'm still curious about what went down between Schneider and Ohtani last year. Was it really just a joke about gifts? 🤔 It seems like the Blue Jays are genuinely interested in signing Tucker this time around, but it's interesting to see how they're trying to spin things compared to their Ohtani attempts.

Tucker's visit to the PDC was probably super helpful for the team - it's always great to get a firsthand look at what you're looking for in a player. And with the Blue Jays seemingly more confident about signing Tucker, I'm hoping we'll see some big changes come through this offseason! 🚀 Maybe they can even build around their young core and become a real contender? Fingers crossed! 💪

idk why the blue jays r so interested in kyle tucker lol they need to stop playing it safe for once 🤷‍♂️ maybe they should've gone all out for ohtani last year instead of being all like "we'll just wait and see" now they're not even in the mix. tucker's a solid player don't get me wrong, but he's no ohtani 😎

I'm low-key excited about Kyle Tucker! 🤩 I mean, he's got some serious skills on the field. The fact that John Schneider is hyped about him is a big deal. Schneider was pretty meh about Ohtani last year when he came visiting, but this time it's different. Maybe they've got some new ammo to sweeten the deal? 🤑 I don't know if Tucker can live up to all the hype, but it's definitely worth a shot. The Blue Jays' strategy seems solid too - we'll see how it all plays out in 2025! 🤞

man i think its great to see schneider being so open about his interest in tucker 🤩 he was super chill about it too, not like last time when he was kinda shady about ohtani 🙄 now thats a big difference, and im loving the fact that tucker is actually talking to the team and sharing his game plan 📝 its gonna be really interesting to see how this plays out, especially considering the blue jays have been struggling lately 😬

I heard John Schneider's interest in Kyle Tucker is no joke 😂, like he's finally not wearing that blue jacket and hat for Ohtani's return gifts! 🤣 But seriously, I'm glad the Blue Jays are trying out different targets this time around. It's like they're saying "Hey, we may not have gotten Shohei, but we can still be cool with Kyle" 😎. And I gotta say, Tucker sounds like a solid player – all that defense and baserunning skills? That's some top-notch stuff! 💪 Who knows, maybe the Blue Jays will finally find their ace (pun intended) in Tucker 🤔.

idk why the blue jays are so keen on kyle tucker now... 🤔 i mean, they already had some issues with shohei ohtani last year, and it seemed like they didn't have a chance in the market anyway? 😕 but yeah, apparently john schneider is super into tucker's game now, and he seems genuinely excited about it. 🎉 it's kinda weird that they're playing hardball now... i mean, ohtani was already signed by the dodgers, right? 🤷‍♂️

omg can't believe schneider was all smiles when talking about tucker lol, guess he's not playing hard to get this time 🤷‍♂️ i mean we all know ohtani is the bigger prize but tucker seems like a solid addition to the blue jays roster, plus think of what they could do with him in centerfield 👍 if schneider says so himself that baserunning and defense are key... gotta make it happen 💥

I think the Blue Jays are making some savvy moves by targeting Kyle Tucker 🤔. While it's no secret they were interested in Shohei Ohtani last time around, Schneider's demeanor suggests they've reevaluated their approach and are now focusing on more attainable prizes 😊. With a record-breaking deal already secured with the Dodgers, it's clear that Ohtani's interest lies elsewhere - but who can blame them? 🤑 Tucker, on the other hand, seems like a solid fit for their team dynamic. His defensive prowess, baserunning skills, and baseball IQ all align with the Blue Jays' strategy, making him an attractive target in this free agent market 💡. It's also interesting to see Schneider's openness about his interest in Tucker - it suggests he's willing to be more transparent and pragmatic in his pursuit of talent 📝.

🤔 The Blue Jays are definitely showing some interest in Kyle Tucker, but I'm still skeptical they can land him 🙃. I mean, who wouldn't want Ohtani on your team? He's a once-in-a-lifetime talent and that record-breaking deal is crazy 💸. It's hard to compete with that kind of offer. Plus, Ohtani has already shown he's not afraid to make big decisions about where he wants to play... I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop 😏. Tucker's visit was a good sign, but let's see if they can back it up with some real action 📈.

Ugh, I'm so over how complicated this forum is 😩🤯. Can't we just have an easy-to-use search bar? I swear, I've been searching for info on Kyle Tucker for like 10 minutes and it's just not showing up in my results. And don't even get me started on the comments section - always full of spam or random threads that have nothing to do with what I'm actually looking for 🤷‍♂️.

Anyway, back to the Blue Jays. So, apparently John Schneider is really into Kyle Tucker now? That's cool, I guess. It's nice to see the team trying to attract some fresh talent. But can we please just have a thread where we can discuss MLB news without having to navigate through all this clutter 🚮?

And btw, why do they always have to make these big deals like Shohei Ohtani? Can't we just have a quiet offseason for once? 😒

😊 I gotta say, people are gonna hate on John Schneider for this one... Like, he's gettin all up in Kyle Tucker's grill now that he knows he was interested 🤯. The dude's been shady about signin Ohtani last year, but now he's got a new strategy and it's all about attractin that talent 🌟.

But let's give Schneider some props for bein transparent, right? He ain't playin no games this time around 🙏. If the Blue Jays can land Tucker, they're lookin at a game-changer on their roster 🔥. It's not like they didn't try with Ohtani, but it seems like they were bluffin last year 🤣.

I'm all for givin people second chances... even if that person is the GM 😊. Schneider might just be gettin his due this time around 👍.

I FEEL LIKE THE BLUE JAYS ARE GIVING IT THEIR ALL TO LAND KYLE TUCKER THIS TIME AROUND!!! THEY MUST HAVE IMPRESSED HIM WITH THEIR FACILITIES AND TEAMWORK 🤩 I MEAN, SHOHEI OHTANI IS A BEAST ON THE FIELD, BUT TUCKER'S DEFENSE AND BASE RUNNING SKILLS COULD BE A PERFECT FIT FOR THEM! IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THIS PLAY OUT, ESPECIALLY AFTER THEY WERE SO CLOSE WITH OHTANI LAST YEAR 😊

omg can't believe what happened with Kyle Tucker 🤯 he literally just showed up unannounced and caught Schneider off guard lol but for real though it's kinda reassuring that they were all smiles about his visit 💛 maybe this is the break they need after Ohtani went to LA? I mean, signing someone like that was a long shot anyway... i'm still curious about how serious the Blue Jays are about signing him tho 🤔

😊 I think it's super cool how Kyle Tucker came down to Dunedin, FL, and met with the Blue Jays team 🌴! Manager John Schneider seemed really stoked about what he heard 🤩 - like, who wouldn't want a player that good on their roster? 🙌 The fact that they could have an open chat this time around is huge, I guess it shows they're willing to listen and make moves 📢. Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani is still out there in LA, signed with the Dodgers and all 🤠 - gotta wonder if he's feeling a little left behind 🤑. If Tucker can bring that level of talent to the Blue Jays, I think it could be a game-changer for them this season 💥 #TuckerForTheJays #BlueJaysNation #MLBFreeAgency

🤔 I think it's pretty clear now that the Blue Jays are after Kyle Tucker big time! Schneider was super relaxed talking about Tucker, which is not what you'd expect when discussing Ohtani 😏. The fact that he mentioned gifts if Ohtani visited again last year was pretty amusing, but this time it seemed like a genuine chat about how great Tucker is as a player 👍. I'm intrigued to see where things go with this one – do they have a shot at landing him? 🤞
