Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim, Chappell Roan Among Honorees for 2026 Resonator Awards

This year's Grammy Week will see the spotlight shine on a talented group of women who are breaking barriers in music. We Are Moving the Needle is hosting its second annual Resonator Awards, an event that aims to honor impactful female music makers and celebrate their contributions to the industry.

Among this year's honorees are Queen of Funk Chaka Khan, rockers St. Vincent and Haim, superstar Chappell Roan, and numerous women working behind the scenes in production, engineering, and songwriting. The list of award winners includes Chappaal Roan (Harmonizer), Gena Johnson (Powerhouse), Bella Blasko (Exceptional Ears), Jayda Love (Exceptional Ears), Alissia (All-Star Award) and Roselilah (Breakthrough).

These talented artists are being recognized for their outstanding work in the music industry, with many having made significant contributions to shaping the sound of contemporary music. The Resonator Awards also aim to highlight the importance of women's voices and perspectives in the creative process.

The event will take place on January 27th at Los Angeles' Chaplin Studios and is set to be a star-studded affair, with Olivia Rodrigo, Sia, Jason Isbell, Anderson .Paak, Laufey, and Addison Rae among those who will present or perform. Special performances from FLO, Thundercat, and Hayley Williams will also be part of the evening's entertainment.

The Resonator Awards are more than just a celebration of artistic talent – they're an opportunity to discuss important issues related to gender equality in music. According to the 2025 Annenberg Report, only 5.9% of producers on the year-end Billboard Hot 100 chart are female, highlighting the need for greater representation and opportunities for women in creative fields.

"We Are Moving the Needle is about strengthening the music industry so creators can thrive on their own terms," said Emily Lazar, co-founder of We Are Moving the Needle. "The Resonator Awards are a reflection of that mission – honoring not only remarkable artistry but also the shared commitment to building an industry that lives up to its values."

Chaka Khan, one of this year's honorees, added: "Empowered women empower women. I am honored to be part of a movement that celebrates the creativity, resilience, and determination of women creators everywhere. We lift each other and shine. Together, we are moving the needle."

🎡 it's so cool to see more recognition for the talented women making waves in music! i mean, Chaka Khan is a legend πŸ™Œ and St. Vincent is always pushing boundaries with her sound. but what really gets me is that this event is highlighting the importance of women's voices and perspectives in the creative process - it's about time we see more diverse stories being told through music. and let's be real, 5.9% female producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart is crazy low 🀯 we need to do better than that. anyway, can't wait for this star-studded event! πŸ’«

I'm so down for an event like this 🀩! It's about time we see more women getting the recognition they deserve in the music industry. I mean, can you imagine if it was just 5.9% of producers on that Billboard Hot 100 chart? Crazy! 😱 We need more females behind the scenes making magic happen. And it's awesome to see some of these talented artists being honored for their contributions. Chaka Khan is such an icon and I love what she said about empowered women empowering women 🀝. It's all about lifting each other up and celebrating our differences. Let's keep moving that needle! πŸ’ͺ

🌟 can't believe how far behind we are on getting more women in music production πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ 5.9% is like, a tiny fraction! it's crazy that there's still so much work to be done to get more women represented and heard in the industry πŸ’ͺ i love that the Resonator Awards are trying to highlight this issue and celebrate the talented women who are breaking barriers 🌈 chaka khan is living her best life, btw πŸ™Œ

The Resonator Awards sound like a great way to give some much-needed recognition to talented female musicians and industry professionals who often get overlooked πŸ™Œ. I mean, it's about time we see more women in leading roles and behind-the-scenes positions, right? The stats on women in production are pretty shocking - 5.9% is just crazy! We need more initiatives like this to create real change. And I love how Chaka Khan is using her platform to uplift other women 🀝. Still, I'm not sure if this is just another PR move or a genuine attempt to address the industry's imbalance...

πŸ™„ The Resonator Awards sound like another feel-good event for the Grammys... but seriously, 5.9% female producers on Billboard Hot 100? 🀯 That's still super low. Can't they just give out more awards or something? πŸ€‘ And what's up with all these behind-the-scenes women being recognized last? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the ladies, but it feels like we're just scratching the surface here... πŸ‘€

OMG 🀯 the fact that only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female is crazy!!! πŸ’β€β™€οΈ it's like we still have so far to go in terms of equality. But at least events like Resonator Awards are shining a light on women who are breaking barriers and making waves in music 🌟 especially with the involvement of iconic artists like Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, and Haim - they're truly inspiring πŸ’– and I love that the awards also aim to discuss important issues related to gender equality in music πŸ—£οΈ we need more conversations about this!

πŸŽ‰ gotta say, it's about time we're shinin' some light on all the talented women makin' moves in music 🌟 Chaka Khan, St. Vincent, Haim... these queens got bars for days! πŸ‘‘ but what really gets me is that We Are Moving the Needle is tryin' to change the game - 5.9% of female producers on Billboard Hot 100? that's just crazy low πŸ”₯ and it's not just about celebratin' their talent, it's about changin' the system so they can thrive without all the obstacles 🌈 we need more women in these creative fields, and I'm hyped to see the Resonator Awards bein' a platform for that conversation πŸ’¬

πŸŽ‰ The Resonator Awards are like, so needed right now! You gotta recognize all these incredible women who are breaking down barriers in music, from front-stage performers to behind-the-scenes rockstars. It's about time we give it up for Chaka Khan and others who paved the way for future generations. I love that they're not just giving out awards, but also talking about the importance of gender equality in music 🀝. We need more women in creative fields, period! And let's be real, having Olivia Rodrigo and Sia on the list is a total win πŸ™Œ. It's dope to see these talented artists using their platforms to uplift each other and celebrate women's voices in music πŸ’–

I'm so stoked about these Resonator Awards 🀩! It's amazing to see all these talented women getting recognized for their hard work in music. Chaka Khan is a legend πŸ™Œ, and it's awesome to see younger artists like Chappell Roan making waves too. The fact that they're highlighting the importance of women's voices in creative spaces is so needed πŸ’‘. I'm loving the line-up for this event too - Olivia Rodrigo, Sia, and Hayley Williams are going to bring the house down 🎸! It's all about celebrating these incredible artists and creators who are breaking barriers and pushing boundaries in music 🌟. I'm hoping it inspires more women to take center stage and make their mark on the industry πŸ’ͺ.

omg i'm so hyped for the Resonator Awards 🀩 they're like the ultimate celebration of female power in music & i love that it's not just about the artists but also about highlighting the importance of women's voices & perspectives in the creative process πŸ’‘ Chaka Khan is literally a legend and i'm so proud to see her being recognized for her contributions to music πŸ™Œ & btw can we talk about how low the number of female producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart is like 5.9%?! that's wild 🀯 we need more women in those creative fields ASAP πŸ’ͺ

I think its about time we give it up for these incredible women making waves in music πŸ™Œ. It's not just about them, though - we gotta talk about how little representation there is in the industry overall πŸ€”. I mean, only 5.9% of producers on the Billboard Hot 100 chart are female? That's crazy low ⚠️. These women are breaking barriers and paving the way for others to follow in their footsteps πŸ’ͺ.

I love that we're celebrating not just their artistry but also the impact they're having on the industry as a whole 🌟. Its about time we give a shoutout to all the talented ladies working behind the scenes, too 🎀. I'm excited to see what these awards will look like and how they'll help create change πŸ’«. And can we just say Chaka Khan's message is everything? Empowered women empower women - let's keep lifting each other up πŸ’–!

I'm literally so done with how underrepresented women are in music production and engineering 🀯🎢. Like, it's 2025 and we're still only getting like 6% of females on those Billboard charts? What even is that?! 😱 We need to be celebrating women who are pushing the boundaries and breaking barriers, not just getting a token nod at some awards show.

I love that We Are Moving the Needle is hosting this event because it's not just about recognizing talented artists (although Chaka Khan and St. Vincent are total legends πŸ™Œ), but also about highlighting the need for greater representation and opportunities for women in the industry. It's time to get real about the glass ceiling and how it's holding us back from creating music that truly reflects our society.

And can we talk about the line "Empowered women empower women"? Like, YAAAS CHAKA KHAN, WE ARE MOVING THE NEEDLE! πŸ’ͺ🏼 We need more women like Chappaal Roan and Gena Johnson who are out there pushing boundaries and creating something new. The industry needs a major shake-up and I am HERE. FOR. IT. πŸ’₯
