A Cold Front to Bring Chill to South Florida, But Briefly
Another cold front is making its way towards South Florida, but it won't pack as much of a punch as its predecessor. Still, residents can expect a return to cooler temperatures and breezy winds by Friday morning.
As the front moves through, temperatures are expected to plummet, with inland areas potentially dropping into the mid-30s by nightfall. "Feels-like" temperatures will be significantly lower due to lingering winds, which could make it feel like it's in the low 30s for some residents.
However, coastal and metropolitan areas of Broward and Miami-Dade are expected to remain warmer, with lows in the low to mid-40s. The Florida Keys will experience a more moderate chill, with temperatures reaching the 50s.
A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for inland Broward and Miami-Dade from 3am to 9am on Friday due to the strong winds, but rain showers are expected to be brief and accompanied by storms that will actually help alleviate severe drought conditions in the area.
Don't worry, though - this cold snap won't last long. As the front passes, sunshine and warmer temperatures will return by the weekend, with highs climbing back into the low to mid 70s.
Stay safe out there, South Florida!
