Dead and Alive by Zadie Smith review – essays for an age of anxiety

I gotta say, Zadie Smith's latest essay collection feels like a breath of fresh air 🌬️, especially when it comes to tackling the complexities of modern life. She's not afraid to speak her mind on issues like racism and representation, but at the same time, she's also willing to listen and learn from others. I mean, can't say she's always spot on (the cultural appropriation essay was a bit of a bummer 😐), but overall, I love how honest and vulnerable she is in her writing.

What really resonates with me, though, is how she talks about the impact of media and tech on our perceptions of the world. It's so timely and relevant, you know? She's not afraid to get personal or explore her own doubts and uncertainties – that's what makes her work feel so human and relatable.

One thing I do wish she'd tackle more explicitly is issues like war and social justice... but hey, maybe that's just me being too picky 😊. Either way, "Dead and Alive" is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for some thought-provoking essays on the state of our world today 💡

Omg I'm LOVING this new collection by Zadie Smith!!! 🤩 She's literally tackling all the tough stuff with such clarity and wit - it's so refreshing to see someone speaking truth to power like this! 💁‍♀️ I do agree that some of her language can be a bit cliché, but overall I think she's doing an amazing job of shedding light on these super complex issues. The way she's thinking critically about the intersections of culture, media, and politics is giving me LIFE 🌟
