Elon Musk says 'unauthorised' Russian use of satellite-based Starlink internet stopped

SpaceX's Starlink Internet System Seemingly Evades Russian Use, But Experts Warn of Ongoing Threats.

In a significant development, Elon Musk announced on Sunday that efforts by his SpaceX company to prevent unauthorized use of its internet system, Starlink, have been largely successful. Despite Russia's attempts to tap into the network, it appears that these moves have fallen short.

According to Kyiv's defense chief, officials are now working diligently to bolster their defenses and prevent Moscow from leveraging Starlink in future attacks. The city's military has come under fire for using tens of thousands of satellite-based Starlink internet connections for battlefield communication and drone operations. However, recent findings suggest that Russian forces have managed to embed Starlink terminals on long-range drones used in their missile strikes.

I'm surprised Russia didn't get more creative with this one ๐Ÿค”. Embedding Starlink tech into their drones is a low-key genius move if you ask me ๐Ÿ’ก. But seriously, it's like they're playing catch-up with SpaceX's innovation here... what's the holdup? Shouldn't they've come up with something better by now ๐Ÿ˜’. The fact that Russia is still relying on these old-school tactics is just laughable ๐Ÿคฃ. I mean, have they been following Elon Musk's space tweets or what? ๐Ÿš€

I DONT KNOW ABOUT THIS SPACE STUFF BUT IT SEEMS LIKE RUSSIA IS STILL TRYING TO GET ITS HANDS ON THAT STARLINK THINGY! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I mean, i get it, they wanna stay connected too and all, but at what cost? Using tens of thousands of starlink connections for battlefield ops sounds like a big no-no to me...like, what about the other side? can't they just use regular ol internet or something?! ๐Ÿค”

๐Ÿš€ I'm not surprised Russia is still trying to use Starlink, tbh ๐Ÿค” it's like they're playing a game of cat and mouse with Elon Musk ๐ŸŽฎ. But let's be real, this is just the beginning. We need to think about the bigger picture here - what if other nations try to tap into Starlink too? It's not like SpaceX has a magic solution to prevent hacking or eavesdropping ๐Ÿค–. And what's with all these tens of thousands of internet connections being used for battlefield comms? Isn't that just begging to be targeted? ๐Ÿšซ I think we're just scratching the surface of this whole Starlink thing, and it's gonna get a lot more complicated ๐Ÿ”ฅ

omg what a disaster this is ๐Ÿšจ still gonna be hard 2 keep these russian forces off starlink tho lol they're trying with the drones but like how do u attach satellite tech 2 birds w/o it crashing or getting shot down idk ๐Ÿ˜‚ also i cant believe ppl r using starlink for battlefield ops think about all the civilian casualties ๐Ÿค•

๐Ÿš€ just saw this news about SpaceX's Starlink and i'm like wut's the deal with russia trying to get hands on it lol apparently they've been tryin but not quite got there yet so kudos to Elon musk and his team for keepin their users safe ๐Ÿ™Œ meanwhile these russian forces are gettin all up in the battlefield comms game and usin starlink for drone ops who knew satellites could be so useful ๐Ÿ˜‚ guess we gotta stay vigilant though, cant have russia just waltzing in and takin over with a fancy new internet system ๐Ÿ’ป

I think its a total overreaction by the Ukrainian government ๐Ÿ™„. Like, yeah Russia's trying to use Starlink against them, but thats kinda how wars work right? One side tries to take advantage of tech, other side adapts & finds ways to counter it. SpaceX's security measures arent foolproof (obvi), but its not like they didnt warn people about this risk ๐Ÿš€. Its all just part of the game. Can't blame Musk for trying to protect his investment, tho ๐Ÿ˜’.

omg can u believe russia is still trying 2 hack into spacex's starlink ๐Ÿคฏ i mean, i remember when internet was even a thing and we were like "can we get online already?" lol anywayz, this is getting serious now. so russia thinks they can use starlink for their missile strikes? that's just crazy talk ๐Ÿš€ those long-range drones are like something out of a movie... or maybe an old videogame from the 90s ๐Ÿ‘พ i'm still waiting for them to get it right and have some decent internet speeds, you know? ๐Ÿ“บ

I'm kinda surprised that Russia's efforts to use Starlink didn't work out ๐Ÿค”. I mean, it's like they're trying to hack into a super secure system and it just doesn't add up ๐Ÿšซ. But at the same time, I get why Russia would want to try, you know? They've got some pretty powerful missiles that can cause a lot of damage ๐ŸŒŠ. And if they could use Starlink to track their targets or communicate with their troops, it would be a big advantage for them ๐Ÿ’ป.

But I'm also glad that Ukraine is stepping up their defense and trying to protect themselves from this threat ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ. It's not easy being in the middle of a war, but they're doing their best and it's good to see them taking proactive measures ๐Ÿ”’. And hopefully, SpaceX can keep its system secure so that it doesn't get used for anything malicious ๐Ÿ’ก.

I'm getting some mixed vibes about this whole Starlink situation ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, it's awesome that SpaceX has been able to keep the system secure and prevent Russia from exploiting it for nefarious purposes ๐Ÿ’ป. But at the same time, I'm worried about what might happen next...like, if Russia finds a way to hack or tamper with Starlink terminals somehow, we're looking at some serious security breaches ๐Ÿšจ.

It's also kinda interesting that the military in Kyiv is using so many Starlink connections for battlefield ops...I mean, I get it, we need all the tech help we can get when it comes to defending ourselves against aggression ๐Ÿ˜•. But still, I hope they're taking steps to make sure those connections aren't vulnerable to being used by rogue actors ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And honestly? It's kinda scary that Russia has already figured out how to embed Starlink terminals on their drones...I mean, we need to be proactive about preventing that kind of thing from happening again ๐Ÿ’ก. The world is getting more and more complicated, folks ๐ŸŒŽ.

omg what a huge issue ๐Ÿคฏ i feel like we're still in the middle of this whole russia ukraine conflict thing and now space x is trying to save the day ๐Ÿš€ but at the same time, it's kinda worrying that russian forces can still use starlink for their attacks ๐Ÿค” i mean, don't get me wrong, it's awesome that space x is doing a great job of securing its network, but what about the security risks? shouldn't there be more checks in place? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ and btw, using starlink on drones is just crazy talk ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ’ป the thing is, we gotta remember that even when something seems like it's worked out pretty well, there are still gonna be some loose threads ๐Ÿงต. just 'cause Russia hasn't been able to tap into Starlink yet don't mean they're done trying ๐Ÿ”. and what's worrying is that they've already found a way to embed the terminals on their drones, so who knows what kinda threats we could be facing in the future ๐Ÿค”. it's like when you think you've got everything under control, but then someone else comes along and knocks you off balance ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. just gotta stay vigilant and keep adapting ๐Ÿ’ก.
