Ohio Man Arrested in Connection with Double Murder of Dentist and Ex-Wife. A suspect has been apprehended in connection with the gruesome double murder of his ex-wife, a dentist, and her husband at their home in Columbus, Ohio. Michael David McKee, 39, was taken into custody following surveillance footage that linked him to a vehicle seen in the neighborhood around the time of the killings.
According to court records, investigators identified a suspect through neighborhood surveillance footage, which then led detectives to a vehicle found in Rockford, Illinois. The police discovered evidence that McKee had been in possession of the vehicle before and after the murders.
Spencer Tepe, 37, a dentist, and his wife Monique, 39, were shot and killed at their home on December 30th. Two small children, who are not related to the couple, were found unharmed in the house.
The suspect had previously been married to Monique Tepe but they divorced in 2017. McKee's current whereabouts and motivation for the heinous crime remain unknown.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Tepe family expressed gratitude for the tireless efforts of the City of Columbus Police Department and its investigators, saying that today's arrest represents an important step toward justice for their loved ones.

This whole thing is just so messed up 
. I mean, a guy gets divorced, moves on with his life, and then goes out and kills not one but TWO people in such a brutal way? It's like he had no regard for human life whatsoever 
. And the fact that it was his ex-wife who was targeted makes me wonder if there were some deeper issues in their relationship that we don't know about

. I mean, it's not like the guy was hiding out or anything - he just happened to be driving around the neighborhood around the time of the murder 
. Anyway, justice is finally being served for the Tepe family and their kids are going to have a better chance at healing now that this guy is behind bars

The fact that surveillance footage is what led to this guy getting caught is kinda wild. I mean, it's not like it's the first time these new tech gadgets have helped solve crimes... but at the same time, I guess it's a reminder that sometimes old-school detective work still trumps fancy gadgets. 
I mean, I could swear Whiskers was listening the other day... anyway, back to this news - double murder is just crazy, you gotta feel for Spencer and Monique's kids who got stuck in the middle of all this. You know what would've been helpful though? Some good ol' fashioned customer service from the neighbors when they saw something fishy on their security footage...

And the fact that he was married to Monique but then went and killed her and her husband...talk about twisted. 
. I mean, can you even imagine if roles were reversed and it was your spouse who was the one doing something like this? The fact that McKee was exes with Monique and she ended up becoming his ex-wife just so he could take her down is just sickening

The stats are mind-blowing - 1 in 10 murders is linked to a domestic dispute, which makes this case even more heinous. 
2017 was a turning point. McKee's motive is still unknown, but I'm guessing it had something to do with his own emotional state after the split.
