Figurines, a doll, a crucifix: Alleged stalker left trinkets, notes on victim's doorstep, docs show

A Texas Woman's Descent into Fear: Stalker's Bizarre Gift-Giving Spree

In a chilling case of alleged stalking, a northwest Harris County woman reported to police that she was being terrorized by someone who left an assortment of trinkets at her doorstep, declaring his love for her and making her feel "harassed, annoyed, offended, and alarmed." The incidents began on June 23, 2025, when Jorge Escalante Rivera, 29, started leaving figurines, including a snowman, birdbath with a cardinal, candle, and two angels, along with handwritten notes at the victim's doorstep.

Security cameras captured Rivera's visits, showing him walking away from his gifts, often accompanied by the sign of the cross. The following months brought more unusual gifts: a doll of Jessie from "Toy Story," another cardinal bird figurine, an El Salvadoran flag, and a crucifix. In each instance, Rivera left behind notes expressing his love for the victim, with one message even referencing lyrics about kidnapping and sexual assault as acts of love.

The third visit occurred just weeks later, on November 1, when Rivera left a broom with a handwritten note in Spanish that said, "the most beautiful witch," along with a smiley face. As the incidents escalated, the victim contacted people she knew, sent them photos of Rivera and his car, and even enlisted the help of her former employer, who confirmed Rivera's identity.

It wasn't until December 25, when cameras recorded Rivera's car stopping in front of the victim's house and throwing something onto her yard, that authorities took action. On January 8, Rivera was charged with felony stalking, and just days later, he was arrested.

The woman told investigators she felt "harassed, annoyed, offended, and alarmed" by the bizarre gift-giving spree, which left her fearing for her safety and her home. The case serves as a disturbing reminder of the lengths some individuals will go to express their obsession, and the importance of taking such allegations seriously.

💔 I mean can you even imagine getting gifts from some random dude who's just obsessed with you?! 🤯 Like, what is wrong with him? 🙄 He started leaving these weird trinkets at her doorstep, including a snowman and a doll of Jessie from Toy Story... like, what does that even have to do with anything?! 😂 And the notes! Oh man, the notes were getting more and more creepy by the minute. 📝

Let's look at some stats: in 2025, 75% of stalking cases involved some form of gift-giving or other forms of intimidation. 📊 And what's crazy is that 60% of victims reported feeling "harassed, annoyed, offended, and alarmed" by these incidents. 😱 Like, I feel you, girl! You're right to be scared.

Here are the stats on stalking arrests in Texas: 💥

* 2025: 142,567 reports
* 2020: 101,234 reports (increase of 40% in 5 years)
* Average response time for police: 45 minutes (but that's often not enough)

It's clear that this case is a prime example of how quickly things can escalate into something more serious. 💣 The woman did the right thing by reaching out to people she knew and seeking help, but it's still disturbing to think about how close we came to disaster.

Anyway, I'm just glad that Rivera got caught and charged with felony stalking. 🙌 Let's keep spreading awareness about this important issue! 👉

OMG, did u see this? 🤯 According to the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC), stalking cases in the US rose by 16% between 2020 and 2025 📈. Meanwhile, in Texas alone, the number of reported stalking incidents increased by a whopping 25% from 2019 to 2023 🔥. And get this - 75% of stalking victims report feeling "fearful" or "intimidated" during an attack 😨. I mean, can u blame her? The fact that Rivera left notes referencing kidnapping and sexual assault as acts of love is just straight-up creepy 😳. Anyways, did u know that the average age of a victim in stalking cases is 28, while the median sentence for felony stalking is 24 months 🚔💼. The stats are wild, right? 🤯

omg this guy's behavior is just plain creepy 🤯 i mean who leaves a doll from toy story on someone's doorstep? like what even is that? and those notes are straight out of a bad thriller movie. it's scary to think about how the woman must be feeling, living in fear like that all because some dude has an obsession with her 😳

i'm also really frustrated that he thought leaving gifts was going to make her feel loved or appreciated, instead it just seemed to escalate things and make her even more uncomfortable 🙄 like what's next, a bouquet of flowers?

anyway, i hope the woman is doing okay and that justice is served for this dude. stalking is never okay and we need to stand up against people like him 💪

🚨 this case is wild, i mean who leaves gifts at someone's doorstep with creepy notes? like what even is the goal here? is it supposed to be romantic or just plain unsettling? and omg the guy's behavior is straight up alarming... leaving a doll of toy story's main character for example, that's just messed up 🤯. i feel bad for the victim who had to deal with this stuff for months and has to live with the fear of being stalked. thankfully she spoke out and got some help from her former employer. can't believe it took authorities like a whole month to take action tho... anyway, it's just a scary reminder that some people's behavior is way out of line 🙅‍♀️.

I gotta say, this dude's stalking is straight up messed up 🤯. I get that he thinks she's his "love" or whatever, but leaving her creepy gifts and notes? That's not love, that's possession. And what's with the weird stuff like the El Salvadoran flag and the crucifix? Dude, take a chill pill. She didn't ask for this, and it's affecting her mental health 🤕.

And I'm all for the authorities taking action and charging him with felony stalking, but can we also talk about how this dude's behavior is being romanticized in some people's minds? Like, "Oh, he loves her so much" - no, dude doesn't love her, he loves to control her and make her feel scared. This isn't a fairy tale, it's real life, and it's scary as heck 😱.

Anyway, glad the police stepped in when they did, and I hope the victim gets some peace of mind soon 💔.

omg this dude is straight up creepy 🙅‍♂️ like who sends a snowman figurine to someone's doorstep just to declare love?? its not even romantic or respectful its like stalking 101 🚫. idk how many times she had to deal with the constant gifts and notes before she finally got police involved, it wouldve been nice if she took action sooner 😒. anyone who thinks that kinda behavior is romantic or sweet needs a serious reality check 🤦‍♂️.

This whole thing is just crazy 🤯 I mean, who does that? Leaving weird gifts and notes on someone's doorstep just to make them feel uncomfortable? It's like, what's next? Showing up at their workplace with a bunch of balloons and singing "I love you"? No wonder the poor woman was terrified 😱. And that whole thing about referencing lyrics about kidnapping and sexual assault as acts of love? Chilling 🥶. The fact that it took so long for authorities to step in is just disturbing too. I mean, shouldn't they have taken her concerns seriously from the start? Anyway, glad justice was served, but I hope this woman can finally feel safe again 😌.

OMG, this whole thing is soooo disturbing 🙅‍♀️! Like, what's wrong with people? Leaving creepy gifts at someone's doorstep and claiming it's all love 💕? Girl, that's not love, that's STALKING! 😱 I mean, can you imagine how terrifying it must've been for her to wake up every morning finding these bizarre gifts 🤯. And the fact that he was leaving them with signs of the cross and other creepy symbols... 🙏🚫 Like, dude, what's going on in your head?! 💔 The victim did everything right by reaching out to people she trusted and not hesitating to contact authorities 👮‍♀️. It's cases like this that make us grateful for good law enforcement and support systems 🤝. This has to be a huge wake-up call for everyone to take stalking seriously, especially if you're the one being targeted! 💪 #StalkingIsNotLove #TakeItSeriously #SafetyFirst

I mean can u believe this dude was just leaving gifts at some random girl's doorstep like that? 🤯 I'm all for being romantic and stuff but this is just creepy AF. The fact that he's got a whole theme going on with these figurines and notes, it's like something out of a horror movie. And the worst part is, she felt like she was being "loved" by him? Give me a break! 😒 He needs to get some serious help, stat.

😱 this is insane! who does that?! 🤯 i mean, yeah, love is all well and good, but not when it gets warped into creepy gifts & notes that freak someone out. the fact that he was throwing these things onto her yard like a twisted game of 'love' is just disturbing. and that he thought referencing kidnapping/sexual assault as acts of love would be romantic? 🙄 no thanks! the woman's right to feel scared & safe in her own home is so not okayed by this guy's actions. authorities should've stepped in sooner, esp since she was sharing pics & info with people close to her. glad he got caught eventually 💪

🤔 This whole thing is wild, you know? Like what even would make someone start leaving trinkets on someone's doorstep like that? It's just so... random 🎁. I mean, I've seen some weird stuff in my time online, but this takes the cake. Or should I say, it takes the snowman figurine 😂. Anyway, I guess what's concerning is how serious the victim took these incidents and didn't hesitate to reach out for help. It's all about taking those feelings of unease seriously, you know? Maybe we can learn from this case and just be more aware of our surroundings 🤝. Oh, and has anyone else seen that new Marvel movie? 🎥

OMG 🤯, can you even imagine receiving weird gifts from someone who just won't take no for an answer?! 😱 This guy's behavior is straight up creepy and I'm so glad the authorities stepped in ASAP 💪. The fact that he was leaving notes with lyrics about kidnapping and assault as acts of love? 😷 totally red flag. And those little trinkets, like a snowman and a birdbath? So not romantic, more like stalker-ish 🤪.

But what's really sad is how long it took for her to feel scared for her safety and her home. We gotta make sure we're all supporting each other in these situations, 'cause being stalked can be super isolating 💔. Anyway, I'm just glad justice was served and Rivera's got some serious time ahead of him 🚔💼. Let's all take a deep breath and focus on our own self-care and positivity vibes 🌈💆‍♀️!

😒 Ugh, this dude's stalking spree is literally the creepiest thing I've seen all year... leaving figurines and notes with weird messages? 🤣 get over yourself, dude! But seriously though, it's insane how desperate someone can be to express their "love" and how that desperation turns into something so twisted. The fact that he even threw a broom onto her yard on Christmas Day is just, like, wow... 🎄👀 I mean, what kind of person does that? It's good that the police took action and charged him with felony stalking, but can't we all just be a little more respectful of people's personal space? 😂💔

This stalker is like that one aunt at Christmas dinner who just won't leave u alone 😂🎁! "Hey, I know you don't want me over for Thanksgiving, but here's a gift...and another...and another!" 🤣 U mean, what's with all the creepy figurines and notes? Is he trying to win some sort of twisted prize? 💸 And what's up with the hand-written love letters that are like, "Hey, I'm obsessed with u"...ly weird 😳. Anyway, glad police finally stepped in and arrested him, but seriously, folks, if someone's making u feel this way, get help ASAP! 🚨

omg this guy is seriously creepy 🙅‍♂️ like what even is wrong with him? leaving gifts and notes that are just soooo over the top... and then throwing stuff at her house on christmas day?! 🎄😱 i mean i get that he's obsessed, but does he have to take it this far?! and honestly, who writes lyrics about kidnapping and sexual assault as acts of love?! 😷 like, what kinda messed up thoughts are we talking about here? 🤯 anyway, glad the cops finally took action and arrested him, hope she can get some peace now

OMG, I'm like, so creeped out by this dude's behavior 😱! Can you even believe he was leaving these weird gifts and notes at her doorstep for months?! It's like something straight outta a bad movie 🎥. I mean, I get it, he thought he was being romantic or whatever, but seriously, what kind of messed up logic says "the most beautiful witch" with a smiley face? 🤣

And the fact that he left these random trinkets and stuff at her house just to make her feel scared and uncomfortable is just, like, so not okay 😕. I'm glad she finally got help and he's been arrested, but can you imagine living with this constant anxiety for months?! *shudders*

It's just wild to think that this guy was obsessed with someone who clearly didn't return his feelings, and yet he kept showing up at her doorstep like a stalker 🕵️‍♀️. It's a good reminder to always prioritize our safety and boundaries, you know?

😔 I can only imagine how terrifying that must be for someone to experience. It's just heartbreaking to think about how one person's actions can make another feel so vulnerable and scared. The fact that he was leaving these gifts and notes that were supposed to show his love, but really ended up being so creepy and disturbing... it's just sad. 🤕 I'm glad the police took action and that she felt supported by her community and former employer. It's a sobering reminder of how important it is to prioritize someone's safety and well-being in situations like this. 💡
