Five college prospects who could interest the Eagles in the 2026 NFL Draft

Philadelphia Eagles Eye Top College Talent in 2026 Draft

The 2025 college football season has been filled with exciting performances from talented players vying for a spot on the Philadelphia Eagles' roster. The team's scouting department is keeping a close eye on these prospects, and here are five college standouts who could be on their radar for the 2026 NFL Draft.

First up is Peter Woods, Clemson's dominant defensive tackle. Standing at 6'3" and weighing 310 pounds, Woods has incredible physicality, ranking among his teammates in muscle mass. His impressive stats include a bench press of 490 pounds, 34 reps of 225 pounds, squats of 700 pounds, power cleans of 385 pounds, and a 4.86-second 40-yard dash time.

Woods is an elite run stopper on the interior, with pure athletic gifts that make him hard to ignore. His play style reminds one of Jalen Carter, and it's possible he'll fall a bit in draft order due to Clemson's disappointing season. However, his upside as a top-5 pick makes him worth monitoring.

Miami right tackle Francis Mauigoa has also caught the Eagles' attention. The 6'6" giant is an absolute mauler who moves defensive linemen with ease. In pass pro, he anchors well but struggles against speedier edge rushers. As an elite guard prospect, he could be a trade-up candidate.

Rutgers wide receiver Ian Strong offers a big possession receiver and chain mover with good hands and body control. He excels in settling into soft areas of zone coverage and making contested catches. With 37 receptions for 543 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season, Strong has had a productive year on a struggling Rutgers team.

Tennessee edge rusher Joshua Josephs is another player worth watching. This lean edge rusher at 240 pounds is a feisty run defender who can set the edge and get the ball out quickly. With 29 tackles, four sacks, and three forced fumbles in eight games this season, Josephs wins more reps than his sack numbers would suggest.

NC State tight end Justin Joly has had consistent production over his four-year career at UConn and NC State. He's a tough matchup for opposing safeties due to his high point ability and refusal to go down easily after catching passes. With 43 receptions for 661 yards and four touchdowns in six games this season, Joly is a valuable target for the Eagles.

These college prospects are among those keeping the Eagles' scouting department engaged, as they look to bolster their roster for the future.

๐Ÿค” gotta say, i'm excited about the eagles' pursuit of these top college talent ๐Ÿˆ... peter woods seems like a beast on defense, can't wait to see him in action ๐Ÿ’ช. meanwhile, francis mauigoa's power and size are unmatched ๐Ÿคฏ. but what really caught my attention is rutgers wide receiver ian strong - his hands and body control are insane ๐Ÿคฉ. the eagles need a reliable possession receiver like strong... it's gonna be interesting to see how these college players translate to the nfl ๐Ÿ“บ

I'm so stoked to see the Eagles eyeing these top talent prospects ๐Ÿคฉ! Peter Woods sounds like a beast on the defensive line - that 4.86-second 40-yard dash time is crazy fast ๐Ÿ’จ! It's awesome to see Rutgers wide receiver Ian Strong making waves with his big possession receiver skills and good hands ๐ŸŒˆ. Tennessee edge rusher Joshua Josephs seems like a total game-changer, all those tackles and sacks in just eight games - that guy must be UNSTOPPABLE ๐Ÿ˜ฒ! And NC State tight end Justin Joly is like a safety valve for the Eagles, he's got that tough matchup ability that's gonna make him a go-to target ๐Ÿค. It's so exciting to see these college players making a name for themselves and potentially joining the Eagles' roster in 2026 - can't wait to see how it all plays out!

I'm loving how the Eagles are on the hunt for some top talent ๐Ÿค”. With Clemson's Peter Woods being one of the biggest targets, I think it's gonna be interesting to see if he can overcome that rough season and still get picked in the top 5 ๐Ÿ’ช. On the other hand, I think Francis Mauigoa could be a trade-up candidate for sure - that guy is like a brick wall on the right tackle position ๐Ÿฐ! And I'm curious to see how Rutgers' Ian Strong develops, he's got some serious hands and can make those tough catches โœ๏ธ. Can't wait to see who the Eagles end up picking in 2026 draft ๐Ÿ”ฎ

I just saw this thread from like 2 weeks ago lol. I gotta say, Peter Woods sounds like a beast on the defensive line. I mean, 490 pounds in bench press is insane! ๐Ÿคฏ He's definitely got the physicality and athleticism to dominate on the field. And it's cool that he reminds me of Jalen Carter - those guys are always going to be interesting to watch. I'm not surprised Clemson didn't do too well this season though, they're always going to have some ups and downs. Anyway, anyone think the Eagles will trade up for Woods or one of the other prospects? ๐Ÿค”

idk why nfl teams gotta keep an eye on so many players before the draft its like they're trying to overthink things ๐Ÿค” just give 'em a chance to prove themselves, you know? and another thing, 6'3" 310 pounds sounds like a solid defensive tackle to me, whats the big deal about him being physical ?

omg u guys I cant believe its that time of year already ๐Ÿคฏ the 2026 draft is gonna be lit and im so hyped to see who the eagles snatch up 1st Peter woods is straight fire tho like he's jalen carter reincarnated i can see why they'd wanna get him on their roster ASAP but at the same time i feel bad for clemson cuz their season was pretty meh last year ๐Ÿค• and now frances mauigoa is like this giant wall of steel in the passpro department lol he's so dominant but u gotta worry about those speedier edge rushers tho rbs got some goods too with strong making those contested catches i'm all for it if they trade up for him joshua josephs is cool too like a feisty little edge rusher getting after it and justin joly is like the ultimate tight end target i love how consistent he's been over his 4-year career ๐Ÿ™Œ anyway i got so much to say about this draft class but u guys gotta stay tuned for more rants from me ๐Ÿ˜‰

The NFL Draft - it's like the American Dream, but only if you're from a big university with tons of money ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, what's the point of these teams just cherry-picking the best talent when there are so many kids out there who actually need a safety net? It's all about supply and demand, folks! The Eagles are gonna have to decide whether they want to be a team that helps out the little guy or one that just looks out for themselves.

And don't even get me started on these college players - 6'3" and weighing 310 pounds is not just physicality, it's systemic inequality. Where are all the smaller, faster, smarter guys? Don't they deserve a shot at the pros too? The NFL needs to do some serious soul-searching about what it means to be an " elite" athlete.

And Francis Mauigoa - big tackle, big problems. I mean, how much more can one guy take before he's just breaking down under the weight of his own success? It's like we're living in a world where size matters most and athleticism is just an afterthought ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The Eagles need to stop settling for dudes who can't move ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... I mean, Francis Mauigoa is a giant of a man but his pass pro skills are lacking ๐Ÿค”. They should focus on finding someone like Ian Strong, he's got the production and the speed to make an impact ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Don't get me wrong, Woods and Josephs are solid prospects but they're not game changers โšก๏ธ.

Ugh man ๐Ÿค”, I'm not sure what's more annoying, the fact that these top colleges are just gonna churn out another batch of overhyped players or the Eagles think they can magically turn around with a few new picks ๐Ÿ’ธ. Newsflash: NFL teams have been doing this for years and it never ends well ๐Ÿ™„. Woods might be big and strong, but what's his actual skillset? Is he just gonna end up being another Jalen Carter who gets destroyed in the draft? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ And Francis Mauigoa... please, he's a giant right tackle, how hard is that to scout for? ๐Ÿ˜’. These top college players always get so much hype before they even step foot on the field and by the time they do, they're just another draft bust waiting to happen ๐Ÿšซ.

man, can you believe how much pressure these young players gotta be under already? i mean, they're being scouted and projected as top picks in the draft, like that's even a thing when you're 22 years old ๐Ÿคฏ. meanwhile, we're still over here watching them try to figure out who they are on the field, making plays for their teams... it's wild how much expectations come with being seen as potential future pros ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘€ gotta love seeing all these talented young players emerging from college ๐Ÿ™Œ. But let's be real, Philly's been in rebuild mode for a while now... they're gonna need more than just top talent to make some noise in the league ๐Ÿ’ช. Still gotta keep an eye on those Clemson and Rutgers dudes tho ๐Ÿ‘Š

Man I'm so hyped about the upcoming draft ๐Ÿคฉ! The Eagles gotta go all out and grab some of these talented players, especially Woods, he's like a beast on the field ๐Ÿ’ช! And Mauigoa is just huge, you know what I mean? He's gonna be a trade-up candidate for sure ๐Ÿค‘. But seriously though, it's awesome to see the Eagles investing in their future with these top college talents ๐Ÿ‘. Maybe we'll see some of them make an impact on the field soon? ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ‘€
