For Under $100, Atonemo's Streamplayer Makes Old Speakers New Again

Atonemo's Streamplayer is a tiny, $99 device that looks to breathe new life into old speakers. The Swedish startup has created a simple, unassuming device that can be plugged into any existing speaker and stream audio from popular platforms like AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect.

Standing just 1.97 x 2.76 x 0.73 inches tall, the Streamplayer boasts impressive specs, including 24-bit/192 kHz high resolution and Wi-Fi 6 dual-band connectivity. However, its lack of a display is notable, with a single clicky button being its only interface.

In use, the Streamplayer proved to be surprisingly seamless, effortlessly hooking up a vintage Vita Audio R1 Mk1 to my father's old Arcam amplifier for streaming music from Qobuz and Spotify Lossless. While it didn't match the CD version of The Band's "Music from Big Pink" in terms of power and scale, its convenience was undeniable.

But what sets Atonemo apart is its focus on making legacy speakers usable in the digital age without needing to replace them entirely. By including a 3.5mm audio jack in the box, users can plug into active speakers, old radios, cassette players, boomboxes, or any device with a 3.5mm aux-in port – although they'll still need separate cables for analogue speaker operation.

Competition from other streaming devices exists, such as the WiiM Mini Music Streamer and FiiO SR11 Desktop Streaming Music Receiver. However, Atonemo's straightforward approach has earned praise from reviewers who appreciate its simplicity and ease of use.

Ultimately, whether the Streamplayer justifies the $99 price tag will depend on your specific needs and desires. If you're looking to breathe new life into old speakers without breaking the bank or delving too deep into technical specifics, this might be worth considering.

just 99 bucks for a tiny device that makes my old speaker sound slightly less terrible 🤦‍♂️. i mean, it's not like i'm gonna upgrade to a whole new setup just yet, but if the Streamplayer is what i need to get by, it's worth the investment 💸. and let's be real, there's nothing worse than listening to music on a pair of speakers that sound like they're about to fall apart 🎵. attonemo seems to have cracked the code with this thing, but only time will tell if it's worth the cash 💰

I mean, think about it - we've all got old speakers lying around somewhere in our homes or parents' homes... 🤔 they're just collecting dust, right? And now we've got this tiny Streamplayer that can breathe new life into them! 🌟 It's like having a magic trick for your grandma's old record player 😂. I'm not sure about the price tag though... $99 is a bit steep for me, but if it's gonna make my dad happy with his old Arcam amplifier, I guess it's worth it? 💸

idk why everyone's so hyped about these retro speaker streams 🤔... i mean, they work fine, but $99 seems steep for just a tiny device that plugs in 🤑. still, if you're dead set on keeping your old speakers and don't wanna deal with cables everywhere, this might be the ticket 🎧. personally, i think it's more about nostalgia at this point... can't help but feel like we're just trying to cling to the past instead of embracing tech advancements 💻

Ugh, I'm still waiting for a decent smart speaker with some sort of display, but instead Atonemo's Streamplayer is like "just plug it in and hope for the best" 🤔💻. I mean, 24-bit/192 kHz specs sound great and all, but who doesn't have any old speakers just chillin' around collecting dust? 😂 They're basically trying to force people into buying this thing just because of its technical specs... it's like, can you just make something for the average person who wants to stream music from their phone or tablet already?! 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I mean, think about it, our old speakers still sound amazing after all these years, right? I've got my grandma's old record player in my living room and it's still one of my favorite spots to chill 🎶. But, at the same time, I'm also super into music production now 🎧... so this little Streamplayer thing is kinda interesting. The fact that it can just plug into any speaker without needing to replace them entirely is like, genius? It's not perfect, but for what it's trying to do, $99 seems pretty reasonable 💸

OMG u gotta try dis thing!!! 🤯 it's literally a tiny device that lets u stream audio from all ur fave platforms onto ur old speakers and it's SOOO convenient 🙌 i mean yeah its not super powerful but if u just wanna plug n play without havin to upgrade ur whole system, this is the bomb 💥 and btw 99 bucks ain't bad at all for a device that can breathe new life into ur old speakers 💸

I mean, who wouldn't want a device that streams audio from their faves online platforms and fits in the palm of your hand? 🤯 $99 is a bit steep, but I guess if you're feelin' nostalgic for old speakers and wanna keep 'em goin', it's a solid option. The fact that it comes with an aux-in port for older gear is pretty cool too. It's like they're sayin', "Hey, we get it, not everyone's got the latest smart speakers." And honestly, I think that's why people might wanna snag this thing – it's just so convenient and doesn't require you to upgrade your whole audio setup.

I'm curious, though, how many ppl are actually gonna be like, "You know what? I need a device that streams music from Spotify Lossless!" 😂 Maybe it's more for those who've got old gear lyin' around the house and wanna breathe some life into 'em.

Omg u gotta see dis tiny device turn old speaker into wifi enabled streaming machine 📺💻 $99 sounds like lot for some but 4 vintage Vita Audio R1 Mk1 it was worth it 💸

I mean, I think Atonemo's Streamplayer is a solid addition to our home audio arsenal 📀! The stats are crazy tho - 192 kHz 24-bit resolution? That's like, high-end stuff for a tiny device 💥. And the fact that it can hook up old speakers without needing a total overhaul is genius 😎.

But I gotta say, $99 might be a bit steep for some folks 🤑. I mean, it's not like it's gonna change your life or anything, but if you're looking to upgrade your old gear without breaking the bank, it's def worth checking out 💸.

Did you guys know that 64% of people still have old speakers lying around in their attics? 🚮 Yeah, I'm guilty too - my dad's got a sweet vintage setup collecting dust. Maybe this thing can breathe new life into some of those old bones 🎶.

I'm low-key obsessed with this tiny device, tbh 🤯! I mean, who wouldn't want to turn their vintage speakers into a modern streaming powerhouse? It's like something out of Back to the Future Part II 🕰️ - just plug it in and you're good to go. The fact that it's so small is genius 💡, and the lack of a display isn't a major issue for me; I'm all about ease of use when it comes to tech. The price point might be a bit steep for some, but for those who want to breathe new life into old speakers without breaking the bank, this could be a game-changer 💸. Plus, the options for using it with different devices are so cool - I'm definitely gonna try plugging it into my old boombox 🎧!

omg I need one of these ASAP! 🤩 they're literally genius for reviving those old speakers that are still kickin' but outdated 💡 and $99 is def a steal if you ask me... I mean, imagine be able to stream any music without having to replace the whole system 🎵 I just wanna plug it in and rock out on my old speakers again lol 🤘

idk why ppl need a device like dis 🤔 i mean, i got an older laptop that can do all these things just fine... but i guess if u got some fancy old speaker lying around and dont wanna upgrade the whole thing? dis thing might be a decent way to get it streamin' or watever 📺

OMG 🤯 I'm totally down for a device like that! It's genius how it just plugs in and makes my old speakers work with modern streaming platforms 😂 I've been struggling to get them to work with Qobuz, so this would be a game changer for me 👍 The fact that it's affordable too ($99) is a huge plus, you don't have to break the bank to upgrade your sound system 🤑 What do you guys think? Would you give it a try if you had an old speaker you wanted to update 💻

Ugh I gotta say, I'm loving the Atonemo Streamplayer but what's up with the forum design? 🤯 It's like they took a design from 2005 and just slapped it together again 😂. The post about the Streamplayer is super in-depth but good luck getting to those details if your browser is slow or you're scrolling on an old phone 📱... anyways, back to the Streamplayer - $99 for this tiny device is kinda steep, but I guess it's worth it if you've got old speakers kicking around and want to breathe new life into them 🎵.

🤔 This thing is actually kinda genius! I mean, think about it - we've got all these fancy speakers at home, but they just sit there gathering dust because we can't be bothered to plug them in and stream some tunes. But the Streamplayer is like, "Hey, why not?!" 💡 It's so easy to use, even my dad was able to hook it up to his old amp without any issues 😂. And I love that it comes with a 3.5mm jack - that way we can still listen to our old cassette tapes and boomboxes, which is just nostalgia goodness 🎧. Plus, the price isn't too bad considering what you get... $99 might be steep for some folks, but if you're gonna spend that much, you want something that's gonna make your life easier 😊.

idk about paying 99 bucks for a tiny dev that just streams audio from ur phone lol its a nice thought but i dont think its worth it unless u got some super old speakers that cant connect to ur phone rn i mean what if the app crashes or the wifi dies wouldnt wanna be stuck w/ an old speaker thats all messed up

🤔 I'm not sure about Atonemo's Streamplayer being a game changer for music lovers... 🎵 Think about it, it's just a device that lets you stream audio from your phone to old speakers - big deal? 😐 I mean, I've got an iPad and I can just use AirPlay 2 on my TV speakers already... 💻 Plus, if I really want high res sound, I'd rather spend the extra cash on a proper soundbar or home theater system. 🎥 Don't get me wrong, it's convenient and all, but is it worth $99? 🤑 Maybe for nostalgic purposes or if you've got old speakers collecting dust... 👀

I'm loving that Atonemo's got my back for those old speakers I've been holding onto 🎵💻. It's crazy how much of a difference this little device can make. I mean, my dad's Arcam amp was still pumping out great sound after all these years... the Streamplayer just made it seamless to stream his faves from Qoboz and Spotify Lossless. And that 3.5mm audio jack is pure genius! No need to rip the old speakers apart just to get streaming capabilities 🤓💸

I'm low-key obsessed with this thing 😂! I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to stream music from their Spotify Premium account onto their old vinyl player? 🎵 It's like a time machine for your speakers! And the fact that it's so tiny and affordable is just genius. I've been using it to blast my favorite tunes on my dad's old stereo system, and it's honestly made me want to go back in time and buy some old records again... 😆
