I'm low-key worried about this whole situation 
#JusticeForImmigrants. I mean, can you imagine if someone from your hometown was enforcing immigration laws against people in your community? It's creepy, right? 
And the fact that Bovino is from Appalachia and has a connection to Appalachian State University makes it even more awkward 
#MountainMystery.
I think it's amazing that local residents are speaking out and documenting the presence of federal agents
. It's like, they're not going to let this go without a fight 
#ImmigrantRights. And kudos to the Watauga County Immigrant Justice Coalition for seeking advice from other organizations

The economic impact on local businesses is real too
. I mean, who wants to start or run a business if they know there's going to be a constant threat of immigration enforcement agents lurking around? Not me, that's for sure

And then I started thinking about how cool it is that ASU has such a great music program, have you guys heard of the Blue Ridge Symphony Orchestra? I mean, I've never been to one myself, but my friend from Chicago who's into classical music swears by them. Anyway, back to Bovino and his agents... what's up with all these people showing up in the mountains just doing their thing?
But seriously, this is causing some real problems for local businesses and immigrant communities. Like, who wants to start a construction site if you can't find any workers? 
And now the students at Appalachian State are protesting – I guess that's one way to get your tuition money paid! 
. Like, I get why people are upset – Gregory Bovino showing up in his hometown to work with the Border Patrol does seem weird. But is it really worth causing such a stir? 
And I don't think we're hearing enough from the local business owners who are actually affected by this. Have their concerns been taken into account? 
The fact that Appalachian State University is connected to this dude just makes it worse. It's like the university is enabling him by providing agents for his operation. And now people are losing business because of it...it's all just a big mess. 
i cant even imagine having a border patrol cmdr from ur hometown in ur neighborhood! 
it makes total sense that locals & immigrants are freaking out - it feels like they're taking advantage of the power & not being fair to the ppl living there. construction sites shutting down is no joke, thats gotta be hurting alot of people's livelihoods
