Ugh I'm so over these musicals taking over every production
. Don't get me wrong, Billy Crudup is amazing as always
, but the whole Bruce Springsteen thing just feels like a gimmick to me
. And what's with all the American politics? Can't we just focus on the story for once?
I mean, I'm all for social commentary, but it feels like the musical is trying too hard to fit in 2025.
And can we talk about the supporting cast for a second? Billy Howle and Rosa Salazar just feel like they're phoning it in
. Give them some more development time or something. And what's up with the script? It's all well and good that Eric Roth added some depth to the story, but it feels like there are still some gaping holes.
I'm just not sold on this musical revival thing
. I'd rather see a more nuanced approach to storytelling. Maybe one that doesn't rely so heavily on gimmicks and politics
. Anyway, to each their own, I guess
