How AI Companies Got Caught Up in US Military Efforts

I'm seeing some pretty concerning trends in the way these tech giants are shifting their stances on using AI for military purposes 🤖💻. Just last year, they were all united against it, but now it's like they're quietly rescinding those bans or partnering with the Pentagon without a fuss 😒. OpenAI is even working with the US defense department now!

I'm not surprised that Meta and Google are getting on board with this, though - the costs of building these AI models can be pretty prohibitive 💸. But it's still unsettling to see how quickly they're aligning themselves with the state 🤝.

This whole shift towards geopolitical concerns is a big deal 🌎. We've got a group of Big Tech firms that are still all about neoliberal free market ideals, but now they're working closely with the government and the military 👥. And then we've got this new tech right movement that's just... ugh 🤮. The whole zero-sum struggle narrative between the US and China is getting pretty tired, too 😒.

I think what's most worrying here is the breakdown of the Silicon Valley Consensus 💔. We're seeing these vaguely socially liberal elements being replaced by a more virulent right-wing movement that's all about aligning with the state via government contracts 🚫. Not cool, dude 😒.
