How the supermarket’s cheapest fish became Gen Z’s latest obsession

Sardines are literally the new avocado 🤣, but at least they're not as pretentious... yet. Prices are gonna keep rising until people realize it's just fish in a can 🐟💸.

omg I totally get why gen z is obsessed with sardines right now like my cousin's BFF started eating them every morning for breakfast and she got so glowy and stuff 🌞🐟 i remember when I was in college we'd buy canned sardines from the dollar store because we were poor and couldn't afford real food but now it's all like luxury brand this and artisanal that 🤑 I'm not mad about it tho because like, who doesn't love a good protein boost? but yeah the prices are kinda crazy rn i swear i saw someones instagram post of a tin of sardines for like 10 bucks and they were totes unimpressed 🤯

OMG 🤩 I'm literally dying over this! Sardines are like the ultimate underrated food 🐟💖 They're so affordable and packed with protein 💪, it's no wonder they're becoming a staple in Gen Z diets 🤝 And can we talk about how cute the premium sardine tins are? 😍 I mean, artfully arranged on a plate, they're like a mini work of art 🎨👀 The fact that they're being sold as a status symbol is just too funny 😂 Like, who needs a fancy car when you can have a tin of sardines on your shelf? 💸 But seriously, I'm loving the trend and all the creative ways people are incorporating sardines into their self-care routines 🧖‍♀️💆‍♀️ Maybe it's just me, but there's something so satisfying about eating a humble food like sardines that you can actually afford 😊

🤷‍♀️ I'm not sure what's more surprising - that sardines are now a luxury item or that people are paying extra to be seen eating them 🤑. On one hand, it's awesome that Gen Z is embracing affordable protein sources as part of their wellness journey 💪. But on the other hand, it feels like we're overdoing it with the whole "sardine as a status symbol" vibe 🤣. Can't we just appreciate them for what they are - a cheap and nutritious food option? 😂
